Pontiac Bonneville SE, SLE Fuel Pump Replacement 2000 - 2005

This is a tutorial of me replacing my 2003 Bonneville's fuel pump. The fuel pump is located unside the trunk floor. There are no videos I found on how to replace the pontiac fuel pump, that I've found. The video has part numbers, mm sockets and other tools you'll need to get the job done. I find the parts on Amazon. I used Airtex fuel pump, and it is USA made.

Thanks, that helped. My old pump slid out ok, but it was close. This was a 2001. I couldn't get a removal tool, so used the hammer and screwdriver method - took many very hard hits to get it free. I also had to bend the locking tabs up a bit to help release their grip.

Thank you very much for the details you gave. I was just going to pump fuel out of my gas tank because it’s old, I thought I would go through this port. I decided not to because you had such trouble getting it out. I think I’ll just go get the jack out and take the hose off the thing. You saved me.

Loved video, helped me with my 04 bonneville, I'm not sure if it matters which black wire to take to the black and white stripe one. Dont have a wire diagram, so wish me luck

It took me a hour to do with a flat head and hammer to take the bracket off

Damn I forgot about the flat lip that prevents the pump from being pulled out. Crap. I changed it once and then I got a different car and.... well here we go again...

You skipped all the most important stuff in regards to The Wire connection and the ring itself that connects the tank for the pump the security ring if you will that is all the stuff that people want to see very good video otherwise
