"Just as Sauron concentrated his power in the One Ring, Morgoth dispersed his power into the very matter of Arda, thus the whole of Middle-earth was Morgoth's Ring." -- A statement in one of Tolkien's essays
In Morgoth's Ring it is also said Morgoth's evil was put into gold more than any other element, which is why it is so greedily sought after by all being and made the perfect material for Sauron's One Ring.
Technically, Melkor became Morgoth, but yes! Eru knows all of history in Arda and Ea is supposed to play out. He even told Melkor this after they were created through the music.
I always liked that metaphor as it clearly shows the difference in power between the Maiar and Valar. Because Tolkien didn't use a lot of showy fireballs and lightning bolts in his magic it's sometimes difficult to remember. But a Valar's power can fill a world, while a Maiar can only fill a ring. 😲🤯
"Melkor's envy grew then the greater within him; and he also took visible form, but because of his mood and the malice that burned in him that form was dark and terrible. And he descended upon Arda in power and majesty greater than any other of the Valar, as a mountain that wades in the sea and has its head above the clouds and is clad in ice and crowned with smoke and fire; and the light of the eyes of Melkor was like a flame that withers with heat and pierces with a deadly cold." Interesting to contrast his Godlike arrival with his end.
Melkor's ring was an entire planet, he was defeated; Sauron's ring's were an actual ring imbued with magical powers that held power over the wearer. WTF made Sauron actually think he could outlive and succeed over his Master?!
@@BenFrayle no he didnt? sauron also lost to the alliance, but many of morgoths creations still survived, they just ran and hid in the mountains. whereas sauron had to basically start from scratch all over again.

What-if video idea for you to do: What if Gandalf never fell at the Bridge of Khazad-dum and continued with the fellowship to Lothlorien and on forward?
That's so interesting that Melkor was originally less serious in his intent and I feel that some of that intent remains in the published Silmarillion. All of his actions before the return of the Noldor to me seem so "ridiculous" that at a first glance they can come across as comic i.e. the destruction of the lamps, the alliance slash falling out with Ungoliant etc.
Let's be honest: convincing men that death just might not be a wonderful gift to openly embrace was fairly simple. Much much easier than The Broken Shill holding onto their dignity/respect/reputation after their blatant attempts to pass off 'The Rings of girl Power' as anything remotely related to Tolkien inspired content that isn't completely disgraceful butchery at it's very core. After meeting the show runners we see our lore is in good hands boys, they echoed. Along with every other that took the bribe trip... Word for word. Seeing how that sentiment looks now, not even Melkor at his most clever could spin this one. Sauron could take the form of the hottest chick imaginable and wouldn't even be able to convince a group of incels/simps to respect this channel after that.
Why wasnt MORGOTH paired with anyone? All the other Valar from MANWE to TULKAS were paired up but Morgoth was not. Did ERU always know Morgoth was going to become Melkor?

You have to understand the context - everything written in the Ainulindale and the Valaquenta is heavily slanted by the elves who transcribed it to support their belief system. Melkor may well have had a partner (probably did as you point out) but when he was expelled from the Valar all record of it was suppressed. You could make an argument, come to think about it, that 'Ungoliant' may have been that Power.
I would think a Valar would have no ring, if i had to think on it his crown which held the sumarils could be it, also his power of perversion of creature like dragons and orcs. Grond his mace most likely isn't or maybe his ring was to deceive Maiar spirits into his service like Sauron or Gothmog.

I don't think any of Melkor's power went into Balrogs. Like Mairon, they were indepenent beings, which were attracted to Melkor. Not like Glaurung, who was probably brought to power strictly through Melkors influence.
the balrogs were lessar maiar, deserted aman and joined melkor. i don't know if their powers/appearences were ever specified, but it seems likely that they were genetically/magically enhanced through melkor.
You didn't watch the video did you? Morgoth's ring isn't a literal ring, it was a metaphor used by Tolkein to describe how Morgoth poured his own spirit into the fabric of Arda, in a similar manner to how Sauron poured much of his spirit into The One Ring.
Morgoth had already used up most of his mana/life force by the time sauron was still in diapers. morgoth didn't really care about being the ultimate fighter so much as just winning the war outright. even if he created a ring at that point it would be sub-par.
