I'm reading Breath by I think ..James Nester. Can't remember the authors name exactly. My non fiction one at the moment.
I'm at war with a slump so I'm keeping may open(isl).
Gearbreakers by Zoe Hana Mikuta is a Y A that looks fun.
Swarm by Jennifer D Lyle looks good.
The Romance Recipe by Ruby Barrett might be a good option too
I've been at war with a slump too, love that description! Though I'm 100% sure mine is just a life stage thing, hoping by the end of May things level out. Hopefully you can defeat your slump!
Happy Birthday! Its birthday month for our family...3 birthdays in May out of 7 kids, and then the one who came a week late would have been May, but is June. Thus 4 birthdays in 3 weeks! 😵💫

That sounds like a great way to do Mother's Day! And yes, we have the same weekend as the US, which is a little too bad because my birthday is always the next weekend, I wish they were a little more spaced out. I have not read The Ember Blade, I'll read it if you say it's good. 😉

In May, I'm reading Silas Marner by Eliot, Dandelion Wine by Bradbury, Dr Thorne by Trollope and Gone with the Wind (i only managed 2 ch last month😅...life took over). Going to try to get the Gouge book in for Kate's Kindred Spirits called The White Witch.

Happy Almost Birthday! I have had Belladonna on my long-game TBR now for a while. I’ve read All the Stars & Teeth by the same author - enjoyed it! But there were some elements that weren’t my favorite but others I loved so I’m curious how I’ll like Belladonna. It sounds so intriguing!
I'm trying to go into Belladonna with low expectations so hopefully it surprises me, hopefully that's how it works!

I've been in a major reading slump this past month. So I'm keeping May very open ended. Although I'm currently in middle of Adult Children of emotionally Immature Parents-Lindsay Gibson, The adventures of Almina Al Sir-alfi ( don't think I got that right), and Mary Boeyln a historical biography by Alison Weir (nonfiction); on a side note keeping those families straight is a bit difficult considering they love reusing family names but it is all very interesting.
Happy Birthday Month! I am loving the Patrick Bowers series so far. I have read Opening Moves, Every Crooked Path and Every Deadly Kiss so far. Loved them all. I did read The Pawn years ago out of order when I didn't know they had an order and really loved it. Can't wait to get to the chess pieces books.

I'm excited to hear your thoughts on Winter Heart. When you first mentioned it, I immediately added it to my TBR
I'll be looking forward to hearing what you think of Belladonna and The Professor. I've only read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, so I'm curious to know how The Professor compares. I'm planning to finish up book 3 in the Temeraire series and also read Dear Henry, Love Edith for the Revive Book Club. Beyond that, I'm not sure what I'll get to.
Looking at the inscription in the book, it looks like it says "From my hero during..." something something, "No adachric words." That middle word might not be right at all, but it made me think that maybe he was trying to write "adequate" but didn't know how to spell it. Obviously, I could be wrong because the writing is very hard to read.
Haha, it's quite a messy little note, it intrigues me.

In short: it's not worth it. It's unfortunate but definitely not one I would recommend.

Chromatic, book 3 in the Color Theory series comes out in May. I’m planning to read it right away, assuming it doesn’t get lost in the mail
Hopefully that was a one time thing! What did you rate book one and two in that series? I think I gave book one a 4 star and wasn't sure if I wanted to continue or not but if Carly is . . .
@@ChantelReadsAllDay I gave both books five stars but book one was better. Book two had more YA angst than the first book. I’m honestly not sure if you would like it. I have a special place in my heart for Vivid because it was my first fantasy book 😊
