We need Daredevil on the big screen with his stand-alone movie. None of the recent new cast of marvel characters have that 'it' factor that RDJ and Chris Evans had.

I get the whole "not season 4, this is season 1" thing but it would be nice if this was indeed a continuation. It could be done in a subtle way without being too obvious but just enough for us to keep seasons 1-3 canon.
If its a full on reboot, it would be a huge shame to leave Foggy and Karen in the dust... That and I was reeeally hoping the 18 episode return would touch on the other Defenders. I would really love Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Coleen Wing to join the full MCU as well.
Variants of Foggy and Karen might be around somewhere and Foggy is probably also a lawyer.
We might get them all. I mean its 18 episodes. Hopefully with ALL the same cast. Fingers crossed 😁
@@johans3164 That's what I'm hoping for!! I kinda figured if it was such a long season that we'd get to really dig into Matt's side of the MCU.
I hope they leave Foggy and Karen out. You can call them good characters, but when you have episodes, which are split 50 / 50 between Foggy & Karen drinking in a bar and Daredevil doing his Daredevil things... You're left with half an episode, where you are waiting for the boring part to be over and see Daredevil again.
The best they can do for DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN is to focus on Matt / Daredevil and his villain and ease up on the side characters of the show.
The Defenders was terrible and does anyone really like Karen?

I love the fact that Charlie Cox is coming back as Daredevil and get a 10 eps series on D+, but we also need DD to be in a movie and not only on the small screen. I want to see him in both Avengers movies as well.
This is a Rebirth of the Daredevil character in the MCU.

He's already a fan-favorite (he got the loudest cheers during this event) and he hasn't even starred formally in Marvel Studios' productions save for the NWH cameo. He's going to be even more massive going forward. He deserves it.

Y'all, he's just trying his best to make an educated guess. They haven't told him anything they haven't told us. My instinct based on the title is that it's probably like The Matrix: Resurrections, where it's not continuing the story, but catching up with the character years later to tell a new story that uses the previous story as backstory. But I don't know anything.
When Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Punisher got cancelled back in 2018, Marvel put out a message saying that though their shows are cancelled, the characters will continue on. So I'd say you hit the nail on the head without realizing it.
Edit: Jeph Loeb also stated back in 2019 that the shows were cancelled for a particular reason, and that he was not at liberty to say why.

@@karllynch1243 He said in another interview that he asked the writers what they could tell him and they said "nothing". It doesn't seem as though the conversation about canonicity has taken place, probably because those decisions have not yet been made, and are to some extent in the hands of the writers, who haven't written it yet. If they choose to acknowledge the old show, Kevin probably won't stop them. If they choose to contradict it, who knows what'll happen? If a decision hasn't yet been made, why would they tell the actor things that have yet to be decided? It'll probably be decided based on what they feel serves the show. If it serves the show to contradict the old show, it might do that. If it does not, then it might not. If the writers are interested in building on the established history, they will. If they are not, then they might not, unless Kevin has already made the decision for them that it's canon.
I see no reason to assume that Charlie Cox knows more than he says he does. He said it feels nice to not have any secrets for once, and that sounded like a sincere statement to me. And if he did have secrets, why would he leak them by stating them as speculations and risking getting in trouble? The very fact that he can even speculate openly about it suggests that he hasn't been ordered not to talk about it, which means they haven't told him.
exactly! it's like how when revealing the thunderbolts cast, kevin feige was like "right now there is no avenger's organization in the mcu" and clickbait youtubers started going "BREAKING NEWS! THE AVENGERS ALL DIE"
I hope this is similar to the way they brought Top Boy back. That was a low budget show and Netflix revamped it with a “Season 1” with a much higher budget but still picked up years later from when the original show left off

Charlie Cox says he doesn’t know, but is dancing around the question of canonicity. Im sure he does know something, but he’s not allowed to talk about it yet. The way I see is that the old show is canon according to what Vincent D Onofrio said in regards to the Hawkeye crew connecting as many dots as possible which pretty evident in the deleted scenes with Kingpin, but it’ll just be lightly referenced.
It's unfair to ask questions like that when he didn't get a script yet. All he could do is speculate and he knows that some idiot will take it as an official announcement and spread it as news.

No, it’s more like a sequel series. Kinda in vain to how animes work ex: Dragonball > Dragonball Z > Dragonball super. Each have different characters, stories and villains but is still canon with the main characters just in their own series but it’s all together and this is how I see DD.
