@miki1140 First of all, the engagement was ARRANGED- he had no say in the matter. Second of all, he keeps putting off the wedding day so he can stay around Maya as long as he can. So, you shouldn't be mad at him, or rather, his father- who arranged the marriage.
But that's only in the anime, in the manga he actually breaks off the engagement with Shiori-san & he realizes that Maya is in love with him & both Masumi-sama & Maya promise to wait for each other. He is determined to break off the engagement no matter what & be with Maya but he still hasn't told her he is the Purple Rose!

im really mad right now why because first hayami is like sending roses to maya i know he likes her but then at the end he goes on and gets engaged to this one girl and he doesnt even care how maya feels and why does he keep sending her roses if hes getting in engaged i hate him so much right now i mean if he broke off his engagement with the girl hes engaged to and be willing to wait for maya id reconsider liking him but for right now i hate him
