If you find it difficult at first a good spot to farm early is just at the entrance of pulse next to the save point. Just north there is a single behemoth and it is very easy to get a pre-emptive strike, just wait for him to turn around and go. You only need one paradigm Agression. Just equip your 2 Com with strenght accessory and it should go easy. 4000 cp every 2 minutes or so. Run back to the save point and it will respawn. Once you feel confident and stronger you can move to that farming spot.
When you reach Taejin's Tower there is another farming spot in the 6th tier with the golden sooldiers, dont remember the exact name. I've just past those, they give you 8,000 CP and they are easy!!!

I know this is a 5 year old comment, but I have the solution. As you can see in the video, you should start with Decimation. With Lightning you should only attack King Behemoth with one combo and then wait for Vanille to stagger him. As soon as he's staggered, attack him again with Lightning (as Com) again to launch him. When he's in the air then switch to Bully. He'll never have the chance to transform that way.
For people in the future, start with 3 Saboteurs, you'll stagger it without causing damage and it won't transform. Then swap to a commando and launch it in the air, then it's dead.
This cp farm is so good but once you get to around 1500 health on most of your team I recommend using relentless assault until staggered then switch to cerebus to keep him in the air stopping him from transforming.
Almost 8 years later and still helping us gamers out. I'm playing it again for the first time in over 7 years after finally buying the first fat PS3 again. The graphics are actually holding up rather well considering other games I've revisited.
@DarkGnasher i suggest you max out your primary Crystarium roles, and save any CP for maxing them out when the final level unlocks at the end of the game. this is entirely up to you, but Fang/Vanille/Hope is a fantastic team for the rest of the game.

If he transforms, you're dead. I do this by med,syn,sab > com, rav, rav. Then the second beast: med, syn, sab > rav, rav, rav > com, rav, rav. When com, always use ability to do attack, so Lightning will always do launch.
thanks for the tip! doing first playthru now and this will help a lot "In short, no one's ever 'too weak' to farm here. I got here by skipping more than half of my fights; I try to avoid fights except for Treasure Spheres and enemy intel." Makes sense based on title Chapter 11 and you are only 12 hours into game!
for those that may still be here, don't upgrade lightning's atb to 5 while doing this. auto attacking 4 times wont make behemoth transform, but auto attacking 5 times will, so youll have to attack maybe once or twice then wait for vanille to stagger it. its still possible just makes it more convenient
I did it and honestly it's made it faster- I'm using lightning, Saaz, and Vanille. I had around a 20% chance to trigger the transformation on behemoth, forcing a retry. After that, I haven't gotten a transformation even 2-3 hours later. My strategy is to start with Saaz buffing himself and lightning with haste, make sure to hit behemoth once with lightning to avoid loosing stagger! Then going COM/RAV/RAV, wait for Saaz and Vanille to stagger it, then launch it and keep it in air. It almost never touches ground for more than a second. So you don't have to have lightning hit him more than once, 1 or 2 is plenty. It's more risky than it is worth trying lol
thank you everyone for the support! okay this video was meant to help out under-leveled players. you can always adapt the strategy if this doesn't work out for you: if the behemoth transforms too early, start with COM/RAV/RAV. wait for them to stagger before you Launch it. consider using Vanille as a Ravager instead of Saboteur to Stagger the Megistotherian faster, if you don't need the debuffs.
When I got here I was just at the point where I was too strong to manage the stagger to health ratio of the BK to keep him from transforming but not strong enough to handle him once he transformed. After some experimentation and a lot of dying I found a pretty creditable way of taking him out post transformation. The video method is perfect if you are not at the just barely too strong tipping point, if you are (Lighting's STR was 437 when I got here) try this. Stick with Com>Rav>Syn to start, if you are at this too strong tipping point then no matter how you mnage the first attacks or what you let V do the BK alwasy changes. Just keep hitting him until he does and he staggers. One the BK staggers switch to Com>Sab>Syn, load the BK with Deprotect, Deshell, and Imperil and then switch to Rav>Rav>Rav and blow him out of the water. After the BK is dead, continue with the Meg as the video describes.
this guide helped me alot in getting started in chapter 11 until the end of this chapter..also liked how the video was put together. kudos for an excellent guide!
This was very helpful. All the other guides were useless to me because everyone was already fully developed and really strong so they just breezed through everything. I was pretty much at the same level you were at when I got to this level. This guide definitely helped me.
PLEASE NOTE: If you attack the King Behemoth 5 times instead of 4 before he gets staggered it seems to trigger the transformation...so if you have 5 ATB...manually put in 4 attacks, not 5.

