Nuevo Paraiso, Mexico was inspired by the Mexican state of Nuevo León - I’ve been there, it’s real beautiful. The southern boundary of Nuevo Paraiso was definitely a nod to the Sierra mountain range in Monterey
Love listening to the Mexican ambience in this game because it reminds me of my fathers hometown in Guanajuato. A state far from the border. But we still come from a sleepy town nonetheless.
The distant trumpets especially take me back to what few times I've been to Mexico, kicking back at my grandma's big ol' house she has in a village out in the rural parts.
I'm calling it here: red dead 1, and it's soundtrack, are leaps and bounds better at presenting that classic western vibe; a vibe that red dead 2 just, in my opinion, lacks for the most part
That's because the composer, Woody Jackson deliberately went for a less traditionally western sound for RDR2. I agree that RDR1 is way better, and much closer to what I want from a western game.

This one is my favourite ambient track from rdr1, along with Tall Trees. They nailed the northern Mexico vibes here
My father really enjoys this track because it reminds him of his ranch in Nuevo Leon.

I thought this Nuevo Paraiso was based off of chihuahua and the southwestern section of Nuevo Paraiso was based off of a park in Utah
The trumpets are beautiful

It's because most of it is in eastern America.

Well from my knowledge Roanoke ridge is based on Appalachia and I wouldn’t really consider that western
