Julianne’s bravery and vulnerability have me in tears. This is an enormous thing to share with the world and I give her so much credit and love for being so radically open. Sending her so much love and continued healing. Her journey is so interesting and awe-inspiring!! ❤️
Thank you so much for your beautiful words. Julianne's courage and openness truly touched many hearts. It’s incredible to witness her strength and the healing journey she’s on. 💖
Listening to this interview with Julianne, I appreciate the gift of her not hiding herself. When you are so used to keeping yourself safe so others will not see your pain or showing a persona that's not the real you, it's huge to come out from all those layers and go on that journey to discover your true self. It takes courage and strength to be raw with others and yourself.(honestly, scary too😱) To be willing to feel the pain and want the healing that actually heals. But it is so freeing. Julianne has done that(you too Jamie❤). Her story touched and encouraged me to keep moving forward on my own healing and becoming all I am meant to be.
It’s a powerful reminder that healing is a journey, and though it can be scary, the freedom and strength that come from embracing our true selves are worth every step. I'm so glad this conversation touched and encouraged you-keep moving forward on your journey, knowing you’re not alone, and that your healing and growth are so valuable. 💖✨
The Worthy Movement is in my opinion the single most important movement in a very long time. You are providing a safe, unconditional space for all people to be vulnerable, honest and at times discovery by talking, and sharing experiences. This Worthy movement is inspirational, provides hopes and acknowledgement of my own journey. I am so grateful for you Jamie, Julianne and all of your guests and their (your) perseverance, and drive to share to encourage others to find freedom in healing.
Abandoned @ 22 months old orphaned until 5 yrs old, adopted @ 5-11 than foster cared due to sexual abuse and threatened to be killed by family member in 18 yrs and than got married @ 20 but after 32 yrs of toxic marriage. I firmly believe God has a huge purpose for my life especially after hearing the authenticity of Julianne Hough experiences. I attended Trent Shelton experience a few weeks ago. And this is where God placed Jamie Kern Lima in my path, which now leads me to this UA-cam. And to now know God had a huge purpose for my life, but I always took care of everyone else, so now God is slowly working on me
First let me say this was an excellent interview with Julianne. I admire her openness and vulnerability. This is the first time I watched your show--I usually listen on my morning walk on my phone. I must say watching it allows the interview to make more sense. When listening to it only, the intro and then the ads chop the interview up and take away from it. Even on the video the last 8 minutes or so are just worthy ads. I have the book and have read most of it--but hearing the ads for it repeatedly discourages me from completing it. I want to hear an interview on a podcast--not half my time listening to ads. Especially for something I already own and get the newsletter. Julianne is one of my favorite people from Dancing with the Stars. I was so happy to hear her interview and to see how her growth has taken place. It is a way shower for many. She has so much to offer and by her admission, you bring out more from her in an interview-which benefits not only Julianne but us the listeners. I would love to hear more in a pure interview format without all the ads. You have the ability to have the tough conversations with your guests. I would like more of that and less commercials.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and constructive feedback. I truly appreciate your honesty and your support for the show and Julianne’s journey. I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed the interview and that watching the show brought a different perspective to the experience.
