Got a 1988 YFM100 champ free from a friend "it just needs a new starter". I'm almost done redoing the top end now and your videos are super helpful. Thank you from sunny California!
With the cylinder wet and throttle open it would have probably gave you closer to 140 with the new cylinder/piston and new valves and head gasket it's basically a brand new top end
What did you use to remove the cap on the area you checked top dead center for piston? I dunno what the cap is called and would like to take it off to check top dead center. Like it looks like i need a mega flat head to be able to take it off or a chisel but I can't seem to figure one that works for the cap.
yeah guys who had er previously were the "magyver" type to solve problems with screws and non standard bolts. Thank you though, i'ma see if a chisel will do.@@VermontLife

Regular flathead. (It shouldn’t be too tight.) If it is really tight I might find a larger flathead, dull chisel. Sounds like yours is a little stuck.

too loose on the exhaust.. feeler needs to drag!
What did you torque the head bolts to?
