According to estimates from the regional office of the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology in Catania, the ash ejected from Etna reached a height of about 4.5 kilometers (2.7 miles) and was moving southeast. No it doesn’t, all volcanic activity emits 280-360 million tonnes of CO2 each year, that’s less than 1% of global CO2 emissions.
