I had a fun time making an edgy, cringy tiefling rogue assassin once. His name was Mardigan, with his virtue name being Nobody since he was an orphan who never actually got a new home. He hated that name, so as such named himself. He always seemed so dark and foreboding, sitting alone and talking very softly with strangers.
Thing is, he wasn't at all what he seemed. He was just made to *appear* dark and edgy, but was actually a fun loving, high spirited guy who always shared the loot and valued his friends. I made another player quit by keeping away from the true personality for a while, it was just the character's way; to come off as standoffish and brooding until he found out if the other person was trustworthy or not. Then the real Mardigan would come out.
Poor other player left way too soon. Wouldn't even let me explain myself.
Sounds really fun. And it’s truly a shame that the player that left never got to experience that.
Dark saber being an edgy dbz parody character was funny. I hope the party ran into him a lot.
He also can teleport to the Shadow Realm. Is this huy supposed to be Dragon Ball or Yu-Gi-Oh?
Dark Saber brought two characters to my mind: the name reminded me of Dark Helmet from Space Balls and the voice reminded me of Yajirobe from DBZ abridged.
i dont know if this make me edgy, but i love his things like what he do when you roll a 1 or when you kill Crilin, it feel like little easter eggs on a boss fight, or the secret phases of Cuphead, i dont know
Human pact of the blade hexlock who's REALLY into elvish literature and plays, constantly uses alter self to look like an elf, and quotes his favorite books whenever he does something he thinks is cool.
Also when he Simons his weapon he shouts "HEXCALIBUR"

If I ever play DND, I wanna make a typical edgelord character, All black, gothic and stuff but the twist? He’s an 8 year old. His backstory is something like: He wanted to be knight but his dad said no and he over reacted by becoming a necromancer and running away from home.
I’m tempted to make a character based on Mitchell Shepard from Hunt Down the Freeman so I can yell at everyone that they “FUCKED UP MY FACE!”

By far, the edgiest, most cringy character I've ever seen has to be a rogue one of my friends played. She purposely equipped herself with gear to help her kill the party (and this was *before* she took a contract to kill the party), she murdered people out of pure bloodlust, and she brainwashed two NPCs into obeying her every command. The first NPC, she went to this guy's house, killed his family while he watched, then convinced him it was his fault she had to do it while seducing him next to his dead wife's corpse.
She met her end when one of the PCs who had somehow acquired a bunch of properties left the group and gave her all the deeds. She went to one of them to claim it and an assassin was there waiting for her and killed her. Then The Traveler gave her a chance to come back as a good person, which she took, but she hated being good... so she grabbed her two brainwashed NPCs and huddled together with them in a corner after setting the tavern they were staying in on fire, burning the three of them alive.

My edgiest character was a green dragon sorcerer who inherited his ancestor’s sense of greed and superiority. He wasn’t openly murderous or disruptive to the party he was just aloof and literally always down for murder and theft if the situation called for it. Like, one time the paladin and rogue joked about killing a corrupt ambassador we were forced to work for. They were joking about how they’d do it and my sorcerer chimes in, I can just disintegrate him and clean up the dust afterwards to avoid mess. They didn’t take him seriously, guess what happened the last time they had to speak to said ambassador.
Played with a girl who, when all our characters came out of cryogenic tubes, hid from the rest of us, attacked one of the party members and demanded to know what was going on. (Cryo sleep caused complete memory wipe for all of us) refused to stick with the team, would actively tell us the amount of "friendship points" our characters had, and constantly threatened my character. I was playing a small character who was scared of almost everything. She threatened to kill my character multiple times. Also she refused to give us her name until the gm forced her to. The gm and other player tried to tell me that her character did have a sweet side but I never saw it. Not to mention her opinions and of me and how she treated me irl were similar to how her character did in game so... yeah.
If she attacked the party, the party could have attacked back

@@rompevuevitos222 it was our very first session. Only one other person in the party (not her) had ever played before. I tried to talk her out of attacking us by saying we were in the same boat and yada ya. DM let me roll persuasion because he didn't know how far she was gonna go with it. Luckily it worked.

