Oh wow I didn't know about the genetics and herd management, super stoked to see more from this game. Could you do a video dedicated to explaining the genetics/management.
I had a culling spree today as well. Even called in three mature 1 star elk and took them all out within 20 feet of each other. Going to give it some time and check out if they changed their zone because of it.
Flinter! First I gotta say I dig your videos, all around great work. I’m also from PA and I really enjoy WOTH more than any other hunting game available at the moment. That being said I’m having an issue I hope you can shed some light on. Two things may keep you from being able to help, first I’m on Xbox series X and you play PC, second this question pertains to multiplayer which I’ve never seen you play. But I don’t use the main social media stuff and I’ve had no luck with Google. My friend and I enjoy the hunts on woth especially together. The problem is we can’t take taxidermy’s from the hosts game to our own. We’re on the same difficulty (default) and everything appears to be handled appropriately. When the guest claims the taxidermy it shows up in their taxi log but not the hunting log. But whenever they get back into their single player game same map same difficulty it’s no longer listed in their taxidermy log & obviously unavailable to place in their lodge. Do you or anyone in the comments know anything about this? Sorry for the hassle but this really is a deal breaker for us as far as multiplayer goes because the only point is credits and herd management. Both of which will sooner than later not be necessary. Any help at all from anyone would be greatly appreciated.
it would be cool if by applying hunting pressure it could be also possible to move the herd permanently to a more suitable habitat, which, combined with a bit of culling...
Just so you know I shot a 1 star adult elk that looked just like the one at 13:30 because I thought the same logic, but it turned out to be 92%. I have no idea what to make of the racks. Some of the young ones look like 5 stars too.
Also from my experience in this game, the 30-06 is more powerful than the .308. I also dont think it really matters in this game, the .308, .270, and 30-06 can all take down the biggest animals in the game
@@Goblinrotisseriecat That is a very valid thought, but my question is “Why would you make the .308 more powerful than a 30-06 when generally speaking, a 30-06 has a bit more power?”
Actually .308 Win is weaker than .30-06. .308 bullet have about 3287 J of kinetic energy when shooting from 150m while .30-06 have about 3570 J at the same distance.
@@Flintergaming Glad I could help 🙂 About my comment regarding crossbow shooting under previous clip - if you're calling an animal and you stop using the caller in optimal moment, the animal will stop eventually and if it won't hear any call it will turn away going back to it's own business. That is the moment when you have an excellent opportunity to take a broadside shot. If you continue to call animal will be walking towards you until it stops 10-15 metres in front of you. I have no idea what's will happen then, never waited that much 🙂

Only shoot 1 star adult males and 1 and 2 star matures. This removes bad genetics from the herds and leave room for 3,4, and 5 stars to grow.
Agreed

Love the Way of the Hunter vids!
Hopefully you get the opportunity to see that bear again!
The mountain biome’s are only in the far north, the bison were in the highland forest. Which is their primary habitat.
Flinter with all due respect i could fall asleep just to your voice and the ambiance of the games
one bull gored by the other :P

I shot a 1 star Adult with the double glitched rack thought he would be the best one to get out… yeah 99.8% was sick to my stomach!
@@TheBrownYeti98 ouch, that hurts. Yeah I think from now on I'll use low fit calls and if nothing comes in I'll have to leave them be.
Love the vids keep up the good work!
Finally using the 308 again
Does sleeping through multiple days help speed things along with herds?
Hey flinter I’m about to hit aurora shores for the first time any tips or anything like that would be helpful!
Hotspot for elk, besides the island?
Your elk luck has crossed over from nez perce
It makes zero sense that a .308 would be more powerful than a 30-06.
Why? They are both 30 caliber. And depending on the grains 308 can out preform a 30-06. 30-06 however has way more case space to add more powder into.
@@Goblinrotisseriecat I think the last part of you comment answered your question of why 30-06 would be more powerful

@Jaisean Fountain no duhh. But the game doesn't let you custom load your rounds like I do in real life

I thought about it right after I said it like “I could have just checked the energies” 😂 I never actually looked tho, thank you!

Please look at the maps in your lodge and pick up the maps and missions at the camps because it makes your map look really nooby.
