Wow! Thank you so much for sharing this! I was a kid when this flight came. My Mom flew back to NY on this return maiden flight from Jamaica. Back then when we had waving galleries, I recall seeing her walking across the tarmac to the aircraft and finally on taking off, in split seconds in a big boom, it was gone! A very historical moment indeed.
The Concorde was grounded on October, 2003 by British airways and Air France which blamed deteriorating passenger loads and high maintenance costs. Subsequently, the Concorde was retired from service.Apr 3, 2024
My grandma was a air hostess for British airways and she was lucky enough to be on the the concord. She would tell me all sorts of stories about this plane and how unbelievable fast it was. So glad to see a pice of history like this.

I was an ex employee for British airways in the mid 90s when they use to have American crew members in Boston and new york, it was so hard to get a ride on the Concorde for free which you can standby as an employee, finally in 1997 i was lucky to get the last available seat to London. This plane is very fast . All the seats are 2-2 each row which is very accommodating and the food service is unlike anything you will experience on any regular intl flight just spectacular.
I was here on this day. I was one of those kids running around on the waving gallery. And, yes, that was a green Air Jamaica 747 jet in the background 😊.
Just discovered this video. I WAS ON THAT FLIGHT! I flew earlier in the day to JFK from Orlando and flew the Concorde to Montego Bay. I was the only passenger to return back to JFK that same day. The Jamaican tourism board was not happy that I did not stay in Jamaica and that I was only there for the flight!
This is such a lovely look back at the good old days! I was in the airline industry for many years.. but missed the opportunity to fly on the concorde. Thanks for sharing! Now I'm helping to work on flights between Africa and the Caribbean.
