Took me a rewatch to notice, but at the very beginning of the episode you see the 2 envoy, then the camera cuts to a guard watching the guest house from the porch, then cuts to another guard on the balcony, then we see one of the envoy is talking to Loulan's father. So Gaushun just wanted to know how did one of the envoy snuck out while the 2 guards were watching them and the whole pregnancy story is just a distraction for Maomao and us the viewers
14:20 Luna Moth. They don't actually glow, but they reflect light quite well, so would seem to glow with a bright moon. They're also quite large. I saw one up close by chance some years back when it for some reason settled on my deck in the daytime. It was in no hurry to fly off, and when I nudged it, it walked onto my finger. I left it on the wood rack where i found it, and it was gone by the next day.
0:54 It wasn't the emperor, but Shishou, Loulan's father. About Gaoshun’s story, you can figure out for yourself why he asked Maomao and why his story sounds a bit too specific and made up. It won’t be brought up again in the next episodes, so you should draw your conclusion in this one. Check the scene after the opening: > Two envoys who look like twins like Gaoshun's story > Two guards are watching the envoys, positioned exactly like in Gaoshun’s story. > One of the envoys secretly leaves the other to meet Shishou. Now you should get why Gaoshun asked Maomao about it, he wanted to know if the envoys could actually slip past two guards and meet someone outside
Just can't help yourselves can you. Bunch of LN readers finding every reaction and making sure to post spoilers instead of letting people enjoy things unfolding and figuring out the story for themselves. It's impossible to just enjoy anime these days because everyone is dying to spoil it for their own satisfaction of knowing beforehand what will happen lol.
@@MxMoondoggie This scene won't be explained in other episodes, I won't comment if it's something like Lakan or another long term mystery, if they miss it in this episode, they will never know
You guys should really pay attention to the first cour. For this season, the first cour is basically a whole setup for the second cour unlike last season where the first and second cour had different themes. The pacing in the 2nd cour would be even faster and the story more complicated than the first season. Look at who the envoy was meeting and the significance of Gaoshun's story, they'll have ramifications even as far as the 3rd season if we ever get one.
I think it’s funny that he’s patting himself on the back, calling himself Sherlock, with the obvious, but still hasn’t figured something out from the end of last season.
Since I think you didn't get it maybe I shouldn't say it, but the episode left a few tips about who the "sisters" are & even if it doesn't tell about what is the "pregnancy" it gives a hint about it for the future.
As you can probably guess, this is a fantasy work written by a Japanese person. Of course, the setting is modeled after ancient China, but the content is completely different from the actual ancient Chinese period.

This is also the same reason why they gifted the consorts with mirrors
This is also why maomao asked if where the girls were staying was formerly a guest house (because it is)

So, what you are saying is this is fiction about a China-like empire, like the disclaimer in every episode?
