I have a feeling like I am the 1000th😅 who is really waiting for you Noosh to react to the full Supernova songs as it is amazing in 2025!❤🇱🇻From Luxembourg I like Laura Thorn and Luzac.
Hi Noosh, Thank you for your honest review! :) Truly appreciated! If you listened closely, you might have noticed the number 44 in the acapella section-it’s from the car behind you on your shelf! Still we rise 💜 Andrea (singer)😊
from a luxembourger view who likes the ESC: I am a little bit disappounted, that only 2 songs (Luzac and Laura) try to bring a song what is for the competition and not for the radio. My favorite is for sure Laura and I hope that they don't mess up the staging, not like last year Krick. If you watched that song live, the staging was not good and only because of one thing: the stands were lighted up and it wasn't Krick's fault ... Laura could easily win if she will have a great staging, what is more in the hands of LSC then in Laura
I was so excited to watch this! Okay, so "La Poupée Monte Le Son" is a sequel to the 1965 Luxembourg winning entry by Frances Gall, "Poupée de cire, poupée de son" (Doll of Wax, Doll of Sound). The original 1965 song engages in a metaphor where the singer is like a puppet or doll of the composer/producer figure (who is presumably a man), pulling the strings. In Laura Thorn's sequel song, it is a feminist anthem that builds off of the 1965 song "Doll of Wax, Doll of Sound". In Laura's song, it's titled "The Doll Turns Up the Sound". It's the idea that in the 21st century, where we are at today as a society, female artists sing for themselves, unlike back 60 years ago when Frances Gall won Eurovision. They don't let anyone else control them. They produce art they are proud of. No one is pulling their strings. So, it has similar themes to Netta's "Toy" but with lyrics that are 100 times better than "Toy". Luxembourgers will understand that Laura Thorn is alluding to the 1965 song immediately, I imagine.
This selection was such a disappointment, I was hoping that the songs would be more unique compared to last year because this year the artists were allowed to bring their own songs (last year they threw out the songs the artists applied with and replaced them with songwriting camp stuff) but unfortunately it's still very stale.