Fantastic tutorial! I've got stats about 100 higher than in your video and the battle is extremely easy. Definitely a good setup and very easy to get the respawn. Excellent work!
How tho? I spent several hours farming Gil in chapter 9 to upgrade everything and have 500 to 800 Strength/Magic on 3 characters and the most damage I hit on the enemies here in chapter 9 is like 5k with stagger. How are you and the OP hitting like 15k hits with like 1/8th of my stats?
Great tutorial, I edited it slightly, since the King would transform, even using only 4 attacks, so I changed Lightning's COM to RAV, works like a charm! Thanks again!!!

equip her with accessories to increase her strength, and by upgrading accessories and weapons increase their effects and by using a catalyst you get new stuff, weapons or accesories that normaly you can't buy or find anywhere else, it all depends to you

I also found another good spot, but you need to have a better CP progression. Inside the area where you have to go to, which is right down the hill and to the right, which is right after the battle in this video, progress through the cave until it splits into 2 paths at a save/shop point. Go left. Go until the end when you see a big closed gate. There should be a group of Automatons. That would be it. Kill them, walk to the big closed gate, enter the battle, hit retry, then fight the Automatons.
Yes, this is still working! For those who might ask, it might be valid to have Lightning get the 5 ATB despite multiple comments saying not to. charge *you can save before getting in case it doesn't pan out* Just have Saaz Buff lightning with haste and your pretty much good to go as soon as it's staggered. *its not worth buffing vanille, as it just wastes time ans she doesnt do too much damage anyway, but do what works for you!* Dropped my time to beat this battle from ~1:30 to ~1:10

@@Glockzawa i didn't ask, you can do whatever you want. Fang is better because she can tank attacks and her damage is the best, when she can able to use magic, Snow for me is useless (except in the battle with juctuar or the big Cactuar, you will need 2 tanks so the lider cannot be damaged)
@Dantedevil56Gunz it's actually a Treasure Sphere drop back in Chapter 02: The Pulse Vestige. you'll eventually need it for the Treasure Hunter trophy/achievement, but luckily you can purchase this one from the weapon shop. do check if you missed the other items that cannot be found in the shops though!

