Try to reach jakarta outskirts, or at least south & eastern jakarta. Rich of cultural native inhabitants. Take time to go ragunan zoo. I am living around here, and you'll find my family restaurant called Warung Saco, a betawi (batavian) dish restaurant, near the trans jakarta bus station. And if you happy to explore the natural places that not touristic, you may go to remote area around bogor. There are a lot of magnificent natural scenery around. Meet the native people in their villages, enjoy the dishes they served while enjoying the waterfall beside the clear water creek or river. It would be awesome.

Original sate padang is with beef. And the sate should be tender. I mean the beef is really tender.

Hi have you been to Sumatra, especially to Toba Lake in North Sumatra? It's a gigantic hilly lake with waterfalls and stuff. Going to the north is also worth it, from what I heard, the northern area of Aceh is also nice, the beach is just so pristine, greenish blue and less visitors (aka pollution).
