I remember making tons of these with my sweet grandma when I was young! Good to see they are making a comeback! I have TONS of nail polish colours & wire.......naturally! I am a crafter!
This type of flower reminds me of the product we used to buy back in the late 60's and 70's. I believe it was referred to as "Dip It". We bought it in pint paint cans. It came in different colors. You just dipped the wire shapes in the can and let the excess drip off into the can. As long as the shapes were closed, the dip would cover the opening, just like bubble soap.
I have been trying to make these so I had to rewatch your videos, your petals are so perfect and round. My petals are irregular and puny! I think I need a thicker wire, I have been using the tiny wire for the petals too. Thanks again, Miss Secret, for sharing your art.
Just now seeing the tutorial. Absolutely can’t think you enough for this. Have been trying and trying to wrap these and can’t for the life of me get them to wrap right. ❤️❤️
Hi Sigrid, thank you so much for showing us how to do these. I have seen them on pinterest but have never seen a tutorial and yours was perfect! I have tons of old nail polish so watch this space lol. TFS. Hugs, Dee x
I am a total clutz, and tend to make big messes. These flowers are easy enough that even I got it on the first petal I tried! You can do multiple layers, but this changes the look from stained glass to lacquer on metal. Great tutorial!
Sigrid, I am back!!! These boogers are harder than they look. The polish isn't the problem opening them has been my trouble. I rewatched the video as you suggested and saw two things I didn't do like you and it helped! I have one pretty five petaled flower and a bunch of odd shaped possibilities! and sore fingers. You are right about another thing, they are addicting. : ))
Awesome, Beautiful first time I saw this being done thank you for sharing I'm off to get wire. I want to show my friends this looks easy enough for a beginner. Thanks Tammi
Wonderful! Many years ago we use to do something similar with the airplane model enamel paint.. We would dunk the wire into the paint and get a similar affect... But your demo is better... I need some tiny white flowers and must give this a try.. will send you the video when done.. thanks a bunch for showing.. cj
Thank you Secret Soto...will be posting your idea on my journaling FB closed group page. Nice idea to embellish our junk journals. Sweet!! ~Evon Robinson :)

Hey Secret.....Love these flowers so much ...I hope to make some... but not sure what size wire I have but gonna check and try to make some thank you so much for sharing...I'm so excited ~Pauline
Hi! I just tried these! I like your way of doing the wire, I'll have to go out and purchase some of the really thin wire. Thanks for sharing this technique! xoxo Jen
Hi SS :) Just had to let you know that I tried it and It Worked !!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah !! thank you so much for the tutorial, it is really fun to do, now I know why you have so many in your box, which is a beautiful box, your daughter did a great job on that :) thank you again for sharing, and Have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Hi there ... I came across your video and I love it! Thanks for a great tutorial..: question... Have you try to make something other than flowers??? I'm attempting to make some butterflies, but the wings are much larger than the flower petals and I'm having a hard time with the nail polish... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I just love how you made your petals!! Way easier and more uniform looking then some other posts I've seen. I was just wondering, what kind of glaze do you use on top after they've dried?? Did you use a glaze on the green one at the end of the video? Because it looked quite strong, shiny and strudy. Or was that just the dry nail polish on its own?? Thanks again!! You've given me some great ideas to play with :) Love your video!
I seen other tutorials with tacky glue and that is what I been doing... But those were epic fails... Do you have a tutorial on the butterflies??? :) I will try to work on it tonight! Wish me luck! Thanks for your videos!
Hello SS :) I saw these a long time ago, and I tried it but could not get it to work. Thank you for the great tutorial, I think I am going to try it again, you showed the process very well :) Thank you for sharing, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
I love your tutorial, but I found using wood glue easier and then after it dries painting them with fingernail polish. Maybe I'm not patient enough. your flowers are very beautiful though 😁

OK, because of you I tried this again and was able to master it! You are just fantastic!
***** I'm already addicted!
I've made about 10 of them. I'd make more because I keep getting high from the polish!

Have you made jewelry with these too? They would be so pretty as barrettes for a wedding. Maybe little orange blossom shaped ones. 🌿
I love these flowers. I don't know if I would have the patience to make them but I do love them. I love that ATC....beautiful.

WONDERFUL! When you layer them up, do you do all the wire wrapping at once of separately then connect them?
Super Cool Video!!!!!! I will be trying this one for sure!! Hugs
