When you tried to put it in gear, was there any movement of the driveshaft ? P.S. -- really cool YJ !! Well worth the time and effort you guys are putting into it !! It will quite the learning experience and will be an awesome project.
I realized afterwards that we didn’t check. I will be checking soon. When I put it in gear, nothing happened. No clunk, no sound, no nothing. I’m thinking transmission linkage or transmission problems.

When you put it in gear look under car and see if propshaft is turning if it is its your back axle thats faulty
