This is my thing about voodoo, hoodoo, and witchcraft. You would think it would have done a lot more damage to enemies during our time of need, like slavery and wars. I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but that is something that has crossed my mind.

Catholics dont uphold mary more than jesus . But i dont believe we have to pray to saints when we have GOD . I like praying the rosary it . The rosary is not about mary really . We say the rosary but we go through the life of jesus and how we can be like jesus . His ways . I grew up in catholic but i had my relationship with GOD as my father . @@HelloMammaMya Yes, I can understand his attachment as a sort of sentimentality and identity -- but I certainly hopes a Christian can gently and lovingly let him know that he must be rid of such fetishes, which have been connected with magic and divination which are major sins. Even if a person does not practice those things, such fetishes usually have already had a demon attached, and having one in your home or wearing one can open doors to spirits of the devil.

It's a turtle, most likely crafted by a local artisan with a similar design our ancestor did. Native heritage is not inherently evil. This specific piece has nothing to do with worshiping pagan gods, at least not based on HIS heritage. It represents a geographic location and considered a native piece of art. The path from witchcraft and sin to Jesus is not a linear path. Baby steps are fine. When you stay in communion with God, you will learn to discern at the right time. Instead of being judgemental, which is not my place, how about we congratulate this young man for taking the first steps and welcome him with love?
@@HelloMammaMya I apologize if my post appeared unloving. I tried to be very loving and gentle as a WARNING. So MANY people keep hold of things that they have NO IDEA are portals whereby evil spirits can bother them. Am I being unloving when I give a warning? I don't think so. I think people can be a littlle too quick to call Christians judgmental. If you knew me, from even before I was a Christian until today I am considered by friends to be one of the MOST non-judgmental people they know. But of course one cannot read that in a short post. I personally was deceived by the Devil in a BIG way for 30 years AFTER I fell in love with Jesus and was baptized by both water and Holy Spirit. Warnings are very important in this day and age. For instance, the turtle fetish is considered by Native American Zuni culture to PROTECT from evil spirits. How are they to know if they are not warned?

I was just thinking how I would feel it was me sharing my testimony and then read your question, because it sounded like you were questioning instead of warning. I do understand now that was not your intention. Also, as an Islander, I don't expect everyone to understand that all native Ancestry is NOT the same. Native American Zunis are from New Mexico. Very religious people with many gods had animal form, unlike our Ancestors. It's easy to make assumptions because there is no way you could know that and the reason I wanted to explain why he might still be wearing the necklace. Hard to listen to a testimony from someone who clearly doesn't have much knowledge about Voodoo, catholicism or even what people from France are called... Sounds like he skimmed through a few "history of voodoo" videos 5 minutes before the interview.... I've returned to being Catholic again now but was in the occult nearly 30 years and had friends in the Voodoo community. They are not "deities". There is only one god in the Voodoo religion. The Loa are spirits, similar to what our saints and angels are...Anyone genuinely practising that religion would never call them deities. Same as any Christian would never refer to a saint or angel as a diety. Plus it's an initiatory religion, you can't learn it from a book or youtube videos, you need to gain godparents in that community that will teach you. This testimony is either false or he spent like 2 weeks dabbling alone in his bedroom...
You need to repent and turn back to God. The Catholic Church is satanic and they pray to the dead. They even changed the second commandment so that they can worship idols in peace.
