I know these are from two different movies but in hsmtmts I’ve been trying to ship them after the season finale but there’s just something off about them lol
The off thing was them being rushed. They definitely were meant to be, but not when it was written. Ricky needed more time to stand on his own with goals outside of being with a girl. Gina needed time for her relationship with EJ to breath and then more naturally fall apart, not over the course of two weeks.

@@trinitygrau4978 makes sense but to be fair they broke up at camp prom, an episode before the season finale. when they confessed feelings, it was at the very end when they were at the premiere, which was I think a month later. so they both had some time to think about it
@@allie_builds Yeah, but keep in mind the total of camp is supposed to be two weeks. Two weeks for Gina and EJ's relationship (which we never really saw) to fall apart? It really was just way too fast and felt like the writer's didn't know how to build tension and keep the drama going in an organic way. They just wanted to skip to the payoff. I don't think a month would have been enough honestly. Especially given that we have zero idea of what happened during that month.
You guys have to think they were rushed because they didn't know until the last second they were getting a season 4. So, of course, we rushed the Rina relationship. Two, they got reduced to 8 episodes instead of 10-12 like the first two seasons.
