I think Pocahontas 2 is based on real world historical events or at least more based on real life events than the original movie was . Cos if I remember correctly a 13 year old Pocahontas went to England and all that shit happened to her and more.
Both Pocahontas movies make me so fucking pissed because she was a goddamn CHILD who was KIDNAPPED from her people, raped and died young. She was kidnapped at age 12, gave birth at 17, and was literally only 20 years old at the time of her death. She was viewed as an object, oddity and “civilized savage” after being dragged away from her people, and now her actual history has been widely erased and misremembered because Disney decided to make her into one of their “princesses”. Her name wasn’t even Pocahontas, it was Matoaka, and her tribe still exists to this day. Like for fucks sake, she was a real person, but now so many people just view her as an “aesthetic” fictional character. (would like to note this is in no way a criticism of you or your video, since you literally talk about how awful the second movie is, this is fully a criticism of Disney as a whole)
I knew that Didney Pocahontas was bad, but I didnt know the real world history was that bad! Jesus, it's something that should have never happened. I don't know what Disney was thinking, or smoking at that time.

Actually Disney didn't make up the version they showed. The real John Smith wrote an autobigraphy which was basically fanfiction where he was the hero and all the women were into him and he aged up Pocahontas for it. That's the version that was well known for a long time. Not excusing Disney though since the real story had come out by this time.
Pocahontas was one of my favorite Disney princesses at one point because I loved how close she was with nature, but after learning about the actual history I stopped liking the Disney princess one. I still like the songs from the movie tho

5:45 Actually Forte's thinking was "I'm finally useful! The Master NEEDS me! If the spell gets broken, he won't need me anymore, just like before" And as for what can he do, he almost took down the entire castle with his music, and by keeping the curse is literally condemning every living thing in the castle to DEATH
Also I'm sure it made him not only feel useful, but powerful, because music can hold so much power over a person, and to be able to be that evil advisor character, but in a way that you seem invisible in terms of intentions, has got to feel like you're the puppeteer
101 DALMATIONS 2 WAS SOOOOO FUN!!! I was not expecting to like it as much as I did! Also let me know what you think of Lady and the Tramp 2 it definitely has that same fun feel for me but with BOPS thrown into the mix
Fun Fact: 101 Dalmatians is a book, and it has a sequel. The Disney Sequel is not based on the book sequel because the book sequel is freaking bugnuts. It's called The Starlight Barking, and to make a long story short, all the dogs discover that everyone except for dogs is in a coma now, and dogs can communicate telepathically and fly. You might be saying, wait, no, don't make that story short, I need context to make that make sense! I'm sorry to say that It would not help. Anyway, the alien dogs come...
I am seeing so much love and support for Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea, and it makes me so happy. It's my all time favorite Disney sequel, Melody is wonderful, Ariel is at least more understanding than her father was with her in the first movie, and also, no one ever talks about it, but like Ariel was the first Disney Princess to become Queen before Frozen, AND she has a child! The *only* Disney Princess to have a child! Also, Melody is voiced by Tara Strong, so that fucking rocks.
Fun fact: For my 7th birthday I had a movie viewing party, but the movie I wanted to watch was a direct to video Disney sequel (one you didn't mention here, _Stitch! The Movie_ ) so we ended up hooking up a DVD player to the film projector
Two annoying songs aside, can we all agree that Iago is the most consistently well written character in the entire Aladdin Franchise? I especially love the friendship he makes with Aladdin's dad, Cassim, in the third film.
YES! I was a weird kid that got irrationally attached to random characters, and Iago was one of those. I'm so glad they made him the literal main character of the second movie lol
Too bad we didn't get to see your response to Kronk's New Groove! That movie traumatized me, and the person in charge of the first segment was 100% a furry.
I don’t think Kiara was boring her version of the story just wasn’t as interesting as Kovu’s. When you look at it they were two side of the same coin Kovu just had higher stakes because if he failed he was either dead or alone Kiara’s highest risk was being under guard for the rest of her life which the movie showed she could easily slip away from.