I think a fun character to play as a paranoid goblin (or something scrawny and small) that has trust issues/scaredy cat with a berserker companion that is dumb but very trusting nature that have been friends since young. This is just a core concept how they play out idk. Imagine doing perception checks on minor things like a stick thinking it may be a snake or a lawful good character actually evil etc etc and the companion being the thing that levels him out from being to overbearing in there paranoia and taking the lead in most things going along with the flow of things

Mine is easily George William Howard Taft RRM Martin III. He was a tendy eating, fedora wearing, katana wielding, trenchcoat wearing neck beard. He did action have a redemption arc, (all in the course of a one shot)

Edgiest Character I ever made is undoubtedly Arkadiy Vascillov. A human Barbarian from an abandoned religious order of warriors from the Great War that took place before a few decades before the events of the campaign.
His tragic backstory was: After losing his childhood sweetheart/wife, he had attempted suicide only to have the (home brew) god of misery suffering and death intervene. The misery Arkadiy radiated was too delicious for the god to lose, so the god cursed him with literal immortality, with a twist. Any pain he ever feels, he feels permanently allowing him to be knocked unconscious easily, but he could never truly die.
During the campaign, he was an old man who had endured the horrors of war that had broken him mentally. He was portrayed from the stories of his past as a ruthless sadistic killing machine known by the two clawed flaming metal gauntlet that had burned onto his flesh and were permanently attached to his arms.
In reality he was actually a strong, brave, kindly 60ish year old man who was trying to give up a life of violence and help others. His pain is immense, but over the years he has actually been able to reverse engineer his curse into a few rudimentary spells. (A minor healing spell that can only be used on others, a single target stun ability, a slight damage buff for when he wanted to really hit hard, and a few others)
The party knew very little of his past, aside from his former title, The Nomad. And he was genuinely a wholesome character to play when the group dynamics began to click. To this day he is still one of my favorites.
I once made a bard that had visions of Earth's music. It did not end well for him. Ended up losing his sanity and confined himself to a prison room so he would stop trying to bash his head open. "The music. It never stops!"
You know you can be super edgy, play it straight and still have it work if you can be more then that.
Have other interests and character traits then what ever your brand of edge is.
Also character develop, please character develop.
Either keep other's interests in mind or be ready to have the party turn on you
You can be an enemy of the party, just know that you won't belong to it anymore after you make your move

he was a kobold rouge (theif becouse shini stealing was fun) he used to be a slave to some sort of nobility that had died (Atleast to his knowledge) he escaped them through luck (tying to the fact I had the luck feat) and by his skills of climbing stealing some supplies in the way, (that explained why he was a rouge) but he was found and blamed for the assasination of the nobility at hold since they had been assassined the same day he escaped he then just went and became an urchin who became antisocial due to the situación we was in and the fact that most people who found him usually reported him, he became a theif and usually wandered over the world looking for a place to stay with no avail (since he didn’t really know about other kobolds) he became a “” lone wolf after that a small party of adventurers found him stalking them and the rest is another toy that’s to large for me to remember, he suffered a lot and actually became somewhat social but shy after warming up to the only party not to betray him, and it was rally funny he was super weak with all bad stats (nothing above a 12) and he was the only one to not die in the adventure.

I have a friend who will only play an edgy warlock. Give them no personality, barely touches on the role play (outside of throwing dice) and when asked for his characters opinion, he always goes with "Which ever method can get it done". Providing 0 feedback into any planning or plotting anyone would be doing. Including the DMs.
Yes, DMs. The group we would play with has at least three DMs involved because of how much dnd everyone enjoyed. It was really a great group, even with the one person who put in bare minimum effort.

