From my experience, looksmax started simple where it was about good sleep, less stress, fixing hair your cut, losing acne and just reaching what your genetics can reach... Now its just all these weird sh;t that they just add the word "max" at the end of any word. Prolly the main reason why this became brainrotted. It was such a simple community back then..

Following looksmaxing content really messed with my head. About two years ago, I got caught up in it and developed a serious inferiority complex. I became judgmental and critical so much that it made life feel hopeless. Seeing all those PSL on Instagram made me insecure like crazy. I’m still trying to recover from that.This all is bullshit you can see how people like mgk and nick austin (above avg looks)gets megan type girls.

I mean, losing weight, focusing on sleep health, teeth, and skin care are all forms of looksmaxxing. Looksmaxxing itself isn't inherently bad. It's simply focusing on improving your appearance. It's the hyper-obsession with things you can't change that becomes unhealthy. Fixating on a feature you can't alter, like a negative canthal tilt, and developing self-loathing over it is harmful. As you said, looksmaxxing should focus on aspects that you *can* control, like weight, skin condition, body fat %, grooming, and maybe getting braces if you have bite issues. 70% of the US population is overweight, imagine how many people might be limiting model-tier looks simply because they're fat. When done in a self-aware manner, looksmaxxing (improving your appearance) can be life-changing. Blackpill communities *can* offer some useful advice, such as identifying your flaws and strengths for motivation, but the rest of their ideology is self-destructive. Blackpill is literally the despair pill. But that's how it is in most non-Christian ideologies. They get some things right, but other things not so much...
TLDR; looksmaxxing is fine as long as it's done in a healthy way and you don't neglect other things like focusing on God or your mental health.
Also, the whole "mogging" thing is extremely cringy and prideful. The only person you should be comparing yourself to is your genetic potential.
