I learned that the Explorer ST is as fast as a GR Corolla and both cars are considered slow compared to some options out there. We are truly spoiled when a 400hp SUV is not considered impressive by the You Tubers.
You mean as quick in a straight line. Pretty sure the top speed is higher in the GR and of course, on any sort of twisty road, the GR will be well, well ahead and therefore 'faster.'

I own 1 of 4 Registered Volvo V60 polestars in California. I only bought it because of a 35% discount. They are also limited to 111 mph. So they tend to lose at that mark. Until then they are rockets.
The i8 kind of sounds like a Honda VTEC V6 (even though it's a 3 cylinder). It still looks good since its release in 2014 without major exterior changes.
The most expensive GRcorolla is cheaper than the cheapest version of all the other new cars here, enough seats to move a normal family while being able to fit down tight roads and parking without drifting into other cars' spaces, Comes standard AWD (*cough* explorer). Not only that, its the slowest to discourage rowdy behavior and can take a gentle curve in the road without rolling over. And offers a manual. So the lesson of the day is that the hot hatch is the the most economical, most safe, most engaging, overall smartest and most responsible play. *Pay no mind to me playing around with the V60 T8 configurator*
I don't know about discourge Rowdy Behavior LOL someone will see that Gr badge and think race car haha. But yeah I pretty much agree with everything else you said

If ya like small get the GR if ya have kids and still want to go fast get one of the others.
But the best car here is the Volvo. Have the same interior space as the Explorer, AWD of the BMW i8, more comfortable than all the cars and has enough power to still be fast!
I can’t believe journalists who test cars for a living don’t know this…. To put the GR Corolla in launch control you must pull both paddle shifters after putting it in track mode and turning off stability 🤦🏾♂️ jeez Anyways, it still would have lost lol
@ He mentioned that it lagged off the line. The launch control builds boost and creates an aggressive launch. What he did was simply held down the brakes and gas simultaneously which isn’t launch control in the case of the GRC.
While the Explorer is slower than the i8 and V60 Polestar, it's still impressive for a 6/7 seat family hauler. I don't think anyone is going to confuse it with a Mustang. And the V60 is just another in a line of European sport wagons (and the Cadillac CTS-V wagon) that combine performance and utility so well, but usually disappear from the North American market too soon.
It’s not bad around track either. Although obviously a v8 would’ve been miles better. It gets great gas mileage and is honestly quicker than most think it is
They never run the losers against each other. Don’t really understand why? I mean we see the numbers but I would like to see the actual race of bracket losers.
…I mean, as a V60 T8 owner, the V60 has some sports car-esque compromises u might not expect, just from lookin at it… there’s almost no rear subfloor storage and no spare tire. Getting a tow hitch is expensive and potentially complicated if u ain’t got a chill dealership. The trans tunnel hump in the second row is massive, and there’s no center console storage. Seating position is low enough, the doors long enough, and the car wide enough, that getting in and out in tighter parking lots can be difficult for the less than able-bodied. But on a race track, the V60 is a heavy lady, and u feel the dip in horsepower when the battery hits zero and the e-axle goes dead. It’s really best configured as a grand tourer, but North America only gets the sporty polestar trim. Honestly, if all u wanted was something vaguely wagon shaped, I might be more inclined to get a hybrid CX-50 or crown signia… but if shopping for pure-blood wagons, I think there’s only 3 remaining today: V60 polestar, RS6 avant, and taycan sport turismo… of the 3, the V60 is clearly the most affordable…