As of today, the big bad evil guy I am planning for a dark heresy/only war campaign I'm running, is going to be named "Warmaster" Hark "Orphan-eater/world-burner/heart-smasher." (If you wondering if this is extreme and absurd, then you are correct and probably would love warhammer 40k.) This bbeg will have many rumors about what he has done, hence the names may or may not have any foundation. We'll see how this campaign goes.

Definite the guy who had a backstory where everyone he cared about died and claimed it made him bitter. It says something that he was the one decent person in that group.
Currently making an uber edgey yet not edgey character palidan of the god of pain, covered in scars (like COVERED in scars and perma tortures),claws he pulls out for lay on hands that grow back, can cause himself or others pain to remove peoples pain, he is actually a pretty chill guy that hates seeing others in pain and is totally gonna regale the other players with tales of the weirdos he studied with at the church. I'm also saving him for a group of people I dont know to scare them with the description.

One that I saw that actually pissed me off: a copy/paste of Drizzt except instead of being true to the character he basically shunned the other characters and pulled the racist card at every opportunity

Classic lawful evil rogue assassin, but even edgier
It was so famous that he didn't even need to reveal his identity to contractors and sometimes, other lesser assassin's tried to take his jobs (taking advantage of no one knowing who he was) and got killed due to lack of "skills"
It was for a lvl 20 PvP one shot too
It was the only one to not die cuz the other player went "Now tell me you won't try anything evil again and you can go free, and don't try lying or i'll know" once they won

My tabaxi monk/druid got bitten by a werewolf (by player/DM design) because I wanted to swap my druid levels for order of the lycan blood hunter. He's currently in denial about his werewolf powers and doesn't want to use them, but once he does he's going to act like a total edgelord while in werewolf form. If the party mentions this fact to his normal self, he'll say "OMG. There's no way I'd say anything that cheesy."
TL;DR: Catfolk becomes werewolf. Werewolf half is total edgelord. Cat half denies everything.

OK. Just remember that the transformation shouldn't be nearly as painful or severe as that of a human because you're still staying in the order _carnivora,_ even if you are not staying within the _felidae_ family.

Homebrew race that deals acid damage by touching. Of course the DM said "Fuck It" and threw A TERRASQUE for me to kill. I had acid shot as well as the ability to clone. This is the "Fuck your Terrasque and your Campaign." It was fun :D

I've been working on a fuan warlock character named cricket who's backstory was that the entire population of a city basically kept the fuan population as physical religious scap goats to sacrifice.
Cricket got lucky and was the one that got sent into the wilderness to carry the sins of that city. He made a pact with some sort of devil or demon (still deciding) to gain his magical powers.
He then later found out that the entire fuan population was whipped out due to the city receiving omens of the end and sacrificed them.
He casts his eldritch blast via summoning a chain on one of two manicles permanently sealed on his wrists via the pact. He basically whips the chain around, and the blast shoots out the end of the chain.
The only thing I took away from this video was a joke from the ancient days: "SWORDCHUCKS, YO!"
my SUPER EDGY mouse-furry (some mele type class or range?) is super nice character.
in the start he would be SUPER EDGY, use a DARK mask, DARK hood, DARK armor and say edgy stuff all the time (in combat too) because he have fear of show his true nature because is his firts time away of his home.
his mission is search for his daugther who was took for bandist and lost.
he used oldbooks and the daugther and him had this super foggy idea of the world and they was in love for explore it some day.
finally they head to explore the world, they saw this group of adventurers in the zone and they asked them if they could join the group.
the father was some-naive whit the people because of poor or nothing social experience so he could not see something was wrong (grim smile)
"his party" was ambushed for bandist, he played his part but when he saw back his party used him as shield meanwhile they run away
he got stabed and leaved for dead, his daugther was took away.
when he wake up he followed the bandist to his cap but his cap was destroyed and full of corpses of the bandits
his daugther was not in the bodys ?was took away? for who? where? or she ran away?
from that day he shield inself in this SUPER EDGY mask because he not know the people (no social experience) and jorney in search of his daugther
the more he is whit the party he slowly show his true nature and he will: share his gold for new equip for the party, share loot, helping personal quests or sacrifice. super heartwarming character.
his personal mark is copy the "quotes" or accions of the party because in the end of the day he rly love explore the world and the people living in it.
if he see wonderful places or moments he would drop a single tear of joy and change his face expretion, for that he use a mask and a hood.

