The megadrive port of the second game was my first experience of the franchise. I didn't realise how much had been added to the game compared to the arcade until much later. The no jump+shoot thing always annoyed me.
No mention of the hidden character in 3? Anyways, the entire video seemed a bit dismissive of the series, and offended it was welcomed on Genesis. But back in the day, quality droped fast once you left the top tier games. Rolling Thunder 2&3 were a great alternative to all the Western titles with mandatory hits, bad color, and GEMS abuse. I rather enjoyed this style of walking simulator.
Great coverage of the game. My favorite part was, "This is Jay, not that you'll notice... or care". I never heard of this series when I was a kid, it wasn't until the last few years that I came across it. The jumping from upper platforms and ground level and hiding behind boxes really reminds me of the Shinobi series
You can really see the influence sega drew on for shinobi, like you i only briefly played a bit of RT 2 as it had a uk pal release it would be a long time before getting into the series as a whole, thanks for checking out the video.
its interesting to compare rolling thunder 2/3 to Elevator Action Returns.. EER is so much a better "rolling thunder 3" than RT3!

Good to see a video chap! 🙂
Thank you man.

My favourite game of all arcades! Although probably more of a 'walk n gun!'
Thanks for watching
In my opinion U.S.Gold / Tiertex were a terrible duo, doing poor quality ports of everything they put their hands on. Nice video btw.
Thanks for watching man, i wonder if anyone would be interested in a tongue firmly in cheek look at US Gold in more depth?
I got the arcade / famicom and 2 & 3 on MD, you don’t need to convince me this game is great, but I’ll watch your video anyway. Cheers
With the exception of the home computer ports its a great series, thanks for watching man
Thanks for the videos they’re fun
