Thanks Gary I was born and bread in Gt Yarmouth, remember the drifters, although this era was nearly at an end but lived around the smoke houses and as they closed one by one used them as a playground climbing the wooden timbers they used to hang the herring on., in the summer swam in the outside pool and on a rare treat went on the pedal cars shown in the video.Now live in Cambridgeshire only get back to Yarco once a year.
Great footage. My Great great Grandfather Robert Hurst was a fisherman there. And my Great Grandfather born 1869 was a fireman there, before moving to the 'big smoke' 😉(London). I wonder if the Hurst surname is still floating around there ?
