this is perfect for getting into FlexBoxes ! i myself as a juce noob tried exploring into flexboxes without knowing what they actually did, guess i shouldve researched before that. so in theory these are much better than the layout systems right?
thanks for uploading all the talks, really informational and inspiring to hear these. Would also love to see more tutorials on the juce site or even some other media form to explain juce in ways like this talk for flexboxes for example or just short indepth tutorials.
with that, the only problem i have as a noob is learning DSP in/with JUCE. But ive heard somewhere that you guys are working on tutorials on that

Thanks! This talk really got me running to the computer trying the new stuff out.
Are the slides available anywhere? That would be very helpful (also for the other talks)

'mixing layout and graphics with application logic - Is bad!" - unless you are using React :p, even then you can still have a good level of separation of concerns by modularizing a given complex component parts into smaller (dumb) subcomponents. I think most UIs would benefit from a syntax like JSX or XAML.
Loved so much this presentation by the way, really good examples and very informative for someone who wants to get into JUCE and coding more in C++. Im a big fan of Roli too :)

It would be awesome if you guys provided the project examples for download, its hard to read some of this even at HD because of the projector interlace flicker.

agreed - what the presenter spoke about regarding MVC is pretty generic stuff that you can find everywhere online. I wish he could have given more info about how to implement the boilerplate necessary to use this approach in a JUCE app. .NET and similar frameworks provide a ready to go solution for MVC apps but with a JUCE app it's really hard to see how this should be approached. Even the code examples on the slides had been reduced 'for brevity' to the extent that they didn't make sense - The controller code had an 'Engine' member that was never used for example. He should have provided a simple project that could be dl'd to see how it's all wired together in a real project.

What's up with the flickering projector image?

They are sending a progressive image with thin lines to an interlaced stream/recording.

Isn't that Model View Presenter instead of Model View Controller?

Watched it all and have know idea why. I guess to prove code is just a language that only a few can express with any eloquence. In my day. The hot maths teacher was always working it out with a pencil