Actually I have a lot of friends of Indigenous descent who really loved the movie, including one of them was their favorite Disney couple. I’m of Indigenous descent too and already knew the actual story of Pocahontas before I even saw it, and its one of my favorite movies
Scamp’s Adventure is a great movie. It does an amazing job of returning the magic that the original brought to fans. Sure it has its problems but it shouldn’t be hated upon. A third movie could’ve easily fixed the issues and complaints fans had. But nothing else came except a disappointing remake of the first movie. I’m a huge fan of the franchise and I did a fanfic story for a third movie. I have a script. I want it to be a fan film one day. To return the magic that was lost due to Disney abandoning the franchise.
I feel like Disney doesn’t want to put in the effort to reintroduce the world to younger generations when they can just expand on “more recent” stories. I hope a third movie comes out too! There’s so much charm in its simplicity
2:20 couldn’t agree more! Lady and the Tramp 2 was a staple of my childhood. Me and my sister loved it, we even use to play “Junkyard Dogs” because of it 10:48 Tara Strong voices Melody, she voices characters such as Timmy Turner, Twilight Sparkle, and Miss. Minutes.
And Bubbles(Powerpuff Girls), and Daizy(Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!)… She was even Dexter’s soundalike voice actor in Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion(basically the first attempt they made at a CN Smash before MultiVersus)
I’m sad you didn’t talk about The Lion King 1 1/2. I haven’t seen it in years, but I have strange, vivid flashbacks about some of its scenes all the time. I really liked Timon’s Mother and her relationship with her dorky son.
I’m so biased towards The Little Mermaid 2, when I was a kid I watched it all the time on VHS and loved it so bad. Melody is just so lovable and fun and the walrus and penguin were adorable to watch, the shark had my heart, and honestly Morgana was cruel she was going to actually kill Melody with no second thought but she was also so kind to her when things went her way I loved the movie a lot.
Hunchback of Notre Dame both movies were absolute masterpieces I don’t know how to explain it no other Disney movie comes close besides and only besides Prince Of Egypt (I’m actually not sure if that’s a Disney movie but it’s life changing)
@@luxbug2545 Prince Of Egypt is DreamWorks. It makes sense that you compared Prince Of Egypt and Hunchback Of Notre Dame, since they're both darker kids movies with religion as a story element.
I think little mermaid 2 works so well exactly BECOUSE it's "the same story as the first one". Becouse it's not the exact same. It's mirrored. The entire story is a mirror piece to the first movie, which works perfectly becouse the story is all about someone following in someone elses footsteps unintentionaly. Melody, who follows both Ariel and Erics footsteps in beeing adventurous and feeling drawn to somewhere else. Ariel follows her fathers footsteps, unintentionaly repeating his mistakes in parenting. Morgans want's so desperately to stand apart from Ursula, but resorts to following her footsteps going so far as using URSULAS magic. And all the while, non of the characters feel like they are stagnant or reverted in their development. Who they are as a character, or who they became with characters like Ariel, makes 100% sense for them! (If you can't tell, I love that movie xD)
In my opinion, Kiara is not the main character of Lion King 2. The two main characters are Simba and Kovu. The story is about their distrust, rivalry, and eventual friendship. Kiara's only role was to bring them together in order to unite the lion prides. I mean, just think about it. Kiara was always demanding her freedom, which often placed her near Kovu. She's a literal plot device. It's not her story tho, so that's fine to me.
Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride actually had a spin-off series with a child we never saw in the Movie- that being Kion. I kid you not, that show was amazing. I occasionally listen to the sound track because holy crap was it good!
@@KeefACorn you're not wrong, but I have two points of contention: A) It doesn't hit the same when you're not connecting with it in your formative years. A story told to/for children can mean something different to an adult thanks to context cues and subtext. B) This is a Disney Junior show, and that remains very much not my era (Playhouse Disney/Jetix). The urge to compare and devalue the new is strong simply from confirmation bias. That's the lament. I want to give it a fairer shake than I know I can.
Absolutely correct about Pocahontas II, it was horrible, but we have to give credit where credit is due is was the most realistic and historically accurate Disney movie of the time.
