If you want to save money, try the predecessor - the Blaser R93 - witch i also like as the R8. Many special forces also use the R93 as sniper weapon, because of there accurancy and handling.
I love mine, I got mine (special order) with 3 barrels & 3 Kahles scopes. .243 .308. 6.5 The accuracy is top shelf, and the scope locking lugs do hold the scope to perfection. it was a little pricey, but well worth the $16,000 I payed for the R8. I can go anywhere in North America and hunt any game species I'm up for. From Alaska, Florida to Panama. It's a true hunting rifle not a long range varmint gun. One platform that does it for me.
Love it! I bought a Savannah R8 Prof in .243 and now I'm getting a Black Edition R8 Prof in 375 and 30-06. I always wanted a Green R8 but the Savannah still looks tidy. If anything I don't mind the trade off of not having my ideal stock, the schnabel fore-end and wonderful action make me not even care as it's just a pleasure to own and use. I can't say that I marvel at any other turn bolt in both beauty of either aesthetics/design and function. I tend to see turn bolts as either beautiful or functional but never both. Truly wonderful rifles. That being said I'm a huge Kimber and Mauser fanboy but sadly the M03 is being cut back for crap like the M18 and M12. Don't get me wrong the M12 is nice but it's not as nice as an m03/m98 they're in a different league when you look at the designs with a nice grade 5+ stock with potential engravings.
Everyone. You can carry 2 different types of ammo at the same time. 2 scopes and 2 different ammo types. Or take off the scope and carry very heavy for caliber ammo for bears when traversing brush. Then when you get to your hunt area and things open up, add the scope and switch ammo to something better suited for longer ranges and lighter game much like what happens in Alaska and Afrika.
I also believe that taking off the bolt operating handle and connecting the bolt operation to the twin action bars via internal gear linkage and carrying the bars forward to the forearm and free floating the forearm on a tube chassis would make the world's fastest, smoothest, and most accurate pump action switch barrel rifle. Your hand would never leave the pistol grip and your trigger finger would never have to leave the trigger housing. Sights would stay on target.
You know why Remington is not at it's top when out of the box? The bolt has to realign itself every time the pin is released. That will effect the accuracy a lot of you decide to keep it that way. Once you change that stock. the bedding will improve accuracy enormously. I bet if you kept the factory, got a Manners stock, good optics, good load, nice eye level and a better trigger, you will not notice the difference in accuracy even with a quality barrel. Heavy barrels are just to push back.
Seen groupings of .5-.8 from blaser R8 and same (Little larger from certain people) with the Model 12 BVSS. The blaser R8 is the Beats by dr dre of rifles, quality. But for the price? You can get the same 5 times cheaper.
Better quality than the hyped up DTA SRS (bullpups are a great theory only) - for the interchangerble calibre aspect, Blasers are the best no nonsense excellent interchangeable calibre rifle. ***** 223 then 308 for me.... Cheers Germans
The Mauser isn't a Copy of the Blaser. Mauser doesn't exist any more in Oberndorf am Neckar. It's been sold to Rheinmetall and Blaser. Look up the Adress, they're equal for Mauser and Blaser ;)
"Don't bring optics to this" even though it's a key thing for Accuracy...... Bad turret tracking and you get an inaccurate gun. Buy the highest quality gun on the market, put a barska on it. And it will be that of a red ryder BB gun in terms of accuracy. Did that with my rifle...... Was making 3- at 100. Slapped on a better and get around 1.3 Moa It is part of the barrel, but you don't need a quality one to have a quality crown, that's what I was saying.
is it so hard for youtube to increase character limit? No, optics did not increase base accuracy. But it will help you achieve it's maximum base accuracy, it can be. BVSS is a budget bench rifle. Meant for pure accuracy. That's what bench rifles are for (There are more than one kind of BVSS out there) Not all the same. Some are good, some are better. It's like how there is more than one remington 700 SPS. And how would savage be better than Coopers? Coopers are 1/5 MOA out of the box. cont
You cant compare a mass produced ,budget rifle to a European quality rifle. Does Tiger Woods buy his golf clubs from Walmart ? Their is a difference between Savage & Blaser other than just the price
Reading his comments I have not seen one say "What's your favorite rifle" Just used a straw man argument so you can say he did. And the Mosin, kar98k, mas 49, mas 36, P-17 m1903. All of those don't really differ, they're all smooth. It's only important if you're on front lines, and even then they can deliver speed and accuracy. I do at the range, and there is still casmo in my mosin. You're the one hear cussing like an angered COD 10 year because he is wrong.