@ExequieI Light, Fang, Hope. 1.sab, sab, rav. 2. com, com, rav. Have light stagger each of the beasts with 'deprotect' her first sab. Stagger behemoth first, than dog thing. Takes like 2 hits, and doesn't cause behmoth to switch cause of low damage points. Switch to 2, have light go after behemoth and fang with auto take on the dog. 45 seconds tops for when I first got to pulse. 23 with main 3 paradigms maxed. That's my strategy :)
Lightings should keep attacking and keep the behemoth launched until it dies. Sometimes fang will help, sometimes Sazh will help. COM's randomly choose which enemy to fight when you aren't controlling them. 3. Behemoth is dead without changing, now just get rid of the dog thing. Battle lasts any where between 23-32 seconds for me when I was on level 3.
Hi! Thanks, this is great! I just reached Gran Pulse and I died on every battle with the Behemoth King! LOL But I think I've found an excelent farming spot very near. Unfortunately, I can't record a video, but it's easy to find and understand the method. You must ignore the fight between the BK and the Megistotherian and you will find another save station at Mah'habara. Just after you find 3 Hoplites. Kill them, continue and find 2 Hoplites, kill them too and turn back (this is the point of respawn of the first 3 Hoplites). With Show or Lightning, Hope and Vanille (COM/RAV/RAV). It's very east get Preemptive, the auto-battle give Blitz x2 and Thunder (if you prefer, hit Hoplite C for a fastest battle possible). And as you get stronger via Crystarium, you can get 4 seconds of battle duration and a short turn arond for respawn. I get 999999 CP in a few hours. =) It's very fast and you can also get Weapon Upgrades and Gil too (using or selling Solenoid and Analog Circuit).
There's more farther in when you are ready for the bombs there(which also give loads of CP and lead up to a juggernaut that you will more than likely not be ready for, but if you initiate the cutscene and then hit retry after you are in battle, every enemy will be respawned(if you kill it, absolutely no enemies in the area will respawn), and if you kill all the hoplites up to the boxed phalanx, get it's attention BUT DO NOT ENTER BATTLE WITH IT, and then go back, you usually get even more CP. ...if this is too jumbled, please tell me and I will rephrase it.
For me, the best way to farm CP points is in the sixth tier of taejin's tower wherein the five "Pulsework Gladiators" = 8000 CP walks :D....if you beat them, there is a save point upstairs. After saving the game, press the start button and click select to quit the game. Then load the save game and beat again the the pulseworks. :) hope this helps
to walk a few steps back to the atomos and on your minimap, it will show red dots for a split second than disappear. The enemies have re-spawned and you can continue this method. i got 500K Cp in 2 hours and i have fully leveled up all of the characters main classes Ex: lightning : COM, RAV,MED You can use the same weapons like in this video, with Snow the power circle will work. Much more Cp faster, more components to upgrade and it is easy to find and do.
I know that this video is old as well as this game but i have recently come back to it and i have forgotten how i used to grind. i used this method until i had 5 ATB segments and then it didnt work. This is the method i now use which is 3 seconds faster - Lightning, Snow, Sazh RAV/COM/SYN COM/RAV/RAV - switch to this after haste has been cast on all members + then kill the behemoth RAV/RAV/RAV - used to stagger the last enemy COM/COM/COM - used to kill the last enemy
Just a quick tip for anyone that sees this late. If your like me and your a bit stronger/over leveled compared to the guy in the video, you might have a problem with Behemoth standing up and healing himself. He was doing it almost every time for me. One thing I tried that seems to work is taking items that increase strength off of Lightning. She had 390 strength so i reduced it to 310. Every now and again he will stand up but its mostly fixed now. I'd recommend her Strength to be around 300 and also not spending your CP on the characters your using to do this so they don't do too much damage.
@MrMaxehh yes, your characters are 'over-leveled'. maintain the chain with the occasional attack from Lightning until Vanille staggers it. you don't have to spend the entire ATB, i could do that in the video because Lightning wouldn't deal enough damage to cause the Behemoth to transform. hope this helped :)
For those having issues with him transforming early, I thought of a way to explain it more clearly. Behemoth will transform after he takes a pre-defined amount of damage. So if he is transforming early its because you're letting Light hit him too much. Her physical dmg is high, but the spells will fill the stagger gauge more per attack, so just dont do jack shit until Vanille blows him up, then spam Light. As you get stronger, you wont want Lightning hitting him at all before he's staggered.
Great method, But you can do this without buffs and at just over 1k hp. Just use Fang (as leader) Vanille and Lightning. And you can just use AGGRESSION ( Fang - Com, Vanille - Ravager and Lightning Com. just make sure you switch paradigms while Fang is in the air to skip the animation. Hope this helps :)
I love how Sazh and Vanille voiced their reluctance to go along with this. This should be easy for me to implement. I'm 100% sure my stats (HP and all) are a good deal higher than what's shown here.
Also if you wish, you can clear the entire Springs with all enemies to go faster. If you want to start over, leave the Springs, heading where Atomos is, and soon as you turn the corner past the glowing green rock to your right, you can turn back and the enemies will be there again. I hope this was a helpful tip. Good luck! ^^
@nicolehasniceneos most players would not have ventured into the Saboteur role for Lightning, and Deprotect requires 21,000 CP. but it's alright, i'll grant you that. it is still impossible for Lightning to take down the Behemoth King by herself with these stats. i'm not claiming this to be the be all and end all video guide to farming CP. it's a one size fits all strategy because virtually everyone would have Haste at this point.
This is a good strat for anyone struggling at the start of chapter 11. I used Rav Com com. Pref with Light, fang, and sazh. I had shit weapons lvl ones exp lights 1st weap on lvl 18. So its easily doable and faster than this. Stagger behemoth king asap x x x straight up. Also have Aurora Scarf * on Light. As soon as he's staggered Fang will be in her 2nd attack and knock him in the air. 8 out of 10 goes it works. If he transforms restart.
If you go inside the cave just a little further and do the first 7 fights you come across, turn around, and do them again, you get about 40,000 cp every 10min or so. The fights are super easy too
@bumbleblym I figured out that I haven't upgraded Sazh's Synergist enough :D Put I got it right and I'm now at chapter 12 and my 3 main chars have 6020, 6405 and 5285 HP and complete lvl 4 on their 3 main classes and over 100000 for future upgrades :) Thank you!
I didn't use the method from the video, but the comment about using sab/syn/sab worked great for me. It looks like a solid place to farm CP. I'm trying the robots in the cave after this fight and it doesn't seem nearly as good. 6600 from the video fight or about 1/3 of it from robots with the same time.
How to beat it in 30 second with low stats- Get Lightnings access to SAB just by getting to first ability (I think it's deprotect or deshell) Part- Lighting, Fang, Sazh 1. SAB SAB SYB 2. COM COM COM 1. use paradigm one and let lighting continuously deprotect on the Behemoth while Fang is SABing away to keep the stagger. Sazh should cast haste one all 3 party members 2. As soon as the Behemoth is staggered, switch the the 2nd paradigm. Lightings should keep attacking and keeping to thing
The best CP spot I've found on Gran Pulse is actually near that save point at the beginning of this video...there are only Behemoth King...each battle grants 8000 CP. But if you stay in Orpahn's Craddle fighting the Jabberwocky, Bandersnatch, Wadislaus & Sanctum Templar, you get 32000 CP per battle.
I used Snow instead of Lightning as the COM/RAV user because I maxed out Light's ATB Gauge which then caused the Behemoth to transform into it's powerful form because of the damage she inflicted onto the Behemoth, but either way, I get the same result no matter the cost.