This episode really resonated with me and gave me the strength to continue writing my memoir. It has not been easy to face some of these fears, which have taken my power and dulled my light, because I know my purpose now is to make a difference for others! Thank you for being so vulnerable 🙏
I'm so deeply touched by your words. It’s incredible that this episode has given you the strength to keep writing. Keep shining your light and embracing your purpose. 💖✨
Absolutely! Julianne's courage to share her story is a powerful reminder that vulnerability can be a gateway to healing for so many. It’s truly inspiring to see how her openness creates a space for others to feel safe in their own journey. 💖✨
She's such a force of nature. I salute her vulnerability and strength. Have been a fan of hers for years. She's so talented but what I love most about her is her personality and willingness to be her true self and encourage others to get their power back and love themselves. I'm an OG kinrgyst and will forever be grateful for her and what she built. In a time she was the most vulnerable she created a community, an expanded family. Jules, I hope you'll read this comment section because all of these comments are a true testimony of the beautiful light you are. ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words! Julianne's bravery and openness are truly inspiring. I'm so glad her journey resonated with you. I can’t wait to share the next episode! 💖✨
I don't actually know how I ended up on this interview as I'm not super familiar with Julianne outside of Dancing with Stars, but I'm glad I listened to this. That one sentence about the Sprite bottle...just knocks the wind out of you. My heart aches for her. It has so much power in its innocence and devastation that her understanding of what had happened was akin to the same feeling she had when drinking pop. I can't imagine how confused that little girl must have been after her neighbour hurt her, but I am so proud of her for not letting him - or anyone else - have the last word as she designs her own life in a way that honours her, her power, and her authenticity.
Of all the things JH has accomplished, I believe this is the greatest of them all. Not in a million years has she done anything wrong. This will help so many people. God’s light is shining on you JH!
Julianne thank you so much for sharing all you shared on here today. I lived some of the same situations as you and thought I had dealt with and realized listening to you I have more work to do for myself in myself. What a blessing you are. So much gratitude thank you thank you. Jamie I want to thank you for saying that age doesn’t matter when you go through your journey I am in my mid 60’s so your comment meant so much. Love your book love your shows. Love to you…
Healing is a lifelong journey, and your courage to continue that work is truly inspiring. Age is just a number, and every step forward you take is powerful and important. You are worthy of all the love and healing that comes your way. 💖🌟
Thank you Julianne for the vulnerability and honesty. I am still healing from many past abuses and traumas. We all need to hear things that we resonate with to heal. Jamie is right on point with saying we need to hear more of these real experiences and you are helping more people than you know at this time. I have kept things to myself for over 35 years before I could speak about them to only a few people. So much love and appreciation for this discussion! Jamie, Ed was correct in telling you, this is your calling at this time. Your beautiful heart and soul, bringing out the best and most heartfelt from your guests! Kathi💖
Your support means the world to me, and I’m grateful for the connection we’re all building through these discussions. Sending you strength on your continued journey. 💖
Julianne…you are not alone, my friend…. I’m holding your hand tight, as I and so many are on this healing journey with you…There is a beautiful life on the other side of the healing rainbow filled with so much hope, love & joy🌈🕊️ meet you there!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful message of support. Julianne is surrounded by an incredible community. Let’s keep supporting one another and embracing the hope and love. 💖
This was a great show! I have had a similar walk, and was pretty sure I was going to die of a broken heart! It has taken me 6 years to get through the journey that I am now writing a book about. Overcoming the journey is well worth it, but it does take a lot of belief in God, yourself, and trust! Unfortunately, for me I was 54 years old when my life unraveled. I am thankful she did not go through a majority of her life before her discovery.
Really have to honor Julianne for her authenticity and vulnerability in this episode. I really related to her story and am looking forward to the next episode. Once again, Jamie, you do a fabulous job in being with your guest and creating that safe space for them to open up in order to help those in your audience. I've followed Julianne for years and this explains a lot in how there was often a disconnect while completely loving her gifts and talents. Julianne, that fear you are feeling is opening you up to the true connection you've wanted with others in all the amazing things you create and do. I can't wait to see!
