"I think i speak on behalf of everyone in the country when i say what a lovely contribution youve made to our lives.." that was such a genuine thing to say...johnathan ross is great!
Lol if you know anything about Jonathan Ross, you'd be practically certain that he's read the books. He's one of the worlds largest fantasy and sci-fi geeks.
Am I the only one who never saw Harry Potter as a childrens book series? I mean yeah I started reading it as a kid but I enjoy it so much more as an adult and it's the only childrens book series that I still read. She ended it perfectly. I can sort of understand why people want more on it but I feel like there needs to be a point where it ends and the rest is up to our imagination. In my opinion it couldn't of had a better ending.
Well, they're calling it a children's book because the don't have the YA categorization as much over there, but it's YA. It's a series for Tweens and Teens. The content, complexity, and thematic material of the series is too mature for an audience of children, and the series has a primary readership of teens and young adults.
I think adults take to many things away from children, it is a children's book, I don't understand why it should Souly be an adult book, when children need to be educated, its a literary work and if adults keep taking away children's treasures it would be a disaster, so no its a children's literary book for a reason and we should be teaching children that bad things do happen in life through their favourite characters so they have a comforting link between the bad things that do happen. The only reason adults don't like it as a children's book is because of the bad things and we dont want to teach children this because its to hard and it is, but that's why they should read it, because we can't always teach them the bad things in words, but through a fantasy a through their hero they can learn this, so it should 100% be a children's book. Adults shouldn't feel ashamed to love a child's book, there's equally nothing wrong with escaping to your childhood .

MissPlease For some reason a lot of comments were removed as Spam. One of them was flaming England and saying what a wonderful country America is and bla bla bla. I mean I have nothing against America but Britain IS like 10 times better and America isn't really that a good country... (Referring to the U.S not America in a total)
I don't know how I could miss this interview for such a long time. It was amazing, first e for all because FINALLY the interviewer knew what Harry Potter REALLY was!!!
I am such huge admirer of JK rowling and her country Britain.. Seriously, such a small isle contributed immensely to humanity.. I wish I was born in this beautiful country.
ralert353 Thank you. We're a single country made up of three countries and part of a fourth,so people - including many British people - get very confused.
Caro Roberts I was exactly the same. At the point Harry had seen Snape's memories in the Pensieve, and was walking through the Forbidden Forest thinking he was going to die, my heart was literally pounding. I actually thought it was all about to end. J.K.Rowling has a power for telling a story like nobody has ever had.
Man i just love this! I'm really happy that everything was kept British! I think i adds something special. This would have been so so different in America i think.
I love the HP books, and in particular Stephen Fry reading them on Audio books. But for me the movies are just to commercial. Can't wait for the BBC to do Harry Potter. Imagine Harry Potter made with the quality of Game of Thrones.
7:30 - Interesting... I got my hands on a digital copy of Deathly Hallows a day before it released as well. Had it coming in the mail but didn't want to wait!
I bet that the chapter she sobbed her heart out at was The Prince's Tale. I can't even put a straight face thinking about that bit and now having the knowledge that Rowling did too doesn't help much. I'm Dying T_T
their conversation reminds a very old philosophical question: between saving a wise old man and a baby from certain death, what would your choice be... I always chose the wise old man... I think Ross chose the kid
they were quite right that boy wouldnt be attracted by a book written by a women. I have to admit she's about the only women I ever read and books written by women I usually dont finish.
Obviously because she doesn't know how she will feel about it in the future! If you listened closely you would've heard her say 'it's unlikey', though.
"I think i speak on behalf of everyone in the country when i say what a lovely contribution youve made to our lives.." that was such a genuine thing to say...johnathan ross is great!
Sam Prost not the country, but whole world :з
Sometimes I just look at her, don't even listen to what she says and I say to myself 'That woman invented the world of Harry Potter'
Marie Bdo Yeah! It’s almost difficult to see her as a regular human being. In a very tangible sense she’s... a goddess. You know?
She's a beautiful person inside *and* out. Just an all-around perfect human being
Really good interview, you can tell Jonathan genuinely loves the books.
Lol if you know anything about Jonathan Ross, you'd be practically certain that he's read the books. He's one of the worlds largest fantasy and sci-fi geeks.
She is so beautiful :')
Inside and out.
An amazing thing like Harry Potter could not have come out of anyone else in such perfection.
I love how Jonathan lightens up things always
+Raj Vaidya He's just a genius at getting his guests to relax and be themselves. It's so refreshing.
J K Rowling is a legend of all legends, she has made this world better with her incredible mind and talent, thank you Jo God Bless Harry Potter.
mr arican Is* and it’s just not. Also thanks for the unsolicited opinion.

