Cool method! I have a couple proposals for your. 1st - I think that OneNote allows you to create the template for your notes, even like in your video. 2nd - your summary note have to be in the name of OneNote page.

Gorgeous tie, yet it didn't distract from your teaching. Good job.

That was really helpful! Thank you! I would also suggest using the insert space option on one note to use the cornell method.

Ive seen many videos on how to use the Cornell Note Taking method and I like this the most. The only issue i have is that you don't mention a title and a date for the notes, but ill just let them know. thanks for the video.

By far the best explanation on the subject matter, with great insights and usage guidelines.

For those interested in slightly alternative take, this is a less traditional more visual approach.

Cornell notes involves Note taking in the notes section, Question in the Cue section, and Summary/Conclusion in the Summary Section.
On onenote a user could use 1 page and 2 sub pages.
Page: Outline method or Mapping Method notes
    Subpage 1: Cue
    Subpage 2: Summary

Walter Pauk's book How to Study in College is still on my shelf 20+ years later. It's a great resource. This video is a nice summary of the note taking method and how to modernize it. For my use, I think I'll convert the summary to text and move it to the top of the page for easier access. I wonder if it might also work to compile the summaries on their own pages with link-back to the original? You got me thinking, Matthew! Thanks for the video!

LynneLaRochelle Oh. That sounds like a much better system for me, both having the 'summary' at the top, and/or giving the summary its own page(s).
      Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for your tips Matthew! I'd like to know how would you apply these concepts to maths and calculus notes which are dense of definitions, demonstrations and eventually plots. Where would you put these elements during the lesson?
I'll soon get my first Surface Pro and I hope it'll help me passing my exams!

Hi. Is there anyway to use a template to automatically apply the margin lines etc for every page. I'm a mature student studying s degree at home so this would be helpful

I'm sure you figured something out but the best way to make a template is to create a template section with all of your templates. Once you've created the templates you want, right click and copy the template (Copy Page To option) to the section that you want it to arrive in. Then you can update the title and details as necessary.
