The Solway Bore 18th October 2020

During times of high tides and under the right conditions a tidal bore may be observed on the Solway. This section here is the River Eden near the village of Rockcliffe, Cumbria.
High Tide at Bowness on Solway was shown as 1340hrs, the Bore was observed at 1303hrs. A tide height of 9.9m was listed for Silloth indicating a high tide. River water level was moderate with little rain over the last few days. Winds were near calm and air pressure was around 1020hpa and slowly falling.
