Absolutely splendid to hear Byron and the 3/10 Compton doing fabulous things! Really terrific sound and beautifully regulated, also so nice to hear the organ without the wobble boxes in straight mode, very convincing Compton sound, also terrific to add the MIDI box to enhance the instrument. Nice to see the tuned percussions lighted up when on!!! Altogether a really nice presentation by the Welsh Wizard!!!! BRAVO and than you!!! From Bermuds, Adrian 😀😀😀
Oh dear Byron, when I saw you at the Granada cinema, Slough it must have been longer ago than it seems. If you remember the WurliTzer console had been taken off its` lift and placed in the stage wings, we had to watch you on television!
We used to have a John Compton organ at a Doncaster church. This was the one that had the tone generator. This was away from the organ in the vestry. When it was open one day I was festinated with all the tone generators that were driven by a motor and the clever way the vibrato was made by the top of the 2 wheels being pushed to the side by a solenoid making the drive belt go slow then fast and so on.
Yes I believe that is what it was It had what I would call a jockey wheel on a spring to keep the belt tight esp on vibrato. You could watch and hear all the "fingers' of the relays clicking away and those big valves in there.
@@Musician-Lee Yes John I think that is what it was. I have just made a vid up of the generator from some pics I have and may have it one here shortly.
Oh and I saw the same Compton consul in another Compton video on here as we had here at St peters church here in Askern, Doncaster South Yorkshire, England

What you describe was the Compton Melotone system, which was, I think, unique to Compton.
