Really cool seeing Higuchi choose to boom pressure at a mid range instead of fullscreen, so if he catches AKI trying to coward crouch, he can check it with drive rush. Adaptations like this are some of the most fun parts of patches imo

Also really cool to see aki adapting to that by going into double kicks instead of the dive to catch the drive rush attempt. Just having the option of a consistent dive makes her whole anti fireball game better

Bait it got kinda nerfed and buffed but Hikaru uses it to bait opponents mostly now. Also to create space to prevent getting whiff punished or somehting.

The move got buffed so that it slides her back when after she fake slides forward, making it a better bait and also a good spacing tool. I saw him also doing this against Akuma so it’s something I think he is trying to incorporate into his play.

The 3rd cr.lp puts you just out of range of heavy whip and makes it whiff because of its push back. Also standing lk opens up new routes aki didn't have before cause of the frame data changes in season 2

It's still not a guarantee that the heavy whip will connect, but it is a little bit more conscistent. The main benefit its the routing. StLK can connect with medium whip on a standing opponent and when they're poisoned its an additional extension