No it wasn’t. Ignoring how grievously inaccurate the first was, this one was only 2% more accurate to the actual story of Pocahontas. Granted Pocahontas should never have been made, but it infuriated me so much the sequel decided to be a grain of salt more accurate after how much criticism the original movie got. She was FORCED to marry John Rolfe and had a son with him before even going to London, let alone reuniting with John Smith. They don’t mention her English name, conversion to Christianity or she wasn’t there for political reasons, plus John Rolfe wasn’t a very good person. The worst part was she unfortunately died in her 20s in England and her body is actually buried in Glasgow Cemetery I believe. Plus a lot of parts that were supposed to reflect how England was at the time was super inaccurate, especially Pocahontas’s English dress.
@@kristinahuchison2511very true plus the story of pocohauntus (praying that’s spelt right) is about someone completely different I think? Like there two separate people not to mention the movie is hella racist. I loved it as a kid but as a teen realize that it’s just.. it’s not right. I don’t know if I’ll watch it again and if I do it’s probably ruined because of what I know now. Back then things were different yata yata they didn’t know any better but me knowing what’s wrong with it ruins it because all I can think is this is so racist. They should remake it. But like way different and much better and directed by someone from a indigenous community
@@RanEdgar-ok3wk only, first I’m talking about the Disney movie of Pocahontas. As a kid I knew the real story of Pocahontas before I watched either movie, I remember being a little disappointed Poca and John Smith weren’t lovers in reality, let alone the same age, and I remember reading about how John Rolfe was the man she married in reality and had a son with. From a young age Pocahontas was one of my favorite Disney Princesses and I simply distinguished the two stories as completely separate entities. The first movie actually had extensive research into the Powhatan tribe and how her people would’ve lived back then. There’s even a documentary on the movie about the making of the movie and trying to make it as culturally accurate as they could get. What I meant was the sequel is pretty racist and disrespectful in some ways, so it makes me upset whenever I see someone say they prefer the sequel over the original movie or say Rolfe was a much better love interest and the argument “John Rolfe was the man she married in reality” The bodyguard Utti is nothing more than a compilation of Native American stereotypes, like not talking, being super tall, having a big nose and ears, and the few moments he actually does speak its in a broken English manner. Same with the scene in her village, its like the movie plopped a bunch of stereotypes together and called it a day, not caring at all about the cultural accuracy.
10:15 Something like this happened in another fish-related movie that I can't remember the name of - everyone was humans turned into fish, and they killed the villain by getting him to drink this potion that made him smarter while making him more human... Underwater. He's sucked into a pipe and never seen again. Terrifying
Maybe I’m desensitized from watching it so much as a kid, but Little Mermaid II was probably “surprisingly good” for me. I also wouldn’t put Mulan II that high cuz as a kid I didn’t like that Mushu was being a selfish jerk and as an adult, is even more inaccurate in culture. But the music was amazing that’s for sure.
I really hated Mulan 2. The whole way they just allowed a whole nation of people to die just because they had to "follow their heart" was so selfish and dumb.
Great sequel list and review! I didn’t know a couple of them existed and now I want to watch them. Everything else was nostalgic for me and I loved Athena’s reaction to them!
Another round of Kiara slander. 🙄 I'll allow it, but something needs to be said for that girl's badboy complex, since she falls for a dude who got close to her to assassinate her father. I mean yes, it works out, but... it can't be undersold how _dark_ the Outsiders' plot was under the leadership of Zira. Especially with the cut content.
Lion King II was one of my favorites in my younger days as well, especially for the music. "My Lullaby" slaps, and no one can change my mind on that, and "Love Will Find a Way" still gets me a little choked up. However, I definitely see what you mean about Kiara being a bit boring. Honestly, it's the same problem I have with Romeo and Juliet. I had a soft spot for Hunchback II growing up, but the animation quality took a huuuuuuuuge downturn from the original (which, you know, makes sense with the smaller budget). I think the ones that held up best for me were Lady and the Tramp II and Little Mermaid II. ... Dangit, now I wanna watch Little Mermaid II again.
