Never would have thought that eating seasonal fruits & vegetables, low amounts of sugar & low amounts or organic, unprocessed meats would be ideal in preventing chronic diseases.
I got here by accident and I must say it is one of the best documentaries on food that I have ever seen! High quality research material, very entertaining and I love how I learned more about ,,modern|| hunter gatherers. I wish I had the chance to expereince bushtucker while I live din Australia. But I lived within a fairly whitewashed society and had no real chance to meet actual aboriginal people. However, I believe that there will be a next time!
That last part about the greatest invention had me chuckling a bit. I have to agree that it is one of the best things mankind has ever invented. Interestingly, ancient Mesoamericans had a recipe quite similar to the modern day taco.
Can we do an experiment where we feed multiple generations of apes cooked food and see if they evolve? Or is that unethical? I mean, they’ll be getting some bussin food
If they're just being given the food, there won't be an selective pressures to make them smarter. One of the reasons this helped drive evolution of a bigger brain, is not only that we had the calories now, but we also had environmental factors that meant being smarter had a higher chance of survival. So it would take a few more steps than that, but not unethical I don't think. Let's get some talking chimps and raccoons.
I see you're a man of taste as well. My girlfriend eats her steak WELL DONE. Can you believe it? I told her to try eating medium rare for once to actually taste any flavor but she said its too raw for her. Not even medium well either, only well done.
Excellent program, but very disappointed that there was no mention of ALICE WATERS, who single-handedly invented organic food in the USA and the slow food movements as well as Edible Classroom in poor neighborhoods.
@Donald Morris you realize that atheism is highly correlated with depression, suicide and nihilism? believers live 5 years longer we have significantly more children we are much more sacrificial we are much more well liked atheists are typically cowards because they don't believe there is an afterlife ntm morality is just a preference without God every single thing has gotten worse in America as weve become more secular more inequality, more divorce, more crime, more illegitimacy, more mental illness etc etc
@@paulsansonetti7410 Being an Atheists is for fools because that accept the paradox of life, you came from nothing, imagine trying to tell your unborn self that there is somehow a reality that came from absolutely nothing, it's impossible to explain and impossible to happen and yet we are here, the impossible. Just because you don't care to believe in Christanity or a major religion doesn't mean you should dismiss the idea of something like a God, that is a flawed ideal system and that is why religion exists, because we know there is a higher power and each country seeks out for it automatically

I don’t think that’s what the documentary is saying. What is sort of referencing is that the modern day preparation of food and how was distributed to the masses is unhealthy. What it did not say was that it’s largely bad due to unhealthy chemicals labeled as preservatives being added. What it did say is that modern cooking methods and technology are being used to create new twists with rediscovered foods/recipes.
Some of this documentary feels so racist and outdated. You are, at times, fming these pepple as if they were animals -- and literally saying they are akin to prehistoric ancestors. What. The. Fuck.
actualy they are not framing these people they r showing the truth it might be true that some parts may be exaggurated but most of its the truth. stop being so woke
Me at 3 am suddenly wondering who came up with cooking first
Me at 2 am, 2 month later wondering the same thing 🙈
😂😂
me at midnight wondering the same.
Me at midnight wondering "How do our brains work to survive?"
2:30 am in Texas right now. I was suddenly here and this is where it brought me.

Glad you enjoyed it!
Cooking, would eventually lead to the greatest invention, the "writing" of the world's first recipe.
I loved this thanks for sharing !!! 💕🙌
it was lacking depth, very brief on the ancients of this part of the world, eskimos were not included
What did we cook first, the chicken or the egg?
The egg.

Interesting topic, but the music is nearly as loud as the commentary and partly drowning it out. Is it really necessary?
That was a banging intro

We where hunters so my guess was that we used fire to hunt and the taste of burnt meat evolved.
Where can I find the berries? I search and search but find no where. Only in Tanzania?

did anyone catch the name of the african hunther gatherer tribe?
Why haven't the other animals discovered this ?
Because none had the intelligence or the anatomy to do what we did.
Because we ate them