Thank you so much. Julianne's authenticity and vulnerability in this episode truly resonate on a deep level, and it’s beautiful to see how her story is helping others feel seen and understood. Your support and understanding mean the world to both of us! 💖
I so much honor Jules for her vulnerability in sharing, allowing herself to heal even more and empowering other women to reclaim their voice and power. A special shout out also to JKL. Not sure if anyone else noticed how VERY PRESENT JKL was with Jules. We sometimes underestimate the gift of presence in our human connection, which itself is healing and empowering. Did anyone else notice that at the beginning of the show/interview, JKL and Jules had a more perky vibe in the speed and tone of voices of and conversation. Then with some head nods and hmmms.. leading up to right around the 20:55 mark, you would notice JKL slowed the pace of her speech, lowered the tone of her voice, and asked Jules about the abuse with such tenderness. And then as Jules started to share, JKL repeated “four years old” with such an empathetic tone and for emphasis. Without needing to say more, this reflective summary comment/response basically said, “I’M HERE WITH YOU” to Jules without having to literally say so! I could go on and on to say more of all the ways I noticed connected presence was demonstrated here; the silence, the deep breaths, the verbal affirming, the space between speech/comment, choice of words, and more! It gives me chills! I must say though that at 38:06 when Jules said to JKL, “you know how to get there…”, the emphasis really was “you created the space for me to feel safe and be able to vulnerable share!.. and I want to do that for other people!” Thank you JKL for the Masterclass! I take that reminder with me, that through presence and connectedness, we create the spaces for people in our lives to share, and in turn further along their healing journey! 🙏🏿
Thank you so much for noticing! Julianne’s vulnerability and strength are truly inspiring, and I’m grateful to be part of these moments that can help others on their own journeys. We’re all in this together! 💖

So much raw real vulnerability shared here, I shed tears, and love myself even a little more now, thank you for your courage compassion and heroic choices ❤
thank you Julianne, you are already helping me on my journey. someone i looked up to for so many years now, following your career as im a dancer too… now i relate to you more and more as a woman on a healing journey just trying to grow and find peace and offer that space to others. you are offering that safe space and its coming full circle.. THANK YOU. 💛
Julianne’s journey and openness truly have a ripple effect, touching lives and creating spaces for healing and growth. It's beautiful to see how her story resonates with you as a woman on your own path of healing. Thank you for sharing this. 💖
Why have I not heard of the kind and gentle woman before and why doesn’t she have her own Tv show and not Oprah. I will continue to watch her and spread the word
Thank you Julianne for sharing your life experiences and "unraveling". I can SO relate! There were some profound moments for me in both these episodes. Thank you again- your vulnerability is greatly appreciated ❤
This is sad how we always come full circle to the truth. I wish Julianne's family would expose these pervert losers. They crippled this beautiful family. I am glad God gave the affected Hough siblings the strength to perservere to be the amazing, talented, beautiful and successful people that they are now. . So tragic what happened to her beloved dogs. As much as she was there for her friends, I wish they would have equally been there for her!! Such is life. I pray for her and her families healing, May they all be infused with true love and peace.. Jaime.. God Bless you for being a catalyst in helping Julianne "delayer" more of her truth. We love her! God has her back..!🙏🙏❤❤
Sending so much love to you both. Jamie - I love your podcast. The more I watch, the more I start to get that your message of worthiness might just actually truly apply to *me* too...not "there" yet..but getting there.
Thank you so much for your beautiful message. It means the world to hear that the podcast is resonating with you and that you're beginning to see your own worthiness-you absolutely deserve to feel it fully. It's a journey, and every step you take is powerful and important. 💖
Awww, now THIS is the Julianne Hough I love. Not hyper, fast-talking, and overly animated. Just a beautiful flow of strength, authenticity, honesty, healing, and groundedness. -- Very stabilizing. Such a great interview. I look forward to Part 2.
Disclosing sexual abuse at a much late time is very normal for victims. Every child has to know at an early age what sexual abuse is and what to do if they have been violated. I was a sex crimes prosecutor for 36 years and have always pushed open and frank discussions with kids.. met with a lot of push back and that is why i wrote my two rhyming books "my privates are private" and "genius with a penis don't touch" . These discussions must be mainstream in today's society as victims living with this secret suffer the most. s
Thank you so much for sharing this important insight and for your dedication to protecting and educating children. Thank you for making a difference! 💖
Very brave of her to share these traumas. There are 2 big patterns that can impact your life if you experience trauma… - Childhood trauma can arrest development. - Humans have an innate desire to repeat what we grew up around, & unfortunately that doesn’t always exclude negative experiences. Given these things, it wouldn’t be surprising if there are parts of her that will always be more comfortable being in a 10-15 year old girl space…or if things like divorce & abuse might be themes that are repeated later in life. If that actually prevents her from finding a lasting relationship or becoming a mother…that’s the toughest part to think about.
