I like how the Armageddon scene turned into a huge Multiversal War fighting different variations of the kombatants. I was thinking the consequences about all of them from different eras and timelines fighting for control over it, like it would destroy reality.
I wonder if that means Onaga’s and Shinnoks endings from MK Deception and MKX are canon then where Onaga became the one being and Shinnok awaking the one being in his ending.
Even if you hate the 3D era, you can't deny that Mortal Kombat Armageddon intro is one of the most epic in the entire franchise. Good to see that they brought this back for Mortal Kombat 1. Finally, NRS is giving the 3D era more space in the series ❤❤❤😊😊😊
I guess my first gripe is alotta these characters can fly. How would that not been a factor. Just a bunch of nitaras, the 2 raidens, titan lius. And half the ground guys tryna snipe them down. They cameo’d the mkx squad. At least the 1st gen are half kameo, half playable.
Gotta be honest, when this scene showed, I was worried we were gonna have a repeat of the beginning of mk9 where everyone is dead, shao khan kills raiden and everything ends. Glad we got a different happier outcome. Love this story!
4 things: 1. The bad giys running down the stairs was hilarious 2. Those character mashups were the best thing MK has ever done. Lightning tanya, sub zero quanchi, sonya with kano's laser eye etc. Awesome idea 3. I'm surprised versions of characters from previous games werent here. Woulda been really cool seeing deadly alliance or deception versions of the characters 4. Story was cool but the finale was lacking pretty hard. Like it just felt really fast and didn't really have any big moments. Shang tsung could've at least had a much better death than just turning into sand again
yeah, the end is cool, but stupid and too soon. should have saved this ending for later after couple games of the new reboot story had to time flesh out

When I saw 1:57 for the first time, because of the slight delay between Quan Chi walking out and the others following him, for a few moments I legit thought that the "hell" Shang Tsung unleashed on that entire army was just gonna be Quan Chi.
I honestly like MK1's story more, not because of it's story in general, but because of how utterly amazing the scenery looks! The Hanging Gardens, Sun Do, even the Tarkaten Colony, all amazing!
Seems like Liu Kang doesn't understand how his powers work or timelines work either because Lord Havik showing up after this battle and the timeline is still intact and he can walk around the aftermath of this battle shows these realms still exist even after a titan dies.

Titan Shang Tsung either absorbed the Hourglass's power so that he basically is it or it was off screen, but him dying and having absorbed its power would cause the timeline to collapse. Every Titan has a mastery over the Hourglass and can hold up a timeline without it, they just can't restart history or determine other time related stuff. Titan Havik held up the timeline after Lui Kang and everybody left, hence why it was fine in the ending cutscene. He probably let it collapse afterwards.
So everyone fighting at the end...how did they know they are fighting someone on their side or the other or was it just an all out brawl and hopefully you are fighting the right enemy lol

I gotta say, the expression animations done in this games' characters are top tier. Very expressive, lively and not at all stiff. One of the many complaints I had with Spider-Man 2.
I guess once you've seen one guy erased from existence you've seen them all but the thought that the peaceful way is just straight up turning their essence to dust. Pretty cool to me man 🤷🏽

Takeda is a definite yes since he's part of Kombat Pack 1. Kung Jin is mentioned in some of Kung Lao's intros, so he definitely exists. Jax, outside of assist, only shows up as a character during Kenshi's ending. It wouldn't be out of the ordinary to think that Jax has a teenage or college age daughter. Cassie Cage is a little bit tricky. Johnny was married to a different woman who showed up during the beginning of his chapter before leaving him. It's not impossible to think that Johnny could have a teenage daughter with that wife, and that daughter is either in boarding school or college during the events of the story, it just means if its Cassie, she has no relation to Sonya Blade.
If i was a mk character id be a mage, with a tendency to regenerate even after brutality. Power set: magic, all dark and light, mostly arcane-elemental-teleportation; players would likely favour ripping portals, there would be three types of players: the ones who aim for brutality vs me, the ones who main me, and the ones who wont even play against me. Its not that i cant be killed; its that i just dont stay dead, a special property of my mage powers. Im chaotic good, but tend to enjoy fighting to much and revel in my defeat, meaning each brutality shows me smiling and winking at the players ang giving my defeating player the finger.

The final third was like a bad acid trip of fan service no one asked for. And Janet cage as a DLC?! Like really? Fuck this game and this franchise.
Ok so I'm gonna say this right here and right now. Mortal Kombat 1 story is a joke. It is slowly turning in to marvel cinematic universe, but here it is not the problem. The problem in MK1 story is the fact that, it started great but after the middle of the story, the rest of it is a mixed bag of shit. And ending is so f-cked up that, I rather eat half rotten apple than watch what they did. Like, from the start of the story I was thinking that finally we got a new story. But later, after half of it it felt like writers for MK1 story had brain fart and had nothing better to do than turn it in to a freaking mugen. If you don't know what mugen is, then for short: it's a free fighting game engine, where anyone can create their 2D fighting game. And if you want a mixed bag MK game then check mugen MK Chaotic New Era. Over billion of characters and half of them has nothing to do with MK. And that is how MK1 story felt mid story. Sure, not right away but still, it felt like a mixed bag of everything. Sure, the story is not the only problem that MK has, thus why I did not pre-ordered it. I watch the whole thing on youtube. Because, I'm not that rich to waste my money to left and right. I rather take care of my health than waste my money on the game, that has bad content, and that got cut in half, and rest of it's pieces gonna be released later. Like those 5 or 6 characters that is in the game and you can fight against them in the story, but they are not playable because they are DLC. And if you saw a Kombat Pack 1 DLC, then you know about who I'm talking about. So yeah, I'll wait until they release everything for the game and then get torrent edition for PC, as a protest against a bad gaming.