By over there, I mean Britain
most british people read it when they are very young lol

@@bellatrixlestrangify Not really. I mean, I read the series when I was seven years old and understood it fine.

This would never be allowed in america, I have a new found love for british interviews xD
Squeakerification Free health care isn't allowed in the US either, doesn't mean it's a good thing. Nor a good country anyway.
I was actually mostly referring to the previous commenter though I think his comment got Banned or sth like that
Dave Krawn
Wait - what?

JK Rowling is actually really attractive.
+Blake I'd bang.

MILF qualified over 45 for teenagers. to them she is one. MILF!
Awwwww, Jo. She's so shy and adorable. (And brilliant. But we all know that...)
I don't know how I could miss this interview for such a long time.

I wish I was born in this beautiful country.
Britain is not a country.
Oh well
ralert353 Thank you. We're a single country made up of three countries and part of a fourth,so people - including many British people - get very confused.
I was born there, yay me
ralert353 it's really not that great but thanks :D
brits are the best omg this interview is fantastic.
I fucking hate Brits. They're already arrogant as it is, and all we Americans do is implode their egos some more
Right,...... and Americans aren't egocentric at all.
Aww thank you ^_^
Great interview - funny, and a great dynamic between the two. Never get tired of seeing her interviews.
she's so beautiful, i love her so very much
I cried when Harry was walking to his death because I truly believed be was gonna die and I couldn't bear it.
Caro Roberts I was exactly the same. I was crying madly. God!
"A struggling children's writer" 😂😂
cheeky challer no shit dickhead
It's JK Wowling!
I was going to make the same comment, hilarious !
'I wead the books'
Literally one of the best thing to come out of 🇬🇧
So glad that all of the characters were British. American drawl would have ruined the films for me.
LA P Im American and I say, I agree 100%
LA P Me too that it's originally British!
Too bad Johnny Depp has tarnished the Wizarding World!
@11:00....I think GRR Martin will know the feeling, if he ever DOES finish the series.
Great interview! I love her authenticity. What a beautiful soul! ❤
She's totally a beautifully magical human being...
Man i just love this! I'm really happy that everything was kept British! I think i adds something special. This would have been so so different in America i think.
She is absolutely gorgeous. Wow
J K Rowling is gorgeous, she could make me believe in magic any day!
She's very pretty, even at her age. But you can tell she's had quite a bit of grief in her past life.
oooof what a milf
JK Rowling is an incredible, legendary, gorgeous woman.
She is just so wonderful! Thanks for posting!
When she said "in ten years time who knows if id want to return" its been 10 years and Im still waiting
she is so amazing...
5:04 lmao, I miss the old Jonathan Ross.
I watched this when it was on the telly, lol :) I was so excited about the last book. Oh, the memories...
My queen! I would love it if she wrote a book or two based on Voldemorts rise to power and everything building up to the potters deaths
Jonathan Ross, you are fabulous! I just laughed tears! Thank you!
"F*ck-off-uanus". LOL F*ck off u anus. I love how Rowling cracks up at the more rude and naughty jokes. 5:05
the chapter that made her cry was Snape's death :'( i cried too :(
+Rob Moses the chapter was Harry walking to his death which she has said in several interviews
Jo is a genius with words and an inspiration for every person (respect is the least we can give her for what she has given us)
Jonatha Ross at the absolute apotheosis of his chat show career!!! Jk Rowling is magically sweet as well.
Αt 8:10 he reminds me of Peter Pettigrew.
+Silmarien Ingoldo I thought exactly the same! xd
jaaa17 LMAO xD
Silmarien Ingoldo same
I thought this too lol
I wanted to write that lol
Ross talking 10 times more than JK