Ahahahah, I think I'll refrain from putting mine beyond being a neutral good nature cleric with no issue against necromancy or the undead, and maaayyy have been a closet cannibal. His focus was a mummified rabbit's foot that the barbarian decided to eat as jerky, partly due to the fact I turned the area they were fighting in into a mass of thorny growths. Yeah. I deserved that, even if it did help kill some bandits. (And almost killed the barbarian when a pair of said bandits managed to get some impressive damage on them.) Combine this with his greedy nature and weird habit of trying to 'save' people from certain death if they were defeated (which led to him being punched in the face by a raging Barbarian that wanted to kill the last bandit of that same encounter, flooring him instantly but sparing the bandit for arrest), or even completely ignoring others if it didn't suit his immediate needs. He did still try and do good, though-he was just the most cavalier, casual fellow you could ever meet.
Heck. He even made friends with a few kobolds they were supposed to be rooting out at one point and ended up sharing his rations with the buggers after going on a walk to find ingredients. I never did figure out why the camp burst into flames while I was away, but...hey. At least we didn't have to fight the kobolds.
Funnily, once the group realized that I *may* be a cannibal for whatever gods-forsaken reason, they still ate my character's cooking (I had the Chef perk). They should be thankful I only used monster parts in those dishes if anything weird at all, and I think the only real reason they accepted him anyway was the fact he could give them temporary hitpoints during a long rest, if he had the ingredients to make snacks, but...he was interesting, at least.
Once made a Deep Gnome named Darke Duud because we got surprised with random dnd session.
Characters #1 and #2 sounds like they would make amazing midbosses.
My friend currently plays one of those characters, his backstory was as follows: goblins killed my parents and siblings and village when I was a kid. Nothing further, I asked for three people he would know to tie into the story, he gave me three drinking buddies of increasingly rare races, can't remember details but one of them was a firbolg... there are no firbolgs in my game...

Cringiest well I made Character themed around NSFW themes though so far hasn't turned into a flat pervert Bard type character (not a Bard) given he does have reasons other then simple lust for his actions
I have a rainbow hued peacock kenku who was dumb as mud. He spent a little too much time around edgy PCs and sometimes screams edgelord stuff in his tiny squawky bird voice because the humans saying that seemed cool. Even if it isn't applicable for the situation. He's basically a cat.
I think I got internal bleeding from that edge

I actually made a edgy character recently. I liked the concept of a vengeful fallen angel who copes with her anger and resentment by being like an executionar. her name is Luci'Faer and shes a fallen Aasimer Bloodhunter (edgy i know). She is Lawful Evil because she is still celestial but is turned into the way she was due to others pushing her to do sin. She is a very loyal person, and will fight anyone who hurts her, her trusted guildmates and has a soft spot for young kids.
She will hunt for herself, but will defend her trusted allies. If they break her trust, she will never forget or forgive, but she will not resort to harm.

You don't have to change how the characters behave just so he can be evil, if it steals, murders and the like the party is justified to become hostile against him
This was my first time playing D&D with my friends in high school and I was SUUPER pumped. Now, I don't know much about D&D since i was going by ear and by what the DM told me. So, our characters were pretty normal. I was a mage or something, we had a paladin I believe, and a rogue. However, one of my friends, who wasn't playing, had an OC that was...cringe AF. Basically their OC was part dragon and part human, however they had a kink for dragons so they wanted to Interspecies Review every dragon they saw. Yeah, he wanted to bang a dragon at any cost. He was the cringiest of our friend group and knew a lot of a bunch of anime stuff, but jeez was it hard to talk about stuff without it turning weird.

