Great review of an excellent route. One problem I have with this route though, is the lack of moving vehicle traffic. The review does not mention this even though almost every other Railworks route features this type of traffic. This lack of road traffic is particularly noticeable in the streets of Brownsville, although I appreciate that the normal road lofts may have presented the traffic in an unrealistic way. Apart from this problem a very realistic route.
Scenery on this is definitely mind blowing! But sad to hear motive power, sound, and physics are kinda 'thrown in' to fill it out. All in all, RW is really looking exceptional these days. And will only be improving I'm sure.
I used to work for PTI professional transportation services and we used to work for Norfolk Southern picking up the crew cxx Conrail the whole works I love doing it I love the guy and love to cruise and I miss you
I knew u had excellent music taste since u started making you're reviews, but I always thought to myself "A song from Mirrors Edge by Solar Fields would be so awesome in a review" and wa la, it happened lol. Excellent review.
I wish they would extend the route to shire oaks to clairton works, to Conway yard, and do csx mon line from west Brownsville to street running in Elizabeth to glass port to us steels Braddock works, to new castle yard
+uusimakinaryto The Dunlap branch was abandoned in 1976. Used to be a really cool old tunnel but they filled it in when they built the turnpike extension. Not sure when the PRR Redstone branch was abandoned, the wye was there until Conrail took it out in the 90s but most of the track was probably pulled up long before that.
Great review and great commentary. Well done. I think time constraints and pushing to get there is normal within safe operations. Don't discount the scenarios for the on time performance. No one likes slow running if it can't be helped (such as safety or operational issues). And I am safe to the core and a bit slow, so for me to say it is balanced. Railroads do operate safely and if Engineers speed they lose their jobs. They have to be on top of their game. It is a tough industry. Easy when things go your way but you need to be prepared for challenges and able to handle them well. Otherwise you just won't last.
The GP38-2 sounds are also the GP38-2 BNSF sounds from Aurora to Chicago in Railworks2015.Sorta improves, but the SD40-2 sounds are uh...Default SD-40-2 sounds?
its their most beautiful yet? what about the canadian mountain passes?(i have the same relationship with this as you have with the NS coal district. its my local railway) its just as good as this, but set in a different place.
one thing i don't get is why the horn on the ES44 doesn't trigger the bell. the ES44 from canadian mountain passes makes the bell ring when you press the horn button.
Erm ... I will point out it is entirely possible, and not particularly difficult, to have loaded hoppers in Quick Drive. In fact the first thing I did with this with this route before even running it was set up a loaded 50 car coal train.
I was wondering if you'd like to review a map that I am working on. It is a huge wip, if you would like to, then please tell me your skype or another way I can talk with you
+NShighnoser I perfer Trainz Simulator because it is the 2nd best to Railworks for detail wise but Railworks you have to pay for everything. MSTS is third place its not AS good as Trainz but it is still worth playing.
I think this route is great and I have hade no issues with objects diapering ether but the packs that you can buy are not I think Dove Tail games needs to have the same creator for all American trains look over the products be for there sent out cause I hate the 80MAC its horn is one long blast its wheel slip is atrocious when starting up on a hill if you ever get moving and ditch lights never seem to flash on any extra add-ons like the 80MAC and GP38-2H its a real shame is what it is that the product are never really satisfying to the customer that spends $20 on a train and then hates it but hope fully the new DASH-8 and the UP 844 deliver the experiences

+B Twale You need the Loveridge Secondary first to get the full Mon Valley experience.

the first music number is fantastic! gotta love the 2007 transformers score! haha great video though
Hey, Mirror's Edge music! :D Great review, Nick, very well done.
I agree with you @ 7:38
your videos are very (very) good. Well done!
greetings from Germany
Hey you guys are alive!!!!!
I got this route for free when i bought Train Simulator 2016, it is amazing.
Great review and great commentary. Well done.

thank you. I hate carrer scenarios. you have to be like perfect and have your train going right from the get go
Me on this route is 6 locomotives on the head and 3 on the back
REVIEW THE UP FEF-3 IT JUST CAME OUT!
The GP38-2 sounds are also the GP38-2 BNSF sounds from Aurora to Chicago in Railworks2015.Sorta improves, but the SD40-2 sounds are uh...Default SD-40-2 sounds?
+FECSD70M2 PRODUCTIONS They are the default sounds for the Trainz SD40-2 too. Copy much?
Pendennis Castle Actually you're thinking about the US Loco and Asset SD40.
FECSD70M2 PRODUCTIONS SD40-2*, and yes i meant that but they sound the same as this one.
Pendennis Castle Mhm.
Is there a way to fix the scenarios for the high hood sd40-2?
Wait, 82%, that is worse then the Pacific Surfliner route and that route has tons of glitches.
Uploaded on my birthday! :)
7:19 Yikes!
Yeah.
Nice review Nick! I think the line is still in uses or not.
its their most beautiful yet?
what about the canadian mountain passes?(i have the same relationship with this as you have with the NS coal district. its my local railway)
its just as good as this, but set in a different place.
Very enjoyable video! Where did you get the intro music from? Is it from iTunes or a website?
I know that soundtrack from the start of the video!
Transformers The Score-Arrival on earth
7:35 This guy predicted PSR
I live In Pittsburgh by the pgh line
I do I use the coal loader
one thing i don't get is why the horn on the ES44 doesn't trigger the bell. the ES44 from canadian mountain passes makes the bell ring when you press the horn button.
+Scott Nelson Erm, the ES44's bell rings when i sound the horn and also activates the ditchlights so i don't know what your talking about.
That was before the Train Simulator 2016 version. I know now it does.
what music did u use i love it and the route
It's a song from the film Transformer's if you go on Spotify you should be able to find it.
oh sorry i had a brain fart there
Idk why but the bell on the herritage ES44AC doesnt work for me
When is your next video?
Whats about Run8´s Cajon Pass?
Erm ... I will point out it is entirely possible, and not particularly difficult, to have loaded hoppers in Quick Drive. In fact the first thing I did with this with this route before even running it was set up a loaded 50 car coal train.
it seems trainsim never makes loaded consists
I want to know what the name of the song at the start of the video
ua-cam.com/video/0_FHPJIhNBw/v-deo.html
Why do the videos have a jerky look rather than smooth. Is that a problem with very low frame rates of the sim?
I wished this would be the only problem, the biggest is RSC/DTG on it own they wont fix any bugs of dlc´s....
+Bob Cardone You think that is low framerates, rubbish. Most people get worse like 10 FPS, i get 30 FPS it is good enough for me.
is there a MSTS/OR version of this?
I believe there is, but it goes under the name of the division, not "Coal District"
The Arctic Gamer which would be?
What's with the transformers music
I was wondering if you'd like to review a map that I am working on. It is a huge wip, if you would like to, then please tell me your skype or another way I can talk with you
+Rony McJony i would try it
I'm glad I never spent any money on Railworks material. I will stick with my old MSTS with OpenRails. MSTS + OR = trainsim heaven.
I prefer Run 8. soooo much more realistic. I mean when train engineers I work with say its close to the real deal, you know its gotta be good.
+NShighnoser I perfer Trainz Simulator because it is the 2nd best to Railworks for detail wise but Railworks you have to pay for everything. MSTS is third place its not AS good as Trainz but it is still worth playing.