I cant believe i didnt like this video 7 years ago when i used it to farm CP until i was max possible level... and had nothing left to use CP on. I recently purchased the game again on PC... and will be using this exact same video AGAIN to farm CP until i cant obtain anything else with it. AGAIN.
or you could use Light, Vanille, Fang with a Com/Sab/Com. Wait until Vanille either staggers the king or has Deprotect, Deshell, and Imperial on him, and then attack with Lightning. That way he's not transforming because Lightning will be able to launch him. Meanwhile Fang is attacking the wolf to keep it's stagger bar up. This was the quickest way for me.
Ummm. I can't remember the name of it, but its where you ride the Atomos creature around in the tunnels. Everything is brown in that area. There's mechanical enemies and the bomb types.
And just to add, this method is extremely easy. Finished in less than a minute, no need for extreme paradigm switching just to heal myself, and nearly effortless. (so yeah, to the lone behemoth king at the start, I tried beating that guy the moment I entered Archelyte Steppe. Not only did I die, I spent minutes switching paradigms just to heal myself).
i can do around 50-60k damage with light on this! around 470STR-306Mag Lvl 7 Gladius with the same equipment as posted here. i always knew Sazh was good for his Haste ability. glad im using Vanille more than hope now. Good video, thumbs up, and favorited!
The best place is actually Sulyya Springs. After that secret cutscene, more enemies will appear. Also, if you have the Growth Egg equipped, your CP points will double. For instance when I first enter the Springs and encounter the enemies to the left (this is after that cutscene), I will get a little over 1,600 CP. Make sure your party is strong. I suggest you do this after you have beaten the final boss so you can reach a role level of 5. Not all roles have to be up to 5 for each character. Als
@nicolekellie1 Don't attack him more than 4 times because he turns forms due to the amount of damage not time. So before staggering him attack him like 3 or 4 times.
My strategy, and the one that worked the best, was Fang Vanille and Sahz going Sab/Sab/Syn and focusing Behemot right away (for some odd reason Fang will keep atacking the wolf, so they both get staggered realy quick) then change to Com/Rav/Rav and with Fang using launch the behemot wont trnsform and he'd die before getting out of stagger, the wolf is quite anoying but he also dies pretty quick with Launch and if he's still alive smite should finish him when the stagger fells
For the people that seem to be having trouble with this CP farming spot, take into consideration a few things: 1) Ironically enough you might be hitting just too hard. There is a reason why you wait for Vianille to stagger the King. If it takes too much DMG it transforms, and you don't want that. 2) Your ATB gauge. If you have 5 ATB's available, this could be a problem, in which I ran into. ( Simply choose the action "Attack" once for Light, then let Vanille stagger King, Change to COM/RAV/RAV.)
Used this strategy last night and it worked like a charm once I figured out I had mistakenly put Lightning as a Rav instead of Com in the Rav/Rav/Com paradigm 🤣- once I fixed that, it was easy peasy. In just over an hour I was able unlock additional ATB gauges for Lightning and Sazh and then learned another valuable lesson. Don't let Lightning hit 5x or else the Behemoth will automatically transform before you can stagger and get it off of the ground while in the "Bully" paradigm (Com/Syn/Sab). Just hit once and cancel while you let Sazh cast Haste and Vanille cast Deprotect/Deshell/Imperil (assuming you have them by this point). I plan to keep using this spot over the next few days to fully max out everyone's main paradigms and then go get the Growth Egg to bank extra CP for end game/post game grinding - each battle takes 1.1 minutes on average, so it's effortless once you have the technique down! tnx so much for this video, I was about to quit this game because I couldn't beat some square robot at the caves (chapter 11), this way I will get stronger to face him again and continue the game....i really apreciatte it.
not sure if this applies to everyone but i can beat a single king behemoth in 30 seconds with a surprise attack for 4000 points while this takes me around a minute for 6600 points and its slightly more complicated and dangerous than the single behemoth fight I start the surprise attack with com/rav/rav until it staggers then i switch to com/sab/syn to buff and debuff and finish him with the damage of the com. have 2x +50 damage acc equiped on him for maximum of damage so hes dead when the stagger gauge is at half and i have barely grinded up to that point i just did every fight i encountered until then
Till light staggers it then go com com syn so u can kill behemoth and hope will give u enfire after you killed behemoth switch to an paradriim with fang as an sab and llet fang cast fog and pain on him the result will be that the tiger cant attack or use magic and it last for around 2 min so you can easely beet him fog and pain should stick on him dependimg what items you use but just normal wep no acc is most of the time in the 2th attack round
Took me about 15 minutes to get it down. You definitely want Sazh as SYN so you get haste and COM with launch and any RAV with decent magic. ( I use Snow COM leader, Sazh SYN, Vanielle RAV. You select ONE atb bar worth of attack and use it. Then fill up your ATB guage with attack and wait til Vanielle staggers him or is using the spell that will stagger him, do all the attacks then fill up your ATB with only TWO!! attack commands and do that until he's dead any more then 3 gets him to transform.
Actually this grinding post is effective only if u want to make the grand pulse missions BEFORE finishing chap 13. If not, u can just enter the mine after these two monsters and, in the first part of the mine, u can easily make 200k PC per hour, just by defeating cryo bombos and hoplites. There's even a fight u can get 7100 PC in 30 seconds.
I am a bit too strong to start attacking, so I did as you said: I waited for Vanille to stagger it. The problem is: after I change paradigm, Lightning launches behemoth once, but in the next turn, after he hit the floor, she don't launches him anymore, so he recovers and transform.
It's been 12 years and here I am grinding again, this time in 4K on a Series X. What a game!