I made a character who was an edge lord on purpose but it was all BS to make her seem more dark and mysterious because she's insecure about coming from a normal middle class family. She lived a mundane life and only just got into adventuring but wanted to seem cool.
She eventually comes to terms with herself and confesses to the party that her edgy crap has all been a lie.
They just stare and say, yeah we know...
I once created a Drow Bloodhunter/Warlock. Can't get edgier than that. Luckily, the DM pulled a sneaky plot twist at the end of session 0 which turned all PCs into NPCs' animal familiars, so my Drow Bloodhunter/Warlock is now a RAVEN Bloodhunter/Warlock. Still edgy, but definitely more fun.
And I recently created a Yuan-Ti College of Whispers Bard for my roommate's world setting. She's also fairly edgy, but I've fleshed her out to be pretty cool, and I'm absolutely looking forward to playing her.
Nok my human monk. He’s a soldier background that was a child soldier who was taken in by a Shar monastery. He has survived, Sons of the citadel ,storm kings thunder and icewind dale as well as a one shot intern the first two modules. He is your classic brooding emo boy with long black hair and a thousand yard stare, and surprisingly enough he’s still alive. He is my first character and I made him in 2019
Played a dude in Rogue Trader who's wife was m u r d e r e d so he m a s s a c r e d like an entire underhive gang before jumping the metaphorical ship and meeting up with the party. He suggested, when there was a threat of a religious revolt on a station due to a local Necron-tech cult, to trick them all onto ships and get them to go somewhere else. Meanwhile telling the local pirates that they have treasure, so they'll blow them up. I was told we couldn't actually do that.
My player once created an assasin rogue/godsoul sorcerer aasimar. His entire personality was that he was fallen god with amnesia. Oh, he also cant experience emotions because of something. I tried to DM a game with him, but I just couldnt.
My first ever character was a tabaxi druid named Impostor. She has commited two murders and no one knows it was her. I still play her to this day.
Oh yeah, and then there's Undyne, who is literally just a copy of the Undertale character.
Hatchet? I haven't thought about that book in ages, but it was about the kid who's plane went down and he was left with only a hatchet to survive right? His parents got divorced, I think and he was on his way to one of them, and he managed to survive until a plane flew over and he managed to signal it to land. There was also a sequel based on an alternative ending where he wasn't saved right?

My friend and I were twins where he was a healer. He would heal everybody, even the people we defeated telling us he has an Siggotratic Oath to his twin brother ( my name was sigfried), whenever we got a violent encounter we would leave party of unconscious enemies behind. Along the way he even had a nurse dedicated herself following him around. We need a party of 6 , one is always that fucking nurse who is otherwise useless.

