When I went to see this in theatres, the audience was so alive. You could hear scattered laughter up and down the aisles; it was a community experience. So, besides everything else about this film, I love that it brought so many people together. I love how character driven it is. I love how fast paced it is, and the cast, and I cannot _wait_ to see what they do with it in the future.

I watched it 2 times, found a few plot holes. It's the editor job to make the plot convince to the audience. Movies are not shot in sequence, so the editor needs to pay attention. I'm willing to get it pass because it's Brad Pitt, he's not responsible for the plot

@@user-killachickendinna at the beginning, Andrew/Kimora somehow worked for White Death and left? At the end, the Elder said he spends lifetime looking for White Death.
With the high tech bullet train, everything is sensored electronically. But when ladybug 🐞 & tangerine 🍊 were flew outside the train, it continued as usual after they returned to the train. Logically, alarms would have been sounded etc. It's hard for the editors to cut this out , am sure they spend lots of money and efforts to put the "Mission Impossible " style stunds. Movies are not shoot in sequence, so 🤷
Tarantino or Tom cruise don't have plots holes, they are perfectionist. Bullet Train director background was a stund man for Brad Pitt, he's editor has also been editing all of his films. So maybe it's good to have additional editors. Overall, bullet train is entertaining, so I'm willing to forgive the imperfections. The soundtracks are great 👍

@@worldcitizeng6507 I actually noticed that too about how Kimora was working for white death and delivered that suitcase, yet his father was looking for White Death and seemed to have somewhat good connections. So how did he not know his own son was working for him and how would white death not know that was the elder’s son? I’m glad you brought that up because I was questioning it too! I thought I was the only one.

@@worldcitizeng6507 the son was infiltrating the gang to get a chance to be with the white death. Now we can also assume that prince just assumed since he handed the brief case to an associate that he's just a lone wolf outside of that. But the end really explains a lot. Seeing as how the white death bought every ticket on that train it makes sense that the staff weren't on anyone's ass about tickets and how they were able to fight and shoot guns inside the train packed with people. So the alarms didn't trip and were prolly turned off to avoid the gov getting involved because the white death needed the train to go to Kyoto. I thought about it too until i got to the part where he said he did that and all of it made sense to me why no one called the cops or authorities and the firecrackers didn't call for an immediate stop.cit goes to show how powerful the white death is and how he looms over everything as the main villain l

I love this movie and I wanted to look up all the trivia about it because you never know what you missed in the background. But while looking up the movie, I did see the controversy.
Essentially, people were mad that this movie was based on a Japanese light novel but did not have a Japanese protagonist. Technically speaking they were right, in Kotaro Isaka’s novel, Ladybug is a Japanese man named Nanao and The prince is a sociopathic 13 year old Japanese boy named Satoshi Oji. Instead of The White Death, it’s just Yoshio and his son. The main antagonist of the book is The Prince who isn’t actually driven by anything other than his own sick entertainment.
I do like the changes Bullet Train made to Isaka’s story, for example, making a lot of the cast Japanese would be a bit supercilious because that would imply that the best assassins in the world are all, or at least majority Japanese which likely isn’t the case in reality. The diversity in Bullet Train actually make sense for the narrative and I hate forced diversity in anything. They also make sense of the Prince being white and female with her motivations, I do think Brad Pitt did very well as Ladybug and it works for the narrative as we mostly are watching from his perspective of all the pieces falling into place, we kind of learn everything through him as the odd man out and a westerner in Japan. They did also keep a lot of key Asian and Japanese cast like Kimura and his family, the Yakuza, and the train staff are all Japanese.
I think a lot of these activists forget how diverse Japan actually is. In the big cities like Tokyo, seeing white Americans or Englishmen and an occasional black person, mostly tourists (who could possibly be assassins for all we know). It’s actually very accurate to bullet trains to have a lot of diversity for tourists reasons. The same for an Asian being in London or New York. It makes sense because there’s a lot more diversity there via being a tourist destination compared to Sheffield or Concord. Even Kotaro Isaka praised the film and he made the book its based on. Native Japanese are also very happy with the movie, only Japanese Americans seem to be fussing over the lack of Asian representation.
