The Band has been around for a while now, but I guess because it is a German band it is not so well known outside of Germany. I have seen them 5 times live now and Jennifer´s voice is really solid even live.

BtB have a big Fanbase across hole europe and also in Japan.
Also they are playing since 2017 every year on the Wakken Festival
Never heard of this band, but that is why I like reaction channels! Always fun listening to new stuff I wouldn't normally look up. Digging that vocalist too, really liking her style. Not to take anything from the rest of the band of course, they all were great just took a little more notice on the vocals...

I saw Beyond the Black live for the first time in 2016 as the opening act for the Scorpions 50th anniversary tour and I was hooked. Jennifer's singing is unique. I also love their activities outside of Beyond the Black. She took part in the TV show "Sing meinen Song" (German version of Beste Zangers) and was only known to metal fans in Germany. Her duet "Salve Regina", a prayer, with Michael Patrick Kelly is also epic. Beyond the Black is great live, i saw them i 2018 when they performed as a support before Within Temptation and both bands were absolutely amazing.

This is also a new band for me and by the name I was thinking they were going to be more death metal. Like what I heard very much, and I agree that Dancing in the Dark was the better song to me as well. I'm going to have to introduce my friends to this group as well. Nice work Cheezyxyz.

Stumbled into this band a while back. they have a strange background. I watched a Wacken 2016 performance. Bassplayer broke a string on the first song. Almost wandered away, but then Jennifer did a belt and I heard the power. Did some research, not sure what happened but she is a relative of a Wacken producer. Band fired her but she in turn fired them, she won. it's all been great since. Love this band, love her voice. Love this album.
This is not quite correct. BtB was cast together by the founders of Wacken. It was supposed to be just a "project". However, after the success of the first two albums, a label offered a contract for two more albums and European tour.
But the guys didn't want to go along with that. They had family and other projects going on (e.g. UA-cam channel UMC "Ultimate Metal Cover").
Therefore the breakup followed and the band was rebuilt. Since then, however, two members were "dismissed" again. Keyboard and bass.
@@MisterColbar Thank you, that's the first coherent explanation I've heard. Finding accurate info on the internet frequently requires more time than I wish to invest.
The arrangements in symphonic metal can mimic the movements of a classical composition. Some love it, and others stay away from the genre because it's simply not their taste. I suppose the same can be said of any music, or any art form for that matter. The patron ingests that which moves them.
Beyond the Black is the creation of Jennifer Haben (lead vocals) who started out essentially as a solo artist, then enlisted a band to play live shows with her. After a couple of years, that initial group dispersed and the current 4 piece lineup was formed (including Jennifer). While I've appreciated classical music for many decades, symphonic metal bands that get too operatic don't hold my interest as this did. A couple of exceptions to that, but we are here for Beyond the Black today.