I'd say the character closest to cringy is a human fighter named Tirpitz(after the german Battleship). She watched her sister sink in battle(i made Tirpitz based on the game Azur lane, which turns battleships into people). She then gave up and was locked up in a cold cell, and forgot everything about herself, knowing only that she was waiting for... something. At some point she manages to sleep, and wakes up in whatever dnd setting the dm came up wit, again, with no idea she is, and feeling like a massive weight has been lifted of her shoulders, quite literally
The cringiest character I have ever seen by far was a vampire from a text game who was built around his cannibalism fetish (not blood drinking or vorophelia, cannibalism, with all the disturbing details and implications you can think about), and it was pretty obvious that it was an actual player's fetish. I mean, the project was 18+, but not sexual in nature. Still wouldn't be an issue if he could reserve to playing it with people who were into it (which was nobody), but he insisted on forcing this topic everywhere. On top of it, the character was just generally a dick, and the player got med over other characters perceiving him as a dick.
Friend’s new boyfriend made a Tiefling Bloodhunter. He couldn’t think of a name or backstory, so he said the character had amnesia. I ended up making a name and backstory for him. He didn’t want what I put together, so he finally made something by session 4.
However, he said his mission was to get revenge for his family??? After he said he had amnesia that caused him to forget his own name...
This would be my first ever character. A gnom wizard. He was born as a crownprince and he fell in love with his teachers servant and even begun a relationship with her. As his father, the king, found out he hanged the woman who had just became pregnant, because he did not wish for a filthy child born from a peasent to filthy his bloodline. Furthermore he sank the body in a lake so they could not be burried properly. This had my character, Mabon, escape. His goal is to gather enough power and manpower to upsurp his father and take tje throne himself. My plan was to have him eventually learn teleport, and use that to get into the throneroom anf blast him into oblivion once strong enough. I played Mabon in a string of oneshots hosted by the local gamestore. The dm at the time was a friend of mine and always implemted some of my backstory with the oneshots. In one of them the kings guards had caught up to him, in a other one a portrait of someone simular to Mabons dad was in a house, so Manon turned it around with a pissed look.still have his charactercheet and the character models:) i dessigned all his outfits(winter/summer, formal/informal etc) and his spellbook, wich I love!

My friends character in our Curse of Straud campaign is a 14 year old kid that is on a mission to create the best tasting coco and then bring it to Straud. They are a cleric that uses said coco to cast spells. Need healing? Boom coco, sacred flame? Coco. They spent 2 hours last session trying sell coco and convincing us to drink some. Our poor wizard tried to summon his owl for 30 minutes before the session ended. Our coco demon has been ordered to take a chill pill.
Cringiest thing I’ve ever seen,
So we’re just starting a new campaign and introducing a new character, the DMs brother, a few sessions in. We find him wounded in a dungeon and try to help. In a deep gravely voice he first explains how he doesn’t need help and threatens us if we try to take his reward. Then he’s asked to describe himself. Says something like ‘I’m a seven foot tall all white lionen with a long flowing mane, rippling muscles and a smooth voice’ but way more sexualized. I can’t remember exactly what and even if I could I refuse to say it. Basically dude described himself like the love interest of furry smut. Also went on to try and attack his teammates for ‘getting in his way’ only to learn you need to make an attack roll to throw somebody, you can’t just declare it. He left like two sessions later and we all agreed never to play a cat person again.
My friend runs a campaign that plays out as a series of one-shots in a world he calls "the door men" this world is basically just earth except that there are (secret) means to open doorways to other dimensions, most of these dimensions are not especially friendly, it has been a lot of fun and I have gotten some great characters out of it the most recent being Sam Baranowski a 17 y/o metalhead kid from the midwest in 1997 he dressed in black, has a goth GF who is terrible for him goes by "Sam Hain" completely Ignorant that the word is pronounced sowen and I built him up to be a generally good kid in a serious edge lord phase he loves his folks who love him back although his dad, a Midwest working man is a little disappointed in him. I had all sorts of fake edgy stuff he was going to do but the shit hit the fan hard before I got to use most of it. well he and a bunch of other players and NPCs (a whole town actually but we didn't see anything beyond the diner) were accidently blinked into a space between realities and had to face the predations of the denizens thereof. well after losing a lot of folks, seeing some dark shit and fleeing down an old bomb shelter that we discovered connected to an underground complex(the source of the "whoopsie daisy" that caused all this) the crew encountered a lone man who after some accidental discoveries we discovered was absolutely not human, it was a being that had escaped from the complex in the confusion and was using the situation to make its way out of our reality, the being offered to grant us each a wish within its power if we agreed to serve it in the prosecution of its "very good and very important work" well we went around the table each either taking the deal or rejecting it, well Sam was very worried about his parents but we all knew this being wasn't exactly good so he looked to the Sherriff for guidance. well my buddy playing the sheriff deferred, and after being placed on the spot Sam took the deal if the being promised to save his parents. now I was playing him as a generally good kid, a little lost at this point in his life and seeking a direction, had these events not transpired he likely would have gone to a college and eventually become a moderately successful if unremarkable member of society. however having made this choice Sam will likely return as a metal album cover come to life complete with duster, skull motif armor, and glowing scythe.