I remember in 2020 me and my brother decided to watch all the Disney Princess movies, including the sequels, and we had a literal blast. We got through all of them in about 4 days (it was literally back to back) and it was weird revisiting stories that I ADORED as a kid and finding that they weren't as good as I remembered and ones I remembered hating we're some of my favorites. My favorite OG princess movies were a tie between Cinderella and Moana with Snow White close behind (Idk why but that movie was so funny to me??? And Snow White is such a smartass, I love her!) and my brothers favorite was Sleeping Beauty. We both agreed that he hated Beauty and the Beast the most. It was just so boring and we couldn't get ourselves to care about the beast AT ALL and at some point we stopped caring about Belle too. My favorite sequel was Cinderella 3 and my brother was really tied with Cinderella 3, The Little Mermaid 3, Mulan 2 and Aladdin 3. I love your videos! They are always so funny and match up with my idea of fun so well, it's always a joy!
The fact you put Mulan 2, which is one of the biggest examples of Character Assassination I've ever seen, anywhere above "Ehhh no thanks" is criminal. In fact, "Assassination" is too good a word, it was character GENOCIDE for how they butcher EVERYONE except Chien Po. Also, "Kiara had no flaws" WHAT HUH?! THE FIRST 2/3rds OF THE MOVIE IS HER SCREWING THINGS UP BECAUSE OF HER FLAWS!? Aside from those two issues, overall enjoyed the video. Now to fade back into obscurity where I may be seen again on a random comment in the future
Mulan 2 really shits on the characters. The story didn't really make sense either. But another thing I really hated is how *Spoilerzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz* Shang "dies" and the movie says "he didn't die" literally not even 1 minute after his super emotional "death" + funeral scene. I get it would be super unsatisfying if he died AFTER Mushu made them hate each other but imagine if... eg Mufasa stood up after the movie tried its best to become emotional. Bro what was that for?! If you wanna make a fakeout death, don't make the "death" scene so dramatic. It won't work if you watch it for the second time.
Fun fact: in the second movie pocahontas marrys John Rolfe and that's the most historically accurate thing because she did actually marry John Rolfe in real life
Fun fact: John Rolfe was a lot older than Pocahontas, AND she was forced to marry him because of an illegitimate pregnancy. Not to mention he was actually a pretty awful person in reality, he wasn’t this squeaky clean nice gentleman the movie tried portraying him as. So yeah, Disney really should’ve rolled with their own mess and stuck with their story instead of trying to forcibly make the sequel “historically accurate” when its more racist than the first
Athena:I liked The Hunchback of Notre Dom 2 Me:Wait till you watch the original and figure out that it doesn't continue the same storyline (Edit:Nvm, it not only doesn't continue the same storyline but it also basically just repeats the first one)
Enchanted Christmas is about a cycle of abuse. Forte wants to groom the Beast (who was a teenager when he was turned and Forte was an old man btw) to be "his", and fills his head with distrust toward outsiders. So the Beast enacts that on Bell, who just wants to help him despite him being awful to her. Dark stuff. Makes me both sympathize with Beast and hate him.
Honesty Lady and the Tramp 2 :Scamps adventure would probably take the title of “Best Disney Sequel with the worst title.” I have heard Along with with Cinderella 3 a Twist in time. Think about it “Lady and the Tramp 2 :Scamps Adventure” sounds terrible sounds like they phoned it in, but it had a lot of effort put into it along with great moments.
The taglines are a bit wordy but in some ways I get it because they are trying to catch people's attention. If people just heard "cinderella 3" they'd think JEEZ A THIRD MOVIE?? But maybe the twist in time part would intrigue them even though it is VERY silly
Bambi 2 was my literal childhood my Nana had it recorded so I watched it every time I went to her house. Now I cry whenever I watch it because all the innocence is gone
Wait hold up- I just realized- in the beginning of The Little Mermaid 2, Melody could breathe just fine under water as a human. But then suddenly she can't later on?