If he transforms, you're dead. I do this by med,syn,sab > com, rav, rav. Then the second beast: med, syn, sab > rav, rav, rav > com, rav, rav. When com, always use ability to do attack, so Lightning will always do launch.
Just picked up this game and this is the best spot to grind for CP

for those that may still be here, don't upgrade lightning's atb to 5 while doing this. auto attacking 4 times wont make behemoth transform, but auto attacking 5 times will, so youll have to attack maybe once or twice then wait for vanille to stagger it. its still possible just makes it more convenient
I did it and honestly it's made it faster-
I'm using lightning, Saaz, and Vanille.
I had around a 20% chance to trigger the transformation on behemoth, forcing a retry.
After that, I haven't gotten a transformation even 2-3 hours later.
My strategy is to start with Saaz buffing himself and lightning with haste, make sure to hit behemoth once with lightning to avoid loosing stagger! Then going COM/RAV/RAV, wait for Saaz and Vanille to stagger it, then launch it and keep it in air. It almost never touches ground for more than a second.
So you don't have to have lightning hit him more than once, 1 or 2 is plenty. It's more risky than it is worth trying lol

okay this video was meant to help out under-leveled players. you can always adapt the strategy if this doesn't work out for you:
if the behemoth transforms too early, start with COM/RAV/RAV. wait for them to stagger before you Launch it.
consider using Vanille as a Ravager instead of Saboteur to Stagger the Megistotherian faster, if you don't need the debuffs.
When I got here I was just at the point where I was too strong to manage the stagger to health ratio of the BK to keep him from transforming but not strong enough to handle him once he transformed. After some experimentation and a lot of dying I found a pretty creditable way of taking him out post transformation.
The video method is perfect if you are not at the just barely too strong tipping point, if you are (Lighting's STR was 437 when I got here) try this. Stick with Com>Rav>Syn to start, if you are at this too strong tipping point then no matter how you mnage the first attacks or what you let V do the BK alwasy changes. Just keep hitting him until he does and he staggers. One the BK staggers switch to Com>Sab>Syn, load the BK with Deprotect, Deshell, and Imperil and then switch to Rav>Rav>Rav and blow him out of the water. After the BK is dead, continue with the Meg as the video describes.

This was very helpful. All the other guides were useless to me because everyone was already fully developed and really strong so they just breezed through everything. I was pretty much at the same level you were at when I got to this level. This guide definitely helped me.
PLEASE NOTE: If you attack the King Behemoth 5 times instead of 4 before he gets staggered it seems to trigger the transformation...so if you have 5 ATB...manually put in 4 attacks, not 5.

Fantastic tutorial! I've got stats about 100 higher than in your video and the battle is extremely easy. Definitely a good setup and very easy to get the respawn. Excellent work!
How tho? I spent several hours farming Gil in chapter 9 to upgrade everything and have 500 to 800 Strength/Magic on 3 characters and the most damage I hit on the enemies here in chapter 9 is like 5k with stagger. How are you and the OP hitting like 15k hits with like 1/8th of my stats?

@SMDpeps Pretty much yeah, it's in the large plains as soon as you enter it and you get the ability to do Cei'th Stone quests, very early in the chapter.

I also found another good spot, but you need to have a better CP progression. Inside the area where you have to go to, which is right down the hill and to the right, which is right after the battle in this video, progress through the cave until it splits into 2 paths at a save/shop point. Go left. Go until the end when you see a big closed gate. There should be a group of Automatons. That would be it. Kill them, walk to the big closed gate, enter the battle, hit retry, then fight the Automatons.