My current group has this fallen aasimar blood hunter who insists on doing this little ritual with light with every enemy we kill. He also refuses to join us in anything that isn’t edgy rp or combat. Its hellish listening to him slog through rp repeating the same edgy things.

My most cringe character is more of a concept based off of fanart of a My Little Pony character.
A bard with a focus on spellcasting.
Also, unlike the character from the fanart, the concept involves a mixed irish/scottish accent.
Edit: Actually just remembered another character of mine based off of one from the MMORPG Neverwinter... Riki Celik. A Tiefling Wizard. Raised by a bard. And had that libido rub off on her, much to said caretakers dismay. Luckily her wizard training took a cue from monks by way of meditation to control that libido.
A darn shame she still flirts until she's vocally told no.

Edit: The King in Yellow wouldn't be a "claim mortal souls" kind of entity. Their goals and desires are unknown, and at best, they would simply desire to plunge all mortal minds into madness, and that's about it.

Cringiest was when we voted 4 to 1 to play Shadowrun. The guy who got outvoted made a troll physad spear fighter specifically designed to be absolutely unbeatable in melee by abusing reach rules, troll stat bonuses, physad powers, and a couple equipment items. If you were within thirty feet of this PC you died in one strike, no questions, no exceptions. You could be another troll physad with insane stats, wearing heavy security armor, protected by a force field that would give Gandalf a nosebleed, and it just didn't matter. Don't get me wrong, trolls are supposed to be good at melee, but our table isn't normally about min-maxing. It was clearly a #@$*-you-all-for-outvoting-me gesture.
Got one i made leaning to the edgy side of things, some folks i knew looking for a 5e player to round out their party, but we're limited to what the dm has available on the site which is basically PHB lite, I decide to have as much fun with it as i can with such a limitation and created Grim. To the party he's a tall orc fighter in battle scarred heavy chain armor, weilding a maul and greatsword, face hidden beneath a heavy black iron helm. In reality, he's a Blue scaled dragonborn originally the epitome of the classic adventurer. Wandering with a band of brothers in arms to claim bounty and seek thrills where they may. But negligent actions on his side, along with their thought to be quest giver actually being a demon cultist in disguise, led to the death of his party and the town he thought he was helping. He wears the armor (and cloth wraps where the armor doesnt cover) to cover his blue scales, normally associated with chromatic dragons, and hide from the shame of his past life. He's also an avid drinker and smoker, trying to drown not only his sorrows, but the whispers of the dragon queen that have plagued him since the vile day he fell from his once good graces.
As an added touch, he has a black wood pipe trinket that puffs skull shaped smoke clouds.
So in my defense, I did communicate with the other players that this character was intended as an obnoxcious coward and that I absolutely wouldn't mind OOC if they picked on him. Maxwell Prior was a halfling artificer that I made after my previors char had gone out in a blaze of glory. The first thing he did was smoke up the table the other players where sitting at with his large cigar, dropping ash on the table as he did. The second thing he did was insult my former character (which made the rogue steal all of his prized tools and throw them down a well). And it would go on and on like that. Probably my favorite one was "I make a cup of coffee" followed by me IRL slurping at a cup of whatever I had at the moment. Maxwell did get better towards the end of the campaign and he did learn to understand that his actions have impact on others. But not before running face first into a couple of fists, only some of which where attached to player characters.

Is it bad that I don't find most of the described characters that edgy? Except for Dark Saber, maybe, but he's a parody it seems. The rest, well, if played properly could be quite fun. Fairly certain I've seen worse, and I don't even play DnD!
