I've watched this twice and loved it. Thank you. So lovely.
You're welcome.
Epsom Square where the library, GP and restaurants such as Nando’s, Blacks Burgers, Dia y noche and All Bar one etc is used be until a couple of years back called The Ebbisham Centre so I think the word Ebbisham is strongly connected to Epsom’s history.
There is also another Ebbisham Lane at Walton on the Hill.
Ebbas Ham is the original name
Local to me. Perhaps we can have a joint explore some time.
Always up for that Alan.
You said the Wells is in the middle of Ashtead common. If that were the case then the Wells would be part of Ashtead and not part of Epsom as it is. The wells is entirely within Epsom and mainly surrounded by Epsom common. It is however just on the boundary of Ashtead common with the Rye Brook being the boundary line where it nears the Wells.
I’ve noticed the weird circular housing estate in the woods on maps before - no I know why it’s there - great stuff, Marq - really informative!
Thanks Matthew.
What an extraordinary tale (almost of April 1st category!) - of Epsom Salts. What an strange housing development strangling the old well.
I didn't even know the Well was there until two days ago!
Great work as always.
Thank you.
