Pedestrians do NOT have the "right of way" on a freeway. Being a pedestrian on a freeway is a FELONY.
I'm pretty sure it's a citation offense and not even a misdemeanor.
They could be looking at additional citations, including an unlawful assembly.
Really thought it was a Misdemeanor citation offense. But really not allowing people to get by you and holding them up is false imprisonment and holding people against their will is definitely a felony.

I was in Boston Thursday night when some fools laid down their 'ceasefire' protest. What a mess. I never really was on their side, but they'll never convince me now after what they put me and my daughter through when we had a scheduled flight to catch.
Most of these individuals have no life, no job, no friends so they find likeminded people to cling too.

I think one of the characteristics between whether a person is more left or right leaning is whether they understand and take into consideration human nature when it comes to the policies that they back. Blocking traffic, interrupting people’s daily lives, including preventing them from getting to work and doing the things they need to do to care for their families is not a persuasive move that convinces me to their side. Quite the opposite.

If all the protesters met at a certain place and time, then the protest was planned. If planned the realized that they would disrupt traffic. With that in mind, this was no more a protest, but a terror act.

On crosswalks and even there they have signals telling them when they can and can't cross, otherwise it's jaywalking and they can be ticketed for it. These people sitting down in the middle of the road are not pedestrians since that only pertains to people actually crossing the road, not blocking it, and blocking public rights of way is illegal.
In the UK it's against the law to cause an obstruction on a road. We need law enforcement (police & judges) to prosecute. Or someone to take a civil action against the protestors.
The law exists, no people are allowed on major highways in America period, cops need to do their job

At the entrance of EVERY interstate there is usually a sign that says “PEDESTRIANS and non-motorized vehicles are PROHIBITED”.
“PROHIBITED” means AGAINST the law!
So EVERY pedestrian ON the freeway should be ARRESTED for BREAKING the LAW - that SIMPLE!

Protesting to get a cease fire in Gaza for Hamas when Hamas broke the last two cease fires seems a little ignorant or very indoctrinated.
Jay walking is illegal and it should be taken seriously. Being stopped on a free flowing highway automatically causes people stress and in some cases fear for their lives.
Even hitchhiking on limited access roads is illegal where I'm at - and that's a single person. I doubt even Hillbillies would move to Beverly now.

They are exploiting a loop hole in the law if they would make a law allowing people to move forward at 15 mph without consequence against the driver then the protesters wouldn't have a leg to stand on and would be too afraid to sit in the road because a 15 miles an hour coming towards you you have plenty of time to get out of the way if you don't that's your own fault.

I live in a red city in a red state. I wonder what would happen if they tried that in Columbia or Charleston S.C.? I think they would be ran over before they could even sit down. We have a lot of trucks, 4 wheel drives, and people who seem to like to run over anything in the way. There would probably be nothing but shoes and signs on the roadway. Maybe some smart phones from people trying to video the "protest."
