It took me about 20 tries of the undyne boss fight to realize I was supposed to run away for the pacifist victory. I memorised almost her entire attack pattern, and when I finally worked it out I beat the encounter so easily I didn't take a single point of damage. I have a love/hate relationship with this song.
I went in blindly and somehow quickly found out I was supposed to be running away. The thing that always killed me was right when it was about to end, when she keeps saying, "Right... NOW!!" I kept dying 'cause at that point I had nothing to heal me. It's really odd because now whenever I do the pacifist fight it's really easy. I get mad at myself for thinking it was so hard, haha.

This game. And *ALL* its characters.
+hip indeed I JUST got to this point, and yeah I love that they didn't play her off as a (no pun intended) monster. But as a hero. She's not "killing the poor innocent child", she's "defending her people from a threat".
Undyne was the only one who ever succeeded in killing me, because I didn't pick up on the hint that you could run away while red, so instead I kept challenging her, figuring she'd respect that, and I'm not ashamed of how long I managed to hold out.
Being a true pasifist, this Boss Battle made me so frustrated! But then I remember what Flowey said: "Are you going to kill out of frustration?" NO I AM NOT GOING TO, FLOWEY! I WILL DO THIS BY MY OWN RULES! BY SHOWING MERCY! And I did. I ran away and poured a cup of water on Undyne to save her from dying. I feel great. ;u; Oh and everyone should read what my cousin wrote because no one talks about this: "I never see anyone talk about it but Chara not being inherently evil has canonical proof - they redeem themself in the Pacifist, No Reset timeline. If you boot up up the game after Frisk has left the underground, Flowey asks Chara to not Reset because "everyone is happy". Again: Chara. Not Frisk. Frisk has already left the underground. Only Chara (& you, the player) remain, and it's only you who can reset. If you decide not to reset, that in extension means Chara themself decides to let everyone go & live their lives - even if that means they'll have to be stuck in the underground alone, forever (& you, the player, choose to never replay the game). Again, Chara has the power to reset. They can bring everyone back. But they don't. And if that's not redemption, I don't know what is."

FastFlyerJr She only mentions picking up girls at the garbage dump, and when Papyrus asks if death is pretty Undyne says "Yeah, _she's_ like super hot." Her preference is clearly towards women :P Alphys, on the other hand, is bisexual, but even then, she ends up with undyne instead of a guy.
Recently I beat Undertale, going in mostly blind. Man Undyne was so hyped up as this badass that you can't even fight, you can only run from her. Every run-in you have with her ends with you getting lucky and escaping, before finally she stands in your way... Yelling at you from the top if a mountain, blocking your path, she tells you to prepare yourself and then *THIS* plays and the battle begins. It's a perfect theme and this fight has been hyped so damn much. The mechanic of having to block attacks from every direction make it feel like an actual swordfight. This theme screams "Throw yourself into the fight with everything you have" and it was my favorite part of the game.
Not to mention the fact that the game is easy up to this point, with healing items not really mattering. So you have the feeling of wanting to test yourself to see how well you can preform

The fact that Undyne's theme comes after the serenity of the waterfall area of the game just makes it that much more memorable, because the contrast hits so much harder!
An indie game that only came out in the last month, to be the spiritual successor to the Mother series, great story, unique sprite work, lovable characters, and I shit you not the best retro OST I've heard since Shovel Knight.
And it has single handedly beaten Half Life 2, GTA V, & even the great Deus Ex as the highest rated PC game. While I like Deus Ex more, this is up there.

Recently I beat Undertale, going in mostly blind. Man Undyne was so hyped up as this badass that you can't even fight, you can only run from her. Every run-in you have with her ends with you getting lucky and escaping, before finally she stands in your way...
Yelling at you from the top if a mountain, blocking your path, she tells you to prepare yourself and then *THIS* plays and the battle begins. It's a perfect theme and this fight has been hyped so damn much. The mechanic of having to block attacks from every direction make it feel like an actual swordfight. This theme screams "Throw yourself into the fight with everything you have" and it was my favorite part of the game.
Not to mention the fact that the game is easy up to this point, with healing items not really mattering. So you have the feeling of wanting to test yourself to see how well you can preform

The fact that Undyne's theme comes after the serenity of the waterfall area of the game just makes it that much more memorable, because the contrast hits so much harder!
An indie game that only came out in the last month, to be the spiritual successor to the Mother series, great story, unique sprite work, lovable characters, and I shit you not the best retro OST I've heard since Shovel Knight.
I actually prefer this ost to Shovel Knight
And it has single handedly beaten Half Life 2, GTA V, & even the great Deus Ex as the highest rated PC game. While I like Deus Ex more, this is up there.