Awwww. My woman was nervous in this one. She was still beautiful and intelligent! Love me my Jo!
My god she is a stunner.
It's so sad they don't know dobby dies.
For anyone wondering, the last sentence in The Deathly Hallows is "all is well".
Love this, was such a magical time when I first watched it :)
SHES QUEEN
I love the HP books, and in particular Stephen Fry reading them on Audio books.
But for me the movies are just to commercial.
Can't wait for the BBC to do Harry Potter.
Imagine Harry Potter made with the quality of Game of Thrones.
The BBC don’t have the budget to do something as big as Game of Thrones. It’s a public service corporation, whereas HBO is a pay television service.
Our queen....love you a lot...❤️
Such a cute interview! It's nice to see her laughing like that.
She always appears so sad to me :( Love her.
My queen
aaw shes so lovely
I love her
7:30 - Interesting...
I got my hands on a digital copy of Deathly Hallows a day before it released as well. Had it coming in the mail but didn't want to wait!
Haha after S20 of South Park I can't not see those purple blobs on Wossy's screen saver as Member Berries. "Member Harry Potter? Ohhh, I member!"
lol I miss Ross taking the piss out of Lineker at any opportunity
Oh god. That hyper-camp rendition of _Could It Be Magic_. Someone get a monumental mason on the line, I think I might be needing their services soon.
The very last word of Harry Potter and the deathly hallows is: well
it's ""ALL WAS WELL""
Aftab Alam
That's not a word xD
The last word isn't important without the rest of the sentence.
"I always said I would never said never" 12.50: Newt and Fantastic Beast was already in her mind then?
say*
Love me some JK rowling. FUCK.
She seems a wonderful person :D
I love Jo
love you Jo!
Why does no one ask stuff like "Do you plan to write a book about Tom riddles days" I would love to know if she would ever do a prequel
10 years ago woah
"F**k offiamus!" I completely lost if after hearing that!! XD
I really like jk rowling and her writing.
so true she's an author by name but I view her as a cardiothoractic surgeon
Richer than the Queen
Lol thanx, saved me the google search.
She was actually talking about "The Forest Again".
Long live J.K.Rowling
She IS a wonderful person :D
She said on her website that she cried in the chapter when harry "temporarily died".It was, i think, "The forest again".
they were quite right that boy wouldnt be attracted by a book written by a women. I have to admit she's about the only women I ever read and books written by women I usually dont finish.
I bet that chapter near the end which made her cry was when she killed Fred!
Sweetie.
Anyone jealous of her Husband? It's not just cause she is hot, She is the world's best writer! Richer than the queen, the say.
Wow what a woman she is 💜
How amazing it would be to be in her family and get the whole Wizarding World at universal closed just for you for one day
They ARE children's books which can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Even JKR says that they are children's books.
I wonder which chapter she was referring to when she said writing it made her bawl her eyes out
The forest again
No I'd be jealous because she seems like an amazing woman.
At 4:03 Anyone know which two characters she originally wasn't going to kill off?
Lupin was one. Don't know the other though
Jack Brown ahhh, I thought he would have been one of them.
"fuckoffiarnus" lol, awesome
You got a point....
Yes. Yes it is. I'm not stupid.
Beautiful woman
Obviously because she doesn't know how she will feel about it in the future! If you listened closely you would've heard her say 'it's unlikey', though.
I'm just like....ITS FLIPPING 609 PAGES!!!!!
she's the best
What if the lasts words were "and then it prickled." Because he was thinking about how scar hadn't hurt him for 19 years :P
Which Judy Blume book is he talking about?
Is she wearing fully fashioned seamed nylon stockings?
9:54 very short clip, I must say.