No, no, no, no, no. I'm sorry, but I'll start with saying that we shouldn't even compare it to the first movie like that. They have two completely different tones, and it would be too much if the sequel gave us a second Frollo. Secondly, I have to say that Quasimodo and Madellaine are Disney's most underrated couple.
my favorite direct-to-DVD disney sequel is the Extremely Goofy Movie😼 i also vaguely remember watching Cinderella 3 at a friend’s house back in 3rd grade and liking it, so that one too
THANK YOU FOR AGREEING the Mulan 2 movie is my absolute favorite now and as a kid the beginning song will ALWAYS be my favorite 💖 I think it's called lesson number one? But I still have the DVD from blockbuster haha though it's melted from how much I rewatched it as a kid
Back again. I liked Bambi 2 more than the original bc I like that it's an in-between movie. I thought the transition from baby to adult in the first film was jarring and missing something, which Bambi 2 filled perfectly
As a kid I thought Bambi was eh but now I watched both movies back to back and I think 1 is alright while 2 is goat. This sequel was a huge upgrade imo. I didn't like how the first movie was very short and also very slow at the same time. In Bambi 2 there's stuff happening constantly and Bambi is more of a character too. I expected it was going to be another kinda mid cashgrab but I would out it in S tier actually. It's both great and a big step up from the original which normally doesn't happen.
omg finally someone who loves lady and the tramp 2 😭 a lot of people dislike it just bc Disney Sequel but like it's SO GOOD??? Scamps run away song is literally one of my favorite Disney songs and don't even get me started on the designs in this movie bc augh this movie is such a gem ty for reviewing it
I FORGOT ABOUT THE 101 DALMATIANS SEQUEL one of my friends had it on VHS and she would just keep rewinding it so that Lars would just say “if you will be my… *muse*” like dozens of times. So that’s definitely the only thing I remember about the whole movie.
i ALWAYS click videos about dvd sequels only to hear people talk about the lady and the tramp 2, my FAVORITE movies a kid. you are the only one whos said anything good or not skipped over it soo fast
As a kid I liked The little Mermaid 2 so much more than the first movie cause its way more wish fulfillment to go from human to mermaid. I wanted to be like Melody sooo bad
In Cinderella 3 the emotional arc between the king and step sister is what made that movie so great, of course the romance was interesting too, but it was really the step sisters movie.
I was just thinking about Return of Jafar. I remember watching it as a kid, and Iago goes to the market and is singing his "I Want" song to them, but as a kid, I was like... who are these animals? Wait, why is there an elephant? Are these the animals that were abandoned in Agrabah after Prince Ali's big entrance in the first movie? It's always great to go back and rewatch things you misinterpreted as a kid and realize that you had some seriously dark thoughts.
@@AthenaPOfficialI mean, you do realize Disney wasn’t the first to romanticize Pocahontas with John Smith?? This idea has been made several times, including a Looney Tunes short. Its not something Disney made. Also I actually do have friends of Indigenous descent who enjoy the movie
I didn't realize Return of Jafar was a straight to video sequel until like 2016 and I kind of forgot it existed until now. When I was a kid it was just part of the first movie because I would always watch them together, and at one point I only had Return to Jafar and I kind of thought I imagined the first one every time I would watch it and be like "I swear I thought this was about something else"
You REALLY should have watched The Hunchback Of Notre Dame before watching the sequel because the first one really is superior in every way. The music, the animation, it's all beautiful. The Sanctuary/Burning of Paris scene is *chef's kiss. Don't know if you're into Broadway musicals but I would HIGHLY recommend the stage version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. It's here on youtube if you wanna watch it. It's so good, and I have no problem saying it is the better Victor Hugo musical *cough cough * Les Mis *cough Yeah....I go hard for this story, haha
I'm a little offended that Cinderella 3 isn't at the very top because it is PEAK cinema imo. I very rarely get as hyped about things as I did when I was younger but cinderella 3 is so damn good even years later
Lol I'm not the only one who likes the princesses in Mulan 2! I liked that movie for that reason ^^ I didn't like Mushu, like someone could just give me the story of the princesses and I'd be happy. Lion king 2 is my favorite, of course, but I'm satisfied with it being on top of Surprisingly good :)
As somebody who adores Beauty and the Beast and gets annoyed when people over-simplify it, I HATE the midquels so much. It's boring to see Beast pre character development anyway (and arguably worse), but they also make Belle weak-willed and desperately trying to fix him because she thinks there's good in him. Movie Belle didn't take ANY garbage and only warmed up to Beast when he started behaving decently and got a grip. He's the one who puts the work in to improve himself, not her. I guess the writers assumed because we know they'll fall in love they didn't have to try, but in the end it just undoes all the work the movie did making their relationship believable. This is basically what people who hate BATB think the original movie was and no amount of Tim Curry organ can save it.

