A couple more for your list Coach Julia. First one might be free, I sent an email to Riedell Skates and ask for stickers. So cool I received a big assortment. I had Riedell send to the rink Oakland Ice Center. The fun part a young girl getting her first figure skates sharpened, I ask her do you want one she said yes and picked one out, made my day. Next is a hard rubber sharpening tool looks like a erasure , by Howies Hockey. I use the side edge of it to keep the hollow and inside and outside edges sharp. Works good my skates first sharpen in July and now into November still good. Note on this I was surprised that the Riedell flare 910 came with stainless steel blades grade 4044C. So the sharpening tool works great with stainless Steel not sure about high carbon steel. Have a good Thanksgiving Coach Julia. Cheers
Whoa you need to slow down with the videos. I’m having trouble keeping up! A gift I would suggest (read: gift that I wanna get) is colored boot laces. Like the edea fluos. I had the yellow ones for a while when my original laces got too worn, and they really added personality to the boots. Too bad they came loose on the ice, got stuck under the blades and got cut off. I’m back to the stock black laces for now, but looking forward to getting the colored ones again!
Now, spinners… I ordered my 4th spinner; the edea e-spinner. The one with a rubberband to mimic the toepicks. It should be arriving soon. I first got the original edea spinner (the one you say is dangerous) and the aussie brand which I don’t quite remember the name. My issue with these is that the rocker positions are different from real boots. So none of the progress made on the spinner translated to progress on the ice. 3rd spinner was the Jerry’s. Totally different from the others, so it took some getting used to and I’m still getting used to it. But this time, no rocker. So again, doesn’t translate to the ice. The edea e-spinner seems to mimic the rocker position the best, so really looking forward to practicing on it cuz I’m really getting sick of sucking on spins. As for jumps, my other coach said I could be moving on to flips if I land my loops regularly tomorrow. Fingers crossed 🤞 because I really wanna get to lutzes so that my “oh flutz” shirt gets more meaning.
Back from my weekly lesson. Coach put together a little footwork sequence which I nailed on my second go. (RF Rocker turn - LF Bracket turn - LF pivot- LF lunge) Then spin time…coach threw me a curve ball and said we’re gonna try a new spin every few weeks and see if I could magically get one working. Once that happens, I sign up for a competition. For now, sit spins. Which of course didn’t go well. Then jump time. Coach wanted 3 clean jumps each. Didn’t break a sweat on waltz and salchows, but started crashing toe loops. Still managed to get the 3. Then loops with about 10 minutes left. I was really desperate to get the 3 loops, but of course desperation didn’t help. Loops were out of control and all over the place. Managed to get the first clean one with about 3 minutes left and coach gave me a pass and finally time for flips… Coach explains the flip jump, I give it a go. And she says…”you’re on your LO edge. That’s a lutz” 😜
@@lilianmatheson3664 I got the e-spinner delivered today. It's a lot more like real skates. It has edges (original edea doesn't have edges) and the rocker position is far more real. Spins I could do on the original, I can't do on the e-spinner because my muscle memory has been wrong the whole time...😥
@@yjchoi17 that is good to know. Now you can learn the correct position though, don't give up. I ordered mine. You gave me hope. I think I am on the same boat. I used to do my scratch spin. I have been doing it in my round Spinner and cannot on the ice. But hopefully we can practice it off ice and get it right on the ice. I am excited now. Good luck to us. We dhoukd get each other's Instagram so we can check on each other's progress. I will look for yours. Is it this same names you have here?

I liked your comment on the spinners. I am getting stuck on my scratch spins and my spinners doesn't help as much. Let us know how the new edea works.
