Continuing my exploration of the hidden Gems and History in the County of Surrey and in this Video, I’m visiting the Ancient Spring and Well that was the original source of ‘Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate’ otherwise known as Epsom Salts.

Epsom Square where the library, GP and restaurants such as Nando’s, Blacks Burgers, Dia y noche and All Bar one etc is used be until a couple of years back called The Ebbisham Centre so I think the word Ebbisham is strongly connected to Epsom’s history.

You said the Wells is in the middle of Ashtead common. If that were the case then the Wells would be part of Ashtead and not part of Epsom as it is. The wells is entirely within Epsom and mainly surrounded by Epsom common. It is however just on the boundary of Ashtead common with the Rye Brook being the boundary line where it nears the Wells.
