@@GarageBuiltHondas just wish they weren't so expensive now, planning on finding some OEM springs and buying some new KYB struts. The search for the springs has been a bit of a struggle
Who can dislike these videos....nothing but great info and a guy who works diligently on all his vehicles keep up the good work. Also how do you go about getting replacement shocks for these
+Garrett Billington I emailed Skunk2 when we were talking about it a while back. The do make replacement shocks still. Calling would probably get a faster response. And thanks for the comment G! It's just an upside down thumbs up! 👍👎😁
Skunk 2 pro coilovers . I bought these and they were bouncing alot in the rear , asked around how to lessen the bounce everyone said spring rating won't change . Well well well. Just loosen the the rear spring for the preload adjust ment all they till the springs are loose hand tighten till spring are snug and lock . Bouncy bounce is gone .
At 3:55, you can see the hole above the hologram is empty. According to the install instructions, the MAX height is when you can still see the inner sleeve within that hole. This puts the cars height lower than you're wanting, but just wanted to be sure you're aware the coils are not set up to manufacturer's spec and may be more prone to failure.
I was working on lowering the back. A few moments before you can see how the rear was very high, thus why the hole was empty on the sleeve. And in "height" I believe that in terms of failure, if it's too high in the cupped mounting sleeve, you risk damaging them because as you go higher you have less threads holding the shock to the mount.
Stupid question, but on a crx , should the ground to fender height be roughly the same on front and back ? I’ve got skunk2 as well and my rear is slightly lower than front. Wondering if I should raise the rear a little.
+Ben MacAulay thanks Ben!! Next week I'll have an in-depth video on this car, but you can watch this in the meantime for a look at the wheels! ua-cam.com/video/ScWUU7Gr5DI/v-deo.html
These coilovers have a small circular view hole on the casing to show the bare minimum max height to safely drive on. With mine set at there max height the rear is still very low with a one finger gap. I can adjust them higher but they will exceed S2's max height safety margin. The pre-load collar was not touched in adjusting the ride height. Did you experience this when dialing in your ride height?
@@GarageBuiltHondas Thanks. Yeah you know you are at your max safety height where you can barely see the end of the threaded collar through the view hole.
Devin Smith I'm using both, prefer these. The function forms are great but feel a little soft for my taste as my wagon has them and it rides comfortably. Similar spring rates but I think the shock absorber is what makes the difference to me.

Hey, jon love the vids. I just noticed that when showing how to adjust the height of the coilovers at the rear when looking through the view hole of the shock, the bottom of the threads are not visable (which is the skunk 2 maximum height setting). manbearpig710Hey man can please do reviews on truhart camber kits and k tuned camber kits. I love skunk 2 parts but my next build I’m wanting to try out different full brand build. Truhart makes every chassis part besides inner and outer tie rods but k tuned does and they are spherical but they don’t have a lot of chassis parts.
