I was thinking the same thing. I prefer the more traditional stock for something like this even if they eliminate the takedown feature. I always wondered why they don't release the 9mm without the takedown at a more affordable price point.
@@timrobinson6573it’s more than likely their 10/22 take down is a best seller now and they copied the hype. Additionally, there are lots of PCCs so to remain competitive they made a full size rifle that can fit in a backpack. I am not sure why the charger is a take down though. Magpul stock and fluted barrel makes it lighter though. Only 6lbs.
@@AB25a1 I read the same thing on some gun forums back when the .40 S&W version of the PCC released. The tungsten weight doesn't play well with .45, or with 10mm for that matter. And now that the .40 version got discontinued in 2021, the PCC will only be a 9mm gun for the foreseeable future.
From ballisticsbytheinch you can see that standard pressure 45 ACP has almost no gain in velocity out of longer barrels. You will have to shoot +p that for. Also lighter bullets like 185g or 200g. But for example Buffalo Bore +p185 gr. can get 1438 fps out of a 16 inch barrel. This is 44 magnum range.
Yes. It is simple math that anything with a simple blowback operating system should be cheaper than anything that has a more complicated operating system.
...sorry to ask...how/why is .45 Auto referred to as "God"s caliber"... ...have heard that reference a couple times but don't know the origin/reference? ...Thanks...
I need custom smith mfg to make a short VFG handguard like their 5.7 one. I will throw a faux can barrel cover on this and make a little PDW in 45. Just needs an MP7 style stock. I see a lot of potential for this. Very excited to see it
Find one in 40, bore the barrel a little deeper for headspace, and get a really really heavy recoil spring. Actually...I'm not a gunsmith and have no idea. The boltface would probably shatter.
@@yz250ftonyThe most limiting factor in that kind of conversion would be magwell size. Sure you could ream the 40S&W chamber to 10mm, but the 10mm cartridge has a longer overall length. The 40S&W/9mm length magwell wouldn't accept 10mm length mags. But I suppose you could have a single shot 10mm, but why bother.

Ballistically speaking 45acp in std loadings makes for a poor PCC, in +P it's expensive but better ballistics. This is what generations of pistol caliber carbine shooters have discovered and rediscovered over the years (in my case going back to the 70's :)). On the good news side it's just a few tweaks away from 10mm which is great in a PCC so there's that...
What mags does it take? Full sized Glock mag, 13 round like a Glock 21...and it will work with most of the after market stick mags, things like that as well, depending on WHATEVER... What does that mean, it works with most manufacturers depending on 'whatever'?
If Ruger had this same rifle in 9, I'm in. Their PC carbine is too heavy, but still great. I don't want to spend 100's of dollars to upgrade to Mcarbo triger and Magpul Backpacker stock.
They messed up on this one, you hit the nail on the head. No one wants a 16in 45. Make a charger with a 6-8 inch barrel and make it so you can brace it or sbr it.

More like they SHOULD have sent Hop!

really glad someone is doing a carbine in a bigger caliber but would have preferred it in the PC carbine
I actually wish they’d make this in 9mm. I have a PCC but it’s pretty long and heavy
Once you discover 45 Super things like this have REAL potential. Pretty close to 10mm speeds but with a little more mass
Definitely gonna get one of these!
DId he say that it can handle 45 Super?

Make mine a .400 CorBon. The lil fat bottleneck cases make it more interesting.

@@jefferytillis8309I bet you a dollar they release a “charger” pistol version of this like they always do after releasing the carbine version.
This carbine and a Glock 21 with a bunch of extended mags. A great bugout setup to grab and go.

A 16 inch integral suppressor barrel would interest me... that would be an actual reason for the .45 chambering - subsonic.
Sorry - didn’t look at your comment until after I posted the same thing
Hopefully the price will come down, also 7lbs for a pcc is pretty heavy. But looks like a spiritual successor to the CX4 in 45
This would make a great host for a De Lisle style of build. Cut the barrel down and add a long can to it for a real quiet semi-auto.
How's the recoil? It looked like it has hell of a kick on that woman shooting it.
10mm that can handle hot loads? Please?
4 inches shorter than the PC carbine. Very handy. Any chance of a 9mm version?

been waiting for them to make an LC in 45acp for a suppressor host. A Silent SR ISB model like the 10/22 they have would be even cooler.
Seems cool a little pricey but we will see if the price drops. The update chargers to the controls would be nice to do to the 5.7 aswell
They really made a modern Uzi in .45 ACP...
If this had been 8 years ago I would have been super into it.
10mm to come right?
Ruger offers an integral barrel/suppressor for the 10/22 so why not one for this? That would be awesome! 😎

So why the LC in 45 acp instead of the PC? Why not now make a 9mm LC and eliminate the PC?
