05:53 What's the point of having different forms of that word "au" / "aux" if there's no difference in pronunciation, neither of this word, nor of the plural form of the noun? :q And how can one distinguish whether the singular or plural is meant when only hearing it?
@@learn_french I know which one is which, that's not what I was asking for. I was asking for how can one distinguish them IN SPEECH, if they are PRONOUNCED exactly the same way, and you don't see the text to help you, so you don't know how they're spelled.
@@bonbonpony you look at the object, if it is plural then you put “aux” if it is in masculin and singular you put “au”. In the speech you should try to understand the object. Then you will know if it is plural or not.
Je parle au directeur. Je parle aux directeurs. How would one know if speaker is talking about a single director or more than one director since pronounciation of both au and aux is same?
You are clever enough ! In one place you are giving the meaning of the sentence in english along with the French whereas elsewhere you are not speaking ! Je parle de romans = I talk of ( about ) the romans . Isn't it ?

They will know cuz you have the "directeur" in plural "directeurs"

breaking the meme number sorry
You missed the vowels
It is a l’