Also I'm sure it made him not only feel useful, but powerful, because music can hold so much power over a person, and to be able to be that evil advisor character, but in a way that you seem invisible in terms of intentions, has got to feel like you're the puppeteer
I forgot that Lady and the Tramp had a sequel, you have motivated me to watch it. Also, I used to watch 101 Dalmations 2 like all the time as a child.
That is SO FUN!!! Also now I definitely gotta check out that movie! Maybe watch it the same way too bc that seems like the proper way to view it
Two annoying songs aside, can we all agree that Iago is the most consistently well written character in the entire Aladdin Franchise?
Wish kovu had his own movie
Because my dad is indigenous, he wouldn't allow pocahontas anything in our house. Whenever he was asked all he'd say is "That movie's bullshit"
Actually I have a lot of friends of Indigenous descent who really loved the movie, including one of them was their favorite Disney couple. I’m of Indigenous descent too and already knew the actual story of Pocahontas before I even saw it, and its one of my favorite movies
Okay but Aladdins dad is a dilf and I will die on this hill. I know the movies trash, but Cassim can get it💛
OK YOU GOT A POINT THERE I'LL ADMIT IT
Absolute dilf I love me a good beard (゚ο゚人))
i came to the comments to say this thank you
The piano in the Beauty and the Beast sequel was voiced by Tim Curry, just in case anyone cared to know.
@@AthenaPOfficial I made a video taking about my idea for one. You should check it out Here’s the link to it ua-cam.com/video/_W3-M0x3BUo/v-deo.html
2:20 couldn’t agree more! Lady and the Tramp 2 was a staple of my childhood. Me and my sister loved it, we even use to play “Junkyard Dogs” because of it
10:48 Tara Strong voices Melody, she voices characters such as Timmy Turner, Twilight Sparkle, and Miss. Minutes.
11:39 the beating of the bear is actually a historically accurate activity called “Bear Baiting”
Also the Baker that Anastasia falls in love with in Cinderella 2 comes back in the credits for Cinderella 3.
And Bubbles(Powerpuff Girls), and Daizy(Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!)…
She was even Dexter’s soundalike voice actor in Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion(basically the first attempt they made at a CN Smash before MultiVersus)
I’m sad you didn’t talk about The Lion King 1 1/2. I haven’t seen it in years, but I have strange, vivid flashbacks about some of its scenes all the time. I really liked Timon’s Mother and her relationship with her dorky son.
Gosh I remember begging my parents to get the movie and we finally got it on VCD. Love the music in that one.

Okay, but The little mermaid Ariel’s beginning… I watched that so many times growing up.
So happy you also love Mulan II!! That movie was such a part of my childhood!!
I’m so glad you agree with Mulan 2 and The little Mermaid 2! I loved both of those movies when I was younger!
Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride actually had a spin-off series with a child we never saw in the Movie- that being Kion.
I kid you not, that show was amazing.
I occasionally listen to the sound track because holy crap was it good!
I kinda regret being too old to've grown up with Lion Guard.

When it comes to watching kids shows, I don’t see why age should stop you
@@KeefACorn you're not wrong, but I have two points of contention:
A) It doesn't hit the same when you're not connecting with it in your formative years.

Doug walker would disagree 😂 jk it could worse
Absolutely correct about Pocahontas II, it was horrible, but we have to give credit where credit is due is was the most realistic and historically accurate Disney movie of the time.