Guess you think it's the best because it uses a lee enfield action right XD Out of all the models only the NO 4 was accurate, out of all Finnish mosins, everyone one of those models where even more accurate than some rifles today and used same action as competition rifles m28/76 in the 60's Which from what I heard (Hard to come buy) can achieve around .3 MOA (Obviously good loads (Preferably D-166) and good shooter) Only around 1,500 dollars. There is a difference between fact an opinion.
All of them offer resistance, I have shot those as well. Don't think you're the one one. If it offers no resistance, that means your firing pin spring is weak and worn and will possibly miss fire. I don't have any troubles with shoulder firing a mosin, a tiny jolt. But a 10/10 200 yards and standard speed is good enough. Why do you think the military quit using fully automatic that's not mounted? Because it's inaccurate and a flimsy system. Jamming and fowling. cont
The only reason Blaser R8 would be better as well is it more prone to having more Custom rifles and more availability (Customs are WAYYYYY Too much, looking at some 375 H&H Blaser R8 for not 10,000 not 20,000 but for a great deal of $30,000 dollars. Just by a Brevex if you care that much.
Very nice but to expensive for me, i prefer owning more good quality riffles that only one exceptional other. Up to 4 digits is alright for me. 5? I'm out! Anyway, i love Browning and stick to it. That's my kind, i don't need so called (sub-moa guns). I just shoot sub-moa. Never say the tool is the fault, just practice your shooting. Sub-moa will come, whatever the brand is. Expect for real shitty things that we'll never use anyway... Regards from France.
Nope, seen people get .4 MOA from Savage 12 BVSS (Custom loads and quality optic that is) If that's not quality than I don't know what is. Just because it's mass manufactured does not mean anything. Slap german on anything and its automatically the most accurate thing in the world............ I bet if you give a god shooter a Weatherby Vanguard, use his favorite optics and loads (Still cheaper than a blaser) He would out shoot a Blaser R8, again, just because it's European means nothing.
I like this gun I was thinking of getting it but that magazine irritates me I think its stupid what if you lose mag there goes your trigger...stupid if you ask me
Junker, hmm smoother action. better accuracy is a junker hmmm. What would that make Blaser? Super Junker? Never have one XD All my rifles and equipment is worth more than a blaser, if I wanted I could get one. But since I'm not a idiot and think since something is German it's amazing. Especially when I can buy something better for cheaper. It's like buying a truck for 500,000 dollars because it's made in a certain country. I'm guessing you think VO rifle is worth it because price XD
The fact that you starting screaming at abe for giving an opinion. Then started cussing like a little kid when he gave an opposing opinion. And the fact you denied fact on it because it was not a Pricey German rifle. And the fact you never mentioned any other rifle, and no other rifle outside of Europe, just that one.
way overpriced, I cant imagine how much markup they add to the price. I have played with a few blaser rifles and they just don't feel like they are worth that much to me, I don't think the action is as strong as a rem 700
Out of the barrel, you can have anything from a schneider, hart, lilja. If your crown is peened, you can go from a $1,000 dollar barrel, down to a 5 dollar piece of crap. You obviously don't shoot for accuracy do you? CZ puts it because ALL parts are quality, wonder why DPMS sucks? Not because the barrel, because of BCG.
Build quality, so you rather have something less accurate, less durable, and more expensive if it's built well..... Hmmmmm... Seems you never owned a gun XD No.4 had an accuracy of around 1.50 MOA with a good shooter and never had standards. M39 HAD to be 1 MOA or Below or will never leave the factory and will be scrapped and made into a new rifle till it matches that quality. Far better built, and LEE did not use Arctic birch, so it altered in cold weather. Unlike m39.
This whole time you're ranting, whining and crying that the Blaser is god of all rifles practically. Nothing can compare unless it's a 50,000 kelby "Stop obsessing over the place of manufacturing" you're over here saying only European rifles are at the top of it's line. Incoherent nonsense. Hypocritical much. "Accuracy comes from the barrel" No, accuracy comes from the bedding, the crown, the bolt, round, and if using optics mounts, and optics. Out of the barrel, (cont)

