I have found that the fewer clothes we have the better we keep up with laundry 🧺 you have to do it to have clean clothes lol ! I can’t stand clutter in my house I put something in my cart and walk around and ask myself if I want to dust it and so I put it back . When I started getting rid of stuff my brain felt more organized and you feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. If it doesn’t make me smile or bring me joy I get rid of it. When I go to bed I have what I call my naked kitchen nothing is on the counter except my coffee pot and I have never had a dishwasher. Great video thank you ! 🍁🌻🍁
Good luck with your laundry day! I’m sure your family will enjoy helping you get the household chores done. Especially when it will allow you to all spend more quality time together!♥️♥️. Love all of your videos! I’ll watch what you post!🥰
Hello Lori . About laundry in our house electricity was at half price during the night so the dishwasher and the washing machine started after 1 am . We practically never used them during the day since money was tight . Decluttering is something difficult for me . I packed mugs dishes and plates in cardboard boxes , put them in the garage, wrote the content with big letters. When we break a mug I don’t spend a dime , I go get one from the garage . I just can’t get rid of something that will come useful and for which we spent money . But I donated all the children’s nice old clothes, I kept a few good toys but donated 90 % . So I’m slowly emptying the house but it’s hard ...
Wake up have your coffee and wake up time, throw a load in washier, do morning chores fold and put away. The time on laundry is not that long. Probably ten minutes to fold and put away. Time it. Most time is in washier or dryer. I hang almost everything up. That helps. I lay on bed or table his shirts mine, pants etc. then I hang on hangers and hang up. I like using the bed much faster and I make the bed before I do laundry folding. Do a load a day accept Wednesday then do towels, sheets, etc. I wash dry and put sheets back on bed. I learned these when I worked 40 plus hours a week and had three boys still at home. I did not put their clothes away they did accept what hung in closet. I also tried to clean one room a week well. So, every day off was not cleaning and laundry. I am going to go back to it because my house stayed clean. Take the morning or evening which ever works for you and run the broom, pick up, wipe surfaces off including bathroom services. Do dishes as you go, wipe things up. Rinse dishes if left in sink and run the broom on the floor. Get basket and throw the things in it the kids do not put away and they have to do a chore to get the things back or have a bookshelf with baskets and just put their things in it for them to put away once a day. There is always a solution you have to find what works for you. My rules is you cook it you clean it.
Dana K. White from A Slob Comes Clean advocates doing laundry once a week. After the first full week of managing your laundry this way, any clothes that are NOT in the dirty wash on your laundry day could be assessed as to why they have not been worn. Are they not the right size, are they damaged or stained, or are they just clothes that the person does not like to wear. This would be a good time to weed them out or mend them. Love this kind of content! I'm struggling to declutter our house because it's the house I grew up in and we bought it from my dad before he passed 2 years ago this Dec. My parents both saved so much and it's hard to let it go because it feels like I have to let them go all over again. But all of the clutter is a stress on both my husband and I and I don't want my 4 yr old growing up thinking it's ok to save EVERYTHING. Also love that you are trying a new laundry system. It's important to see what works for you in the season you are currently in. I was trying to do a load a day as well, but to save money, I have been line drying as much as I can, which means I have to wash when the weather is good. So I do not wash everyday, but I am like you, I get distracted, I don't enjoy folding and putting it away, and so many times even though I washed everyday, clean laundry would sit for days in the basket. I find I hate it always being around or on my mind. So like you, I'm better at not having to do it everyday. Keep the videos coming!
Very wise advice! I’m currently working on a solution for the management of our home and it’s been a rocky road. Our boys are both away at college and so it’s just the two of us here most of the time. We met our goal of retiring by 40, but I really hadn’t fully realized what that meant. As an empty nest mama, I went back to work for the social aspect and my husband chose to stay home. When he was gone all day at work I’d bustle around, get the kids off to school, make beds, clean the bathrooms and get dinner started. I had all day to kinda forget what slobs the three of them are! Now I come home most days to a sink full of dishes that weren’t there when I left, and assorted residue and crumbs, butter and condiments left out, coffee dribbles on the counter… I have tried many, many times to get my husband to pick up after himself and it’s finally dawning on me that he just doesn’t see what I see. I see a crumpled hand towel, bath mat left on the floor and toothpaste speckles on the mirror. He just doesn’t see it. I’m trying really hard not to nag, but when I come home I’d like to find that things are as they were when I left for work, if not even improved! So I am trying to resolve this without feeling like a nag or a martyr!❤
I hear you when you feel that your laundry is behind. I want to offer you to give yourself some grace because no one is walking around without clothes on, so in my opinion, you're doing something right. ;)
There’s just three of us at home now. My husband, myself and my youngest son who is 24, so we are all responsible for our own laundry. My husband does his own unless he needs help with some due to work schedules, then I’ll help wash. When both of my sons were living here they did their own laundry once they got to a certain age. I couldn’t keep up with it all and everything else around the house. Declutterring will help you so much.
What a great vid! And I'm proud of you for getting rid of the unnecessary stuff. Yes, more of this! We are possibly moving to another state in a few months, & my husband & I are already taking steps to get rid of even more stuff to make our live easier! ❤
Thanks for the great video! One trick I came up with for laundry is that every time I walk by the laundry basket I put away 5 items. It makes it much more doable if I break it up that way, and is almost fun
Oh Lori, I got really overwhelmed when my 3 children were young. I was not a good house keeper. I was trying to make my kids happy and neglect the house work.

Very wise advice! I hope it continues to work for you!
❤️❤️
Laundry's my weakness too, I like the idea of picking one day a week to do it, hope that works for you. 💙💜💙💜
I’ll keep you posted!

❤️❤️❤️❤️. Thank you so much
We're a lot alike. I'm really getting after it this year too. I can't be a slave to stuff. ❤
YES! I love to thrift and then it bites me in the rear 😂
Very interested!

Yay! Yay! Yay!❤
I knew you were going to say that 😂😂😂

I don’t think we pay different for our energy at different times…..I need to look into that!

I’m sorry for your loss.
It is so hard to get rid of things with an emotion attached.
Boring boring boring.

Yes! I think it will too!
I’ve already done a major round a few years ago..time to start again.

I seem to find myself declutterring every new season of the year and yet I still have more to declutter.
She’s in need of immediate decluttering, BIG TIME!!’
What a great vid!

Oh wow! That’s a big thing…moving everything. It makes you want to have nothing!!!
Thank you so much for this video! I am a homemaker and I also work outside the home. Sometimes I feel like a raving lunatic trying to do everything.
I know that has to be hard. Sending love to you!! ❤️❤️❤️