For those who might ask, it might be valid to have Lightning get the 5 ATB despite multiple comments saying not to. charge *you can save before getting in case it doesn't pan out*
Just have Saaz Buff lightning with haste and your pretty much good to go as soon as it's staggered.
*its not worth buffing vanille, as it just wastes time ans she doesnt do too much damage anyway, but do what works for you!*

Fang is better because she can tank attacks and her damage is the best, when she can able to use magic, Snow for me is useless (except in the battle with juctuar or the big Cactuar, you will need 2 tanks so the lider cannot be damaged)
@Dantedevil56Gunz it's actually a Treasure Sphere drop back in Chapter 02: The Pulse Vestige. you'll eventually need it for the Treasure Hunter trophy/achievement, but luckily you can purchase this one from the weapon shop. do check if you missed the other items that cannot be found in the shops though!

Have light stagger each of the beasts with 'deprotect' her first sab. Stagger behemoth first, than dog thing. Takes like 2 hits, and doesn't cause behmoth to switch cause of low damage points.
Switch to 2, have light go after behemoth and fang with auto take on the dog.
45 seconds tops for when I first got to pulse. 23 with main 3 paradigms maxed.
That's my strategy :)

If you're further on the game you should use lightning (com) snow (rav) Hope (syn)
Lightings should keep attacking and keep the behemoth launched until it dies. Sometimes fang will help, sometimes Sazh will help. COM's randomly choose which enemy to fight when you aren't controlling them.
3. Behemoth is dead without changing, now just get rid of the dog thing.
Battle lasts any where between 23-32 seconds for me when I was on level 3.
Hi! Thanks, this is great! I just reached Gran Pulse and I died on every battle with the Behemoth King! LOL But I think I've found an excelent farming spot very near. Unfortunately, I can't record a video, but it's easy to find and understand the method. You must ignore the fight between the BK and the Megistotherian and you will find another save station at Mah'habara. Just after you find 3 Hoplites. Kill them, continue and find 2 Hoplites, kill them too and turn back (this is the point of respawn of the first 3 Hoplites). With Show or Lightning, Hope and Vanille (COM/RAV/RAV). It's very east get Preemptive, the auto-battle give Blitz x2 and Thunder (if you prefer, hit Hoplite C for a fastest battle possible). And as you get stronger via Crystarium, you can get 4 seconds of battle duration and a short turn arond for respawn. I get 999999 CP in a few hours. =) It's very fast and you can also get Weapon Upgrades and Gil too (using or selling Solenoid and Analog Circuit).
There's more farther in when you are ready for the bombs there(which also give loads of CP and lead up to a juggernaut that you will more than likely not be ready for, but if you initiate the cutscene and then hit retry after you are in battle, every enemy will be respawned(if you kill it, absolutely no enemies in the area will respawn), and if you kill all the hoplites up to the boxed phalanx, get it's attention BUT DO NOT ENTER BATTLE WITH IT, and then go back, you usually get even more CP.

For me, the best way to farm CP points is in the sixth tier of taejin's tower wherein the five "Pulsework Gladiators" = 8000 CP walks :D....if you beat them, there is a save point upstairs. After saving the game, press the start button and click select to quit the game. Then load the save game and beat again the the pulseworks. :) hope this helps
to walk a few steps back to the atomos and on your minimap, it will show red dots for a split second than disappear. The enemies have re-spawned and you can continue this method. i got 500K Cp in 2 hours and i have fully leveled up all of the characters main classes Ex: lightning : COM, RAV,MED
You can use the same weapons like in this video, with Snow the power circle will work. Much more Cp faster, more components to upgrade and it is easy to find and do.
I know that this video is old as well as this game but i have recently come back to it and i have forgotten how i used to grind. i used this method until i had 5 ATB segments and then it didnt work.
This is the method i now use which is 3 seconds faster - Lightning, Snow, Sazh
RAV/COM/SYN
COM/RAV/RAV - switch to this after haste has been cast on all members + then kill the behemoth
RAV/RAV/RAV - used to stagger the last enemy
COM/COM/COM - used to kill the last enemy
Just a quick tip for anyone that sees this late. If your like me and your a bit stronger/over leveled compared to the guy in the video, you might have a problem with Behemoth standing up and healing himself. He was doing it almost every time for me.
One thing I tried that seems to work is taking items that increase strength off of Lightning. She had 390 strength so i reduced it to 310. Every now and again he will stand up but its mostly fixed now. I'd recommend her Strength to be around 300 and also not spending your CP on the characters your using to do this so they don't do too much damage.
@MrMaxehh yes, your characters are 'over-leveled'. maintain the chain with the occasional attack from Lightning until Vanille staggers it. you don't have to spend the entire ATB, i could do that in the video because Lightning wouldn't deal enough damage to cause the Behemoth to transform. hope this helped :)
Just found this gem in 2020 whilst playing through one of my favourite games. Helped so much, thank you!!!
For those having issues with him transforming early, I thought of a way to explain it more clearly. Behemoth will transform after he takes a pre-defined amount of damage. So if he is transforming early its because you're letting Light hit him too much. Her physical dmg is high, but the spells will fill the stagger gauge more per attack, so just dont do jack shit until Vanille blows him up, then spam Light. As you get stronger, you wont want Lightning hitting him at all before he's staggered.
Great method, But you can do this without buffs and at just over 1k hp. Just use Fang (as leader) Vanille and Lightning. And you can just use AGGRESSION ( Fang - Com, Vanille - Ravager and Lightning Com. just make sure you switch paradigms while Fang is in the air to skip the animation. Hope this helps :)