R8 serial Topmodell "Baronesse" is ca. € 9.000 or $13,995 in the US. Ok with special extras, you can extend the price.
Everyone. You can carry 2 different types of ammo at the same time. 2 scopes and 2 different ammo types. Or take off the scope and carry very heavy for caliber ammo for bears when traversing brush. No in a box mag gun you can lose the mag but manually load one in the chamber
Thank you so much. Excellent video !
With ore without scope - wood or black or plastic shaft version - ca. € 3.500- 7.000 from the cheapest to the max.

If put on the right base that is, can't free hand .2 very well. If you can, well then that's a miracle.
Seen groupings of .5-.8 from blaser R8 and same (Little larger from certain people) with the Model 12 BVSS. The blaser R8 is the Beats by dr dre of rifles, quality. But for the price? You can get the same 5 times cheaper.
its superb and amazing how much does it cost
Better quality than the hyped up DTA SRS (bullpups are a great theory only) - for the interchangerble calibre aspect, Blasers are the best no nonsense excellent interchangeable calibre rifle. ***** 223 then 308 for me.... Cheers Germans
They wouldn't be used like a military rifle to switch out the mags, just to make it easier to load and clean.
I would think that a palm paddle would be faster and easier to operate than a ball knob.
i totally want that rifle
You got to change the barrel when you change caliber...
Keep update Pete, thank's
what kind of hearing protection was that?
including the australian special forces
The Mauser isn't a Copy of the Blaser. Mauser doesn't exist any more in Oberndorf am Neckar. It's been sold to Rheinmetall and Blaser. Look up the Adress, they're equal for Mauser and Blaser ;)
Where did you get those ear defenders?
really cool gun
I have some rifles 4 u to review if u wish buddy, latest mcmillan, experimental Barrett 50bmg, blaser dual barrel sniper ( concept only)
so every extra magazine comes with a trigger system? :p
No
still i would buy it
@TheInGenCO ...also why it's 3x more expensive than a Ruger... ;)
Have you even shot a Savage BVSS or Blaser R8? Or just watch videos and say you do.

Tikka Koski well sauer and mauser sell custom rifles at those prices too
Light weight? Blaser R8 weighs almost 9 lbs..... Add a bull barrel and it would get up to what? 11-12 lbs?
norman ee well the r8 weighs about 3,2 kilos which is not that heavy in my opion and they have balanced out the weight so it feels a lot lighter.

silentdeathtx4 well i can tell you right now that action is stronger than a rem 700
Didn’t Remington get sued for having a dangerous trigger
lol "decocker"
Ho scelto Blaser 3 , e non mi rompete le palle R8 baronesse in 7mmBlasèr magnum. + Zeiss........................................! Ciaofidersen

Hate how he pronounces Blaser sounds like he's saying Blah-ser I'm sure you say it like Bl a ser
Blaser Jagdwaffen GmbH (pronounced: Blah-zer)
Price means nothing, a savage model 12 BVSS is 5,000 times the quality, 5,000 times the accuracy, and 5,000 times cheaper.
🤣
