  • Welcome to today's vlog! Join us as we take you back to the water park after taking turns eating at the Chinola Restaurant. The water is a bit chilly, but that doesn't stop us from having a great time. We decided to test out the big circular water slide and let me tell you, it was a blast! Unfortunately, our daughter couldn't join us, but Alan and I were excited to try it. There was a little miscommunication because I didn't hear Alan mention that it requires an inner tube. So, I had to go back and get the tube. After all the fun, we treated ourselves to some delicious ice cream before heading off to the hot tub. The ice cream selection at the coffee bar stays open until 11 pm, making it the perfect treat anytime.
Back in our hotel room, we had a fascinating discussion when we learned about the various restaurant dress codes. We then decided to have Italian for dinner at Noodle and Thread. We were a little early, so we wandered around the hotel premises to see what else was available. We discovered The Tempest, an Asian restaurant, and The Blind Butcher, an extra sensory dining experience hidden behind a secret door. The club lounge bar impressed us with its expertly crafted cocktails, and we can't wait to spend more time there. Finally, we got in line for the Italian restaurant and had a wonderful dining experience. The risotto was fantastic.
To end the day, we went upstairs to the coffee bar, where we indulged in some ice cream for ourselves and grabbed milk for Avery. Overall, our first full day at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic was great, despite the chilly water. We can't wait to share more adventures with you in our upcoming vlogs! Stay tuned!

Amazing videos! We are booked in a master suite on the Zilara side. Can’t wait! We are used to Ziva Cancun which is also amazing.

Thanks for bringing up the dress code. Do they allow open-toed shoes? Not sure if you happened to notice. Also, granted you were there in December (and an overcast day), but do you feel the water temperature was unusually cold? I’ve seen some comments about the water temperature at this resort so this stands out. Appreciate the coverage on this resort.

Not sure we noticed if any guys were wearing open-toed shoes. In any case, they didn't seem to be strict about the dress code either. I wouldn't say the water was unusually cold. The older kids didn't seem to mind it and were splashing around all day. We went to the Hyatt Ziva Cabo in March, and the water was cold there as well - probably colder than Cap Cana.
