      Id like to see more videos myself, but I also think that fewer makes them more interesting. I watch some of the channels that video daily, and the majority of the content is redundant. They are striving to say something new, and it gets boring. I end up playing them on 1.5 speed. I hate to not watch in case there is a nugget of good info, but time is at a premium.

    The TMNT Turtle Balloon never came with figures, it was showing how to use the turtles with it. It's basically a balloon, a handle that can fit 4 figures, and a couple of toy bombs. It's always light, had it been heavy then someone would have accidentally left something else in it.

    Your videos are great. I just started and listed my first item, which was a DVD, and I'm going hunting for more! The only issue is gated items. I'm trying to get around it, but it's annoying. I got a cranium game that's listed very well, but hasbro is saying no. Ugh.

    Out of all the banned Dr Seuss books, I find that exact copy of Mulberry Street the most often.
    Do you realize that you're just a third party supplier for Amazon, fully reliant on the app to tell you what you can and cannot sell? You have no real instinct of value and age (Imaginext and TMNT blimp) after all these years of watching your videos. That's why you passed on the bag of Beyblade. I always grab those up at garage sales and the Goodwill bins. I sourced at two garage sales and an electronics recycling event. I brought home hundreds in profit of items that can't be scanned. You woukd be lost trying to find good things away from your app.

    • @ThriftSchool
      @ThriftSchool  5 місяців тому

      I leverage my time by shipping things into Amazon, I dont have the time or space to mess with every single item that has profit. If I had more time or space I would buy more items like the beyblades and the MLPs. Ive been doing this for over a decade and I buy thousands of items each year without the Amazon Seller app. I do know what Im doing and thats exactly why I choose not to spend what little extra time I have, piecing together lots on ebay when I have boxes and boxes of stuff that need to be pieced together from buys over the years lol. I have done so many bulk buys that there is probably 0 chance I can list everything I have. I had a Tag Sale last Summer to offload a bunch of inventory I knew I would never get to, and I am still overloaded with stuff. Buying is so much easier than selling. I dont want my response to come off sounding rude, I just had a bunch of reasons why I choose to buy and not buy certain items and thought I would lay it all out. If you do have any other questions I try my best to answer everything.

      @@ThriftSchool Thanks for taking the time to give advice! A brief outline of very local conditions to fill our picture in: Local pawn shops are okay for shopping for home use of items, but very seldom a chance of buying to flip profitably. Antique shops also have a low yield, and are (blamelessly) priced up meet the expectations of visitors who can afford to come as tourists, notably from San Francisco & Silicon Valley, etc. There are occasional finds at very small thrift shops run by charities, but not the ubiquitous Salvation Army. Goodwill, even just as I described it, has been our best regular brick & mortar hunting ground. Flea markets have been good IF not full of only new merchandise. Garage sales are boom or bust, and exspenive in time & gas money at Cali prices. In conclusion I'd say that as far as flipping is concerned, you're lucky to live where you do!

    SMH, this is not what goodwill is for. They should ban you. Goodwill is for poor and less fortunate people. You should be ashamed.

    • @ThriftSchool
      @ThriftSchool  5 місяців тому +2

      Not true at all. Also, this isn't even a goodwill, it is a FOR PROFIT thrift store that needs to move items. If I, or the other dozens of resellers that shop at these types of stores, didn't buy this stuff, it would end up in a landfill because it wouldn't sell fast enough and these stores need to put new goods on the shelves multiple times a day.
      My money I spend at stores like Goodwill or Salvation Army that are charities, goes to help their Missions. I support them with my purchases more than most people who buy for themselves. The amount that I buy from these stores is less then a fraction of a percent of what they have on the shelves, so there is always stuff for anyone who doesn't have a lot of money to find stuff for themselves.
      Thirdly, I am teaching people for FREE here on UA-cam how they can make extra money by doing what I show and have helped, what I assume to be, thousands of people make extra money and get them out of their struggles. I have ran into dozens of people at the thrift stores each week and they tell me how much my videos have helped.
      The rhetoric that buying stuff from goodwill and flipping it online is a bad thing is just very misguided and I am doing 10x more good by doing this than bad.
      If you go back to my first videos I had maybe $10 extra to my name that I wanted to turn into more money, I didnt have a car for an extended period of time so I rode my bike. I didnt have a job for a while so I did this. If people who are struggling learn, like I did, that there are ways to make money by doing exactly this, we would have less people struggling.
