The Camarilla might have some merit, but why work for any other Kindred? Any Cainite smart and strong enough to survive should claim their own territory and rule it as they see fit!

The Camarilla is stagnant and unchanging any kindred would be better off carving out his own realm with the Anarchs or even risking the dangerous meritocracy of the Sabbat. Both award skill over bloodline while promotions in the Camarilla depend on the whims of the elders
@Coldest of nights 56 Well we lived in caves for thousands of years without medicine, hospitals and internet and it worked. We could live without all of this why change anything and advance things in the world?
I have a love-hate relationship with Vampire the Masquerade. There things that I love about, and things that I can't stand. I have a rule for Vampires that I go by and that rule is make Vampires look and act dangerous. The Camarilla is dangerous, but they represent the same danger when dealing with an oppressive government. That makes it familiar and not that scary. While the Sabbat knows they are monsters and revel in it and that is what makes them so dangerous and scary, but their evil is not as effective as the Camarillas. I ask myself who's the worst kind of monsters the Camilla or the Sabbat? To me, the Camarilla seems to be the worst, because even in unlife or undeath if you will they still want things to stay the same just like it was when they were alive. At lease, the Sabbat don't try to lie what they are.
"At least the Sabbat don't try to lie what they are" You hit the nail right on the head there. I agree with you that the Sabbat are at least honest to themselves and others what they're about, the Camarilla is the very definition of a feudal system that doesn't want to evolve or change at all.
@@ThePrimogen I disagree fundamentally. The Sabbat are some of the dishonest people around, they can't even come out and say what their sect is even about or why it exists, never-mind the amount of self-deception and mental gymnastics that goes into the Sabbats night to night about the state of their politics or path culture interactions.
Pretending to be a human being is the point of the game and where it gets most of its drama because you aren’t human. Playing just pure evil isn’t fun and not really that compelling. It’s those moments where the facade of humanity falls that the game is at its best.
For my own games I changed things slightly and had Justicar's not allowed to have consecutive terms. So they serve for 14 years and then they have to be replaced. They can then reclaim the position for a later term. This was done for plot reasons haha
@@ThePrimogen I have a cruel and megalomaniacal Ventrue Justicar who is determined to eradicate all the Sabbat on the East Coast before his term is done to leave a lasting legacy, no matter what he has to do to achieve it. this has led to him being involved with Lovecraftian powers and rituals and bargains with infernalists to achieve his ends. Its been the central plot to my game for years now.
I had the impression V5 removed most elders from the story, the destruction of the Vienna council, something in London and any decently strong Sabbat beckoned towards the middle east. Why aren't the remaining Camarilla elders similarly summoned? I think it's a nice idea to have tiers of power in the game, like an MMO would have. You have a noob/fledgling level, recently embraced and either do as you're told or join the anarch movement. Neonates have somewhat proven themselves, may act independently and may get a hint of the politics and games behind the scenes. The Methuselahs will be the focus points of these wars, either in the middle east or anywhere. In "normal" kinded society I envision subfactions as regional combinations of clans working closely together. Every Camarilla city will have a Ventrue Toreador Tremere clique, a high clan Ivory Tower core. Malkavians are valued but not fully trusted, any sane kinded will treat them (together with their antitribu) as an independent clan that works (mostly) within Camarilla rules. Nosferatu are even less trusted, the clan has always had their own world, sewers and sad city parts. their repulsive looks give them the best unity vs outsiders. Their treatment as full members and them acting as such is just a show. It's an independent clan and always has been. Some Gangrel and Brujah are kinda part of the wider Camarilla world, rather like respected Autarkis or Barons one could have diplomacy with. They at least uphold the traditions if not the hierarchy of the Camarilla. Most will fully join the anarchs, and when (not if) they mess up and become a threat to the masquerade there will be war until a semblance of order and traditions is restored. Similarly I can't really see part of the Banu Haqim or the Lasombra fully joining the fold. But they could be respected kindred and close allies against common enemies.