Yes, patterns will always repeat. There is hope though, they can be transcended. I'm not sure if it's helpful to share but just incase - here are some incredible practitioners I've come across in my journey. Jon Connelly with Rapid Resolution Therapy - absolutely incredible work. More light / gentle than most things out there and is incredibly incredibly effective. Truly revolutionary. Offers free group sessions every week. Dr Sam Rader with her work called Source Code. Everything is based on dissolving patterns (and re-writing our "source code") picked up in childhood. Identifies and dissolves coping strategies / defense mechanisms. Truly incredible work and also much more gentle and quicker than many things out there. Dr. John DeMartini is incredible. Strongly believes in becoming empowered no matter what your story. Believes we can become free from the baggage of our past and turn it into fuel to empower our lives. Unshaming with David Bedrick - incredible work on healing from shame. MAP with Colette Streicher may also be worth exploring. None of these modalities will resonate with everyone and of course there are SO many others...but these are a few I know who are interested in totally overcoming and transcending the patterns...often times in a relatively gentle approach...maybe this will help someone. Sending love to you all
Thank you for sharing these thoughtful insights. Julianne's bravery in sharing her story brings light to these challenges, and it’s a reminder of how important it is to seek healing and support.❤
Thank you so much! It's incredible how openness can bring about such powerful transformations. Being vulnerable and sharing our stories can truly connect and inspire others. 💖
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so glad this resonated with you and is helping on your healing journey. Sending you so much love and strength as you continue to heal. 💖✨
This song came to mind as I watched this video. I'm not associated with this link at all, but I believe it works harmoniously and could bring some healing after hearing such an open and light-bringing conversation. [ ua-cam.com/video/0BCbJssfFJo/v-deo.html ] Music has a unique way of helping us heal, and I hope this song brings you some comfort. ❤
Two parents and both failed?? How?? And she was okay with sending her kids to live with another family for that many years?? I don’t know how you forgive your parents.
Everyone’s path to healing is unique, and what works for one person may not be the right approach for another. It’s important to allow yourself the time and space to process them in a way that feels right for you. 💖
God can give you a gift but you can waste it with fear coming and the toxic vibes you once had ! Let me not waste my 🎁 gift with lies fear and negativity
Julianne revealed in a different interview that her and Derek were fighting before his wife had her medical emergency. Did he give her permission to share that he was abused in such a brutal way as a child? This woman will do anything to sell you something, which includes telling the world about her family trauma so people buy the book she did not write. That is disgusting behavior. Julianne is a grifter, anything for a dollar, a sell out, just gross.
Julianne’s bravery and vulnerability have me in tears. This is an enormous thing to share with the world and I give her so much credit and love for being so radically open. Sending her so much love and continued healing. Her journey is so interesting and awe-inspiring!! ❤️

It's such a gift to see this side of her. There’s so much more to come, and I’m grateful to have you on this journey with us. 💖✨
Thank you for sharing ❤
It's an honour to share this powerful conversation with you. ❤

Thank you so much for sharing this important insight and for your dedication to protecting and educating children. Thank you for making a difference! 💖
Very brave of her to share these traumas.
There are 2 big patterns that can impact your life if you experience trauma…
- Childhood trauma can arrest development.

I was introduced to Jamie when she spoke at UPW. But julianne just described the Landmark Forum in a nutshell.
Curious about your comment as I've heard of Landmark but am not too familiar. Can you elaborate more? Thank you!
Thank you for being part of this conversation and for sharing your perspective! 💖
Thank you so much for sharing this.
Yes!!! 🙌