This should be easy for me to implement. I'm 100% sure my stats (HP and all) are a good deal higher than what's shown here.
I have my characters on the last tier of their crystarium and this trick always works for me.
Also if you wish, you can clear the entire Springs with all enemies to go faster. If you want to start over, leave the Springs, heading where Atomos is, and soon as you turn the corner past the glowing green rock to your right, you can turn back and the enemies will be there again. I hope this was a helpful tip. Good luck! ^^
@nicolehasniceneos most players would not have ventured into the Saboteur role for Lightning, and Deprotect requires 21,000 CP. but it's alright, i'll grant you that. it is still impossible for Lightning to take down the Behemoth King by herself with these stats.
i'm not claiming this to be the be all and end all video guide to farming CP. it's a one size fits all strategy because virtually everyone would have Haste at this point.

This is a good strat for anyone struggling at the start of chapter 11. I used Rav Com com. Pref with Light, fang, and sazh. I had shit weapons lvl ones exp lights 1st weap on lvl 18. So its easily doable and faster than this. Stagger behemoth king asap x x x straight up. Also have Aurora Scarf * on Light. As soon as he's staggered Fang will be in her 2nd attack and knock him in the air. 8 out of 10 goes it works. If he transforms restart.
If you go inside the cave just a little further and do the first 7 fights you come across, turn around, and do them again, you get about 40,000 cp every 10min or so. The fights are super easy too
@bumbleblym I figured out that I haven't upgraded Sazh's Synergist enough :D Put I got it right and I'm now at chapter 12 and my 3 main chars have 6020, 6405 and 5285 HP and complete lvl 4 on their 3 main classes and over 100000 for future upgrades :) Thank you!
I didn't use the method from the video, but the comment about using sab/syn/sab worked great for me. It looks like a solid place to farm CP. I'm trying the robots in the cave after this fight and it doesn't seem nearly as good. 6600 from the video fight or about 1/3 of it from robots with the same time.
How to beat it in 30 second with low stats-
Get Lightnings access to SAB just by getting to first ability (I think it's deprotect or deshell)
Part- Lighting, Fang, Sazh
1. SAB SAB SYB
2. COM COM COM
1. use paradigm one and let lighting continuously deprotect on the Behemoth while Fang is SABing away to keep the stagger. Sazh should cast haste one all 3 party members
2. As soon as the Behemoth is staggered, switch the the 2nd paradigm. Lightings should keep attacking and keeping to thing
The best CP spot I've found on Gran Pulse is actually near that save point at the beginning of this video...there are only Behemoth King...each battle grants 8000 CP.
But if you stay in Orpahn's Craddle fighting the Jabberwocky, Bandersnatch, Wadislaus & Sanctum Templar, you get 32000 CP per battle.
Hands down the best CP farming spot, for newbies who just entered Gran Pulse!!!

I used Snow instead of Lightning as the COM/RAV user because I maxed out Light's ATB Gauge which then caused the Behemoth to transform into it's powerful form because of the damage she inflicted onto the Behemoth, but either way, I get the same result no matter the cost.

or you could use Light, Vanille, Fang with a Com/Sab/Com. Wait until Vanille either staggers the king or has Deprotect, Deshell, and Imperial on him, and then attack with Lightning. That way he's not transforming because Lightning will be able to launch him. Meanwhile Fang is attacking the wolf to keep it's stagger bar up. This was the quickest way for me.
Ummm. I can't remember the name of it, but its where you ride the Atomos creature around in the tunnels. Everything is brown in that area. There's mechanical enemies and the bomb types.
And just to add, this method is extremely easy. Finished in less than a minute, no need for extreme paradigm switching just to heal myself, and nearly effortless.
(so yeah, to the lone behemoth king at the start, I tried beating that guy the moment I entered Archelyte Steppe. Not only did I die, I spent minutes switching paradigms just to heal myself).

i can do around 50-60k damage with light on this! around 470STR-306Mag Lvl 7 Gladius with the same equipment as posted here. i always knew Sazh was good for his Haste ability. glad im using Vanille more than hope now. Good video, thumbs up, and favorited!