Your pfp is a Skittle
yup
Terrifying

Thank YOU for watching and enjoying!! Your comments always make my day
Maybe I’m desensitized from watching it so much as a kid, but Little Mermaid II was probably “surprisingly good” for me.
Bullshit, Mushu managed to make sure that no such thing happened.
Great sequel list and review! I didn’t know a couple of them existed and now I want to watch them. Everything else was nostalgic for me and I loved Athena’s reaction to them!
Another round of Kiara slander. 🙄
I'll allow it, but something needs to be said for that girl's badboy complex, since she falls for a dude who got close to her to assassinate her father.
THANK YOU FOR SAYING THE LITTLE MERMAID 2 IS’NT THAT BAD!!! 👏👏👏👏
It may just be nostalgia but I will defend it with my life.
6:35 TO EAT A WHOLE CAKE
WITH FROSTING
Also, "Kiara had no flaws"
WHAT
HUH?!
So yeah, Disney really should’ve rolled with their own mess and stuck with their story instead of trying to forcibly make the sequel “historically accurate” when its more racist than the first
Athena:I liked The Hunchback of Notre Dom 2
Me:Wait till you watch the original and figure out that it doesn't continue the same storyline
(Edit:Nvm, it not only doesn't continue the same storyline but it also basically just repeats the first one)
4:29 lmfao I remember loving this movie😭 I now realize the error of my ways but it already has nostalgic & sentimental value for me💀
Enchanted Christmas is about a cycle of abuse.
He (the church style organ) is as beast in itself, he fears losing his purpose in life because his 'master' is a prince
I have a distant memory of watching Pocahotas II, and all I really remember is her in the Brittain dress
I'm going to say Hunchback 2 is abysmal particularly if you watch it right after watching the first one
God yes the sequel vs Frollo is like a seafood vs a plate of turds
No, no, no, no, no.
I'm sorry, but I'll start with saying that we shouldn't even compare it to the first movie like that.
They have two completely different tones, and it would be too much if the sequel gave us a second Frollo.
Secondly, I have to say that Quasimodo and Madellaine are Disney's most underrated couple.
my favorite direct-to-DVD disney sequel is the Extremely Goofy Movie😼 i also vaguely remember watching Cinderella 3 at a friend’s house back in 3rd grade and liking it, so that one too
the goofy movies are cinematic masterpieces, animated perfection

Scamps run away song is literally one of my favorite Disney songs and don't even get me started on the designs in this movie bc augh this movie is such a gem ty for reviewing it
I think the og was better but this one was great too. I would say S tier among DvD sequels and high B / low A as a Disney movie. Also Angel is cute.
I love Mulan 2 and i wanna be like other girls is a bop I freaking love that song

When are we gonna put Athena in a Disney movie? She has the voice and energy, come on people!
I FORGOT ABOUT THE 101 DALMATIANS SEQUEL one of my friends had it on VHS and she would just keep rewinding it so that Lars would just say “if you will be my… *muse*” like dozens of times. So that’s definitely the only thing I remember about the whole movie.
When I was working in dole, I would sing Melody's songs to get through work

I WAS OBSSESED WITH LADY AND THE TRAMP 2, your so real for this
In Cinderella 3 the emotional arc between the king and step sister is what made that movie so great, of course the romance was interesting too, but it was really the step sisters movie.
Pocahontas is based on her real life she did marry the tobacco guy but died at 21 and never seeing her home again x
That is so sad! Why did they think her story would be good for Disney???

You REALLY should have watched The Hunchback Of Notre Dame before watching the sequel because the first one really is superior in every way. The music, the animation, it's all beautiful. The Sanctuary/Burning of Paris scene is *chef's kiss.
Don't know if you're into Broadway musicals but I would HIGHLY recommend the stage version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. It's here on youtube if you wanna watch it. It's so good, and I have no problem saying it is the better Victor Hugo musical *cough cough * Les Mis *cough
Yeah....I go hard for this story, haha
I'm a little offended that Cinderella 3 isn't at the very top because it is PEAK cinema imo. I very rarely get as hyped about things as I did when I was younger but cinderella 3 is so damn good even years later
