I went to Chapman U and lived in Orange for 4 years. Absolutely loved it! So happy to see Orange where it is on the list! 🙌🏻

Regarding your number two selection: It's tih-bur-on not TEE-boor-on, which is Spanish for shark. Love Palo Alto, SLO and Napa! Can I afford to live in any of these places? Heck no, but being nearby and spending time in them once in a while is fine.

I'm genuinely surprised Santa Cruz is not on this list. Admittedly the freeway and Boardwalk traffic can cause rage-or long naps; but otherwise it's an amazing place with pretty much everything. Perhaps it escaped the list because so much of the area is not incorporated. And yea, I grew in Pacific Grove. I suppose I should crush on the Monterey Peninsula, but they ALWAYS get attention and the first industry is high-end tourism, so feh. Maybe I'm just bitter because I can't even afford to visit, now that my grandparents are gone, much less live there. Still, life is not complete without seeing the area in person at least once. Same for redwood forests. Take your pick of what's left of them.

Ruinously expensive. I hated it. And it should absolutely be number one on this list. Truly one of the most incredible places on the California coast.

Well done video. You have to be wealthy to live in most of these places.

Very nice. Thoughts on Laguna Beach?

I like Laguna Beach. Very expensive and more touristy than I thought it would be before I visited. Definitely a top 20 small city in CA. I can see the appeal for retirees, as opposed to a place like Newport Beach which I think is getting younger and younger. A lot to do and see, and those beaches are amazing.

I've never been to any of these places, but I'd imagine Walnut Creek, Emeryville, and Alameda might at least make honorable mentions. Might also add Dana Point, it's beautiful but doesn't really have a downtown, it's basically just a giant neighborhood.

It all depends how you define “best” but the list was pretty solid except for Orange… While Orange is nice, no way is it above any of the others on the list. I’d move everything up and put San Clemente or Santa Cruz in the bottom slot.

Orange county has over 3.151 million. the city or Orange is in that 3 mil. No thanks. Ya downtown Orange can feel like Mayberry. I live here in the OC. Can you say traffic. It costs a lot to live here. You can say that again. Guess you know that as you live here too. Nice video. Thanks