Worked like a charm. Just maxed out Lightnings stats.
The best place is actually Sulyya Springs. After that secret cutscene, more enemies will appear. Also, if you have the Growth Egg equipped, your CP points will double. For instance when I first enter the Springs and encounter the enemies to the left (this is after that cutscene), I will get a little over 1,600 CP. Make sure your party is strong. I suggest you do this after you have beaten the final boss so you can reach a role level of 5. Not all roles have to be up to 5 for each character. Als
@nicolekellie1 Don't attack him more than 4 times because he turns forms due to the amount of damage not time. So before staggering him attack him like 3 or 4 times.
My strategy, and the one that worked the best, was Fang Vanille and Sahz going Sab/Sab/Syn and focusing Behemot right away (for some odd reason Fang will keep atacking the wolf, so they both get staggered realy quick) then change to Com/Rav/Rav and with Fang using launch the behemot wont trnsform and he'd die before getting out of stagger, the wolf is quite anoying but he also dies pretty quick with Launch and if he's still alive smite should finish him when the stagger fells
you did an amazing job, not only showing what to do, or how to do it. But also the way how you do it, keep going on ^_^
For the people that seem to be having trouble with this CP farming spot, take into consideration a few things:
1) Ironically enough you might be hitting just too hard. There is a reason why you wait for Vianille to stagger the King. If it takes too much DMG it transforms, and you don't want that.
2) Your ATB gauge. If you have 5 ATB's available, this could be a problem, in which I ran into. ( Simply choose the action "Attack" once for Light, then let Vanille stagger King, Change to COM/RAV/RAV.)

Used this strategy last night and it worked like a charm once I figured out I had mistakenly put Lightning as a Rav instead of Com in the Rav/Rav/Com paradigm 🤣- once I fixed that, it was easy peasy. In just over an hour I was able unlock additional ATB gauges for Lightning and Sazh and then learned another valuable lesson. Don't let Lightning hit 5x or else the Behemoth will automatically transform before you can stagger and get it off of the ground while in the "Bully" paradigm (Com/Syn/Sab). Just hit once and cancel while you let Sazh cast Haste and Vanille cast Deprotect/Deshell/Imperil (assuming you have them by this point). I plan to keep using this spot over the next few days to fully max out everyone's main paradigms and then go get the Growth Egg to bank extra CP for end game/post game grinding - each battle takes 1.1 minutes on average, so it's effortless once you have the technique down! Thanks again!

Help! When I stagger the behemoth he stands up and fully heals even following this video to a T
not sure if this applies to everyone but i can beat a single king behemoth in 30 seconds with a surprise attack for 4000 points while this takes me around a minute for 6600 points and its slightly more complicated and dangerous than the single behemoth fight
I start the surprise attack with com/rav/rav until it staggers then i switch to com/sab/syn to buff and debuff and finish him with the damage of the com. have 2x +50 damage acc equiped on him for maximum of damage so hes dead when the stagger gauge is at half and i have barely grinded up to that point i just did every fight i encountered until then
Till light staggers it then go com com syn so u can kill behemoth and hope will give u enfire after you killed behemoth switch to an paradriim with fang as an sab and llet fang cast fog and pain on him the result will be that the tiger cant attack or use magic and it last for around 2 min so you can easely beet him fog and pain should stick on him dependimg what items you use but just normal wep no acc is most of the time in the 2th attack round
Took me about 15 minutes to get it down. You definitely want Sazh as SYN so you get haste and COM with launch and any RAV with decent magic. ( I use Snow COM leader, Sazh SYN, Vanielle RAV. You select ONE atb bar worth of attack and use it. Then fill up your ATB guage with attack and wait til Vanielle staggers him or is using the spell that will stagger him, do all the attacks then fill up your ATB with only TWO!! attack commands and do that until he's dead any more then 3 gets him to transform.
Actually this grinding post is effective only if u want to make the grand pulse missions BEFORE finishing chap 13.
If not, u can just enter the mine after these two monsters and, in the first part of the mine, u can easily make 200k PC per hour, just by defeating cryo bombos and hoplites. There's even a fight u can get 7100 PC in 30 seconds.
If you do it RIGHT when you get to the area, then you need Sazh because he's the only character you have haste for.
I am a bit too strong to start attacking, so I did as you said: I waited for Vanille to stagger it. The problem is: after I change paradigm, Lightning launches behemoth once, but in the next turn, after he hit the floor, she don't launches him anymore, so he recovers and transform.
