Hope you never have a leak.
Can just cut out the piece and fix
Alot of spray foam hate in the comments
Very good installer. Looks great for .5 lb
Was gonna say the same
Too much of a hassle to remove if needed
Foam is good for air seal …I wouldn’t use for primary source of insulation..definitely needs some form of baffles.
Can this be sprayed on a radiant barrier roof?
Over time it often causes the timber trusses to rot… which is why U.K. surveyors and lenders are not happy with it.
Evidence of that?
Lol.....
I promise you it had nothing to do with the foam.....it has to do with the builder
@@jeremyfields9801 are going around dismissing people's arguments without giving your own reason? I think what he said makes complete sense.
Your opinion.....
You need to use plastic spacers between the foam and the ceiling, otherwise you won't get air flow and will get rot in your roof.
If you have te faom on the felt and tiles is it ok to have normal roof lagging. Does there need to be vest
You are wrong , opinions fall short in this industry , science shows different in your opinion
You don’t know what you’re talking about np tho
@@jeremyfields9801really? How do you find a leak when your roof is spray foamed from the back side… I’ll wait… and when you do find the leak it’s 75 feet from where it breached
This is incorrect. Your roof should not have water under it. If it does then spray foam is the least of your problem.
Yeh don’t get this done…ur morgage lender will never let u remortgage again…basically makes your house void and costs more to remove
Looks Like Cotton Candy🤤
Is it safe?
Nook cranny😂 nooks cranny
I want to do that, about what is the cost? Can i leave in my blown in insulation? And should the attic still breath (ridge vents, turbines, etc.)?
If you already have a venting roof I’d remove the blown stuff and only spray the attic floor
@@rdskdread5 I have a ridge vent. So you'd spray the top of the sheetrock?
@@bobbydelamar606 yes, I’m your scenario I’d only spray ceiling joists
@rdskdread5 Thank you. The joists and sheetrock?
I work for moxie pest control and we do spray foam
What area? The moxie pest control in virginia only does tap insulation
Great until you have a small fire. Then it all turns into napalm
😂
No thanks. All it takes is the chemicals not to mox properly in one spot and everyone dies or for a slight area not to be filled properly and your roof rots and falls down.
What happens when you get a slight leak?........ oh ya you don't find out about it till the whole roof falls in
Wrong. Open cell foam will collapse if there's a water issue
@@RJWaynerium after it is saturated enough which could be to late..
Imagine the huge musty stinky water balloon 😮 🤮 yuck😊
wont pass inspection - cant see wood
What happens when you have a roof leak?
Spray foam fights against roof leaks actually
I’m going with rockwool
Is that good never 🤔
What i absolutely hate is this is another "the right way to set a post" topic. Everyone has to weigh in on what's wrong and how it'll ruin your house and British people talk about how banks won't loan on them.
As of Dec 2023 it costs £12,000 to install and because lenders won't give mortages it takes £17,000 to take out...............don't ever use this crap
My new house has spray foam like this and I got up there to look around. The temp was almost the same as my living area. Is that normal with foam insulation?
How are things going now? I shouldn't get this in my attic?
My home has the same. I have yet to venture up there but I’d think that’s a great thing because heat causes stress on components that can become weakened or brittle over time. And if it’s the same as the living area, then it is blocking out the heat. Or vice versa, if it’s freezing outside, it’s properly retaining the temperature inside
@@joschmo7983 Yeah, it's def not bad up there. I kinda wanna build some racks for storage up there now 😅
no its not a bad thing at all, it means its doing its job
@@fencerider1492 it works

I'd rather have 4" of foam over ply on roof deck...and rokwol in the attic.
Someone watches a little too much Matt Risinger 😂
@@Ty-bp2yd if I can afford it if I can afford it it's definitely what I'm going to do when I build my house... I used to think spray foam was the best out there... I see it on many job sites and it's good but it's definitely not perfect.. and lately I saw the issue where it pulls away from itself as it cures and creates these giant air pockets against the plywood .
Not suited for humid climate
dont understand how you deal with venting, there is none
That’s the whole point of closed cell spray foam, it’s meant to seal the sheathing and eliminate the need for venting.
what song is this
Snap Ya Fingers - Lil JON
@@kingkoopa654 LMAOOO love that song
No
Huge fire hazard 🔥 This stuff burns like crazy, use fiberglass instead, glass doesn't burn!
If there’s fire in this location, seems like there are bigger problems on your hands?
Actually for code sake im sure its fire proof
Fire hazard? Lol, no. This attic is clearly being prepped for finishing (as evidenced by the lights and the knee walls.) The drywall that will be installed over this spray foam will prevent it from being a fire hazard.
And your evidence?.... better do your investigation prior to giving opinions
He is not wrong there are many videos out there showing how much more fire danger this is compared to other products
When your'e INSIDE a STYROFOAM COOLER, its automatic, COLD OUTSIDE, WARM INSIDE, WARM INSIDE, COLD OUTSIDE.
Would never use it. Use Rockwool and calk.
The roofers will hate u. Do not do this. If plywood ever needs removed…. It’s horrible…… - a roofer 10x expensive
Its even funner when there is a roof leak 😂
For alot of reasons (most of them mentioned in the comments) this is s reallllllyyyyyyyyyyyy bad idea to do and alot of people are having a hard time selling their home because you have no way of inspecting one of the most costly and most significant parts of your home.
This increases your home structurally integrity up to 60% so dont understand what your on about
If a roof leak happens, this foam is water tight. So in all the little nooks and crevices between the roof osb or plywood, the rood rafters, and the foam water can get trapped. Then with the water trapped against all that wood, the wood will start to decay and rot. Since you can't see any of this until it's too late you will have a much larger repair job.
@@ssaw88so basically instead of foam use traditional insulation rolls? Thinking of doing my under roof, not a fan of the spray foam.
@@ssaw88 its vented….
Reguadless if your roof is ventless or vented I recommend Rockwool, Roxul, Stone Fiber insulation if you can get it. It's waterproof unlike fiberglass, has less sag, and is very easy to place, plus it is easy to handle and cuts with a bread knife. If your roof is not vented and you have 2x8 or larger. You can stack a 2x4 batt with a 2x6 batt and it works just like a 2x8 batt or you can go deeper too
No because as soon as you try to sell your house, people are gonna see the spray foam and ask... What damage are you hiding under that spray foam?
Ill tell ya. I dont see that happening
@@ryangluszewski3319 I heard about it from a British person who used spray foam and tried to mortgage his house.
100% true in u.k this product means cant get mortgage
This seems like a uniquely UK issue. In the US, this is an acceptable way to insulate a cathedral ceiling.
Goodluck getting the house remortgaged
It's the only product on the market. Where the manufacturer puts two large warning labels on how it causes cancer
I'd say go ahead and install it with no one to sue.
Can't get a mortgage on a house with that in it
That's not true, where are you? Hawaii?
UK lenders WON'T grant mortgages if the house has spray foam insulation, fact!@@donnimetropolis9899
@@donnimetropolis9899Sounds like a UK issue. Probably because of their different roofing techniques.
It’s “great stuff”
Major gas off from these foam insulations. See the report by 20/20. Many people can’t move in cause of the toxic gas.
Closed cell is done off gassing in less than 24 hours. Open cell takes maybe a week.
Completely false
Do you believe everything you see on TV.....lol.....the foam wasn't installed right by a 2nd rate installer
@@jeremyfields9801 it was a major news channel. Do you understand what liable is? It wasn’t some UA-cam channel or a blog. Lol
I know what it was.....and I also know what went on
Can't sell your house in the UK with this stuff.
